Rachel Pateko honestly wondered how he wasn't an alcoholic. He had every reason to drink. He had no love life, no social life, his job was ridiculous (even if he did maintain that it was way better than his old one), and his students needed to be taught such odd things.

Today he was to teach a Diligence-Gluttony child. So far, he'd had at least 2 Diligence students. Why that virtue was so popular, he had absolutely no idea. He was informed that this child was too heavy to fly, and also had a second mouth on her stomach. How wonderful. The hell was he supposed to teach her? How to gnaw plants into shapes? What was she, a goat? Carving with your mouth? She wasn't a fricken BEAVER. Wing care? Um.....maybe?

He guessed he'd just have to wing it with this one - literally or not. Oh well, just hopefully it'd work out for the best. Maybe he could teach her to juggle or something.

She was alone. Her mother hadn't been allowed to come with her, and she was frightened.

Lori shivered in the chill of the white building, ears lowering and shoulders tensed as her wings pressed to her back, her hands turning over the scrap of paper outlining where she was supposed to go. She hated it here, she recalled dimly as she turned, pausing in front of the door.

Her stomach growled, bearing the longer, sharper new teeth as her hand reached for the knob. She stopped and swallowed the last of the comfort food [a collection of used screws and nails] her mother had packed for her before turning it, poking her head around the door and stepping in.

"Miss Rachel?" She called softly, wings shivering as she inched around the door once more. That had been the teacher's name, right? And Marlene had said that was a girl's name. She shivered again before sliding into the room, tongue flicking across one of her new teeth absently.

Rachel immediately had his face in his palm and was shaking his head. Really, why wasn't he an alcoholic again?

"Come in." he grumbled. When one was expecting a woman and saw Rachel Pateko instead, they were generally in for a bit of a shock. Instead of a young woman, there was a handsome young man with broad shoulders, a strong build, and large hawk-like wings. And who looked like this was going to be a VERY long day for him.

Inside of the room were noticeably very few things. Two beanbag chairs, a large block of plastic, a large block of marble, a large block of metal, and two shrubberies (all around 5ft tall and 3ft wide each). Huh. What were those for?

The girl blinked, head tilting back to look up at the man, her wings twitching curiously before her attention darted away, head tilting at the line of strange objects - pausing to stare longingly at the metal. Her attention flicked back to the man before she lifted a finger, head tilting to the side.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Lor-.. Chloris. Can I munch on that, Mister Rachel?"

He'd have questioned the nickname - and the fact that her name sounded like Chlorine, but his name was Rachel so he wasn't one to talk. "Yes and no. You'll be munching on all of those, individually, in a bit."

"However, you won't be allowed to just randomly chew them. You shall have to call on your diligence side to actually use your...munching, to shape these different objects into things."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 07, 2008 7:58 pm

"Shape them?" She replied uncertainly, glancing down at her stomach as if it would provide her with an answer - though it merely growled softly in reply. "..I can try!" She decided, smiling brightly before rocking back onto her heels. "What should I shape them like?"

"Something. A shape of some sort. You could make a sculpture of your teddy bear, you could make a gigantic face, you could make any shape you can think up to make." the man explained with a shrug. "That's really all there is to it. You may wanna sit and plan before you start to nom, though."

"A shape?" She repeated carefully, studying the materials absently before approaching the shrubbery. "I don't have a teddy bear," she offered after a moment, reaching to touch the leaves before sighing softly.

What did she have that she could carve it into? Her friends, but that'd be difficult - especially since she'd never done this before. What about a simple shape, like she drew while mom was working? Like, a circle or a kitty head...

Her wings fluttered, and she leaned forwards slightly, taking a careful bite of the plant. It didn't taste bad, at least.

A while later, the green girl sat - peering up at the lopsided figure that was supposed to be a cat's head - though the outline was wobbly and one of the ears was shorter. The entire this was punctuated with spots that she and her stomach had forgotten that they were supposed to be doing something - one nearly exposing the trunk of the bush.

"It looks funny, Mister Rachel."

"Well it's your first try and you may not be used to controlling your...eating for a task of this nature. There is a second shrub that you may try again on before moving onto the other materials. Just keep practicing."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2008 1:44 pm

The girl sighed, shifting over to stare up at the second shrub. This was disheartening, almost, she realized. To think she had so little control over herself... One hand lowered, pressing to the skin above her second mouth.

It gurgled in discontent, bearing its fangs at the girl as she focused her attention on it. Keep shut, she willed it silently, nearly losing the concentration as it slowly began to close. Her wings fluttered happily, her hand resting on her abdomen still as she began to munch carefully at the leaves.

A little while later and it was taking shape - though her hand trembled where it rest above the still closed second mouth. All at once, her hand slid away and it snapped open, the girl's body jerking forwards as its tongue wrapped around the bush's trunk and neatly snapped it in half. The girl blinked, shaking herself and glancing down at the tree that her second mouth was slowly munching away at with a soft groan.

She couldn't do this...

Rachel gently put a hand on Lori's shoulder and walked her over to the beanbag chair for a bit to rest. "You're still getting used to it, it will take time till you're good. Try not to gnaw on the chair but you can if you like. It was cheap."

Taking a seat in his own, the man put his head on his hand and looked to his pupil. "You know, you could attempt to get your other mouth to do the eating and shaping instead of your own mouth - using your upper half for direction. You're still new at this so getting it to behave the way you want will be difficult and seem awkward at first but you might get a better hang of it with time."

The girl blinked up at him, sighing softly as she was led to the chairs, flopping down onto them and shaking her head. "I won't eat them," she promised, teeth sinking into her lip slightly.

"..It won't listen to me," she explained, her hand pressing over the mouth, eyes watering slightly. "It's really hard to get it to not eat my friends, or mom... I don't know if it'll ever listen to me," she finished sadly, pouting and glancing down.

Maybe she needed to be locked up in the white place. Ebby, Adhi and 'Zuba never tried to eat anyone...

"Maybe you haven't reached a level where you and it see eye to eye yet? Or maybe there can be something done about it? I know the one boy who came here for a class had to take medication to repress a physical trade of his and it ended up making his tentacles very sleepy and lethargic. It might be extreme - and I wouldn't recommend it, particularly since I think doping something like this up is just going to screw you up in the long run - but it may be an option they might go into later. Another of my students - Adhara I believe her name is - was able to get her tentacles to behave by figuring out how to work around their behaviors and use that to her advantage. It all depends on how you work and how your...mouth, works."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2008 2:24 pm

The girl fell silent as she thought - peering down at the second mouth on her stomach, reaching to lightly dangle a finger near it - lifting it as it nearly closed on the tip.

How she worked, and how her mouth worked... How did it work? All it ever wanted was food - yet it was connected to her. It and her own tongue were connected, as the tastes of the things it had eaten burst across her own tongue. But they weren't... linked. They were two separate beings, just trapped together. Or.. were they?

Was it maybe possible that the mouth was her appetite, pushed into a real thing? So maybe, if she controlled or curbed that. She sat up a bit straighter, still staring at her stomach.

You aren't hungry, she told herself slowly. But she was - the thought made her stomach gurgle with dissatisfaction. You aren't hungry, she thought at it again, harder this time. You've eaten an entire bush and a half. You're mostly full, she attempted to reason with herself, pausing to shift uncomfortably at the way her stomach churned.

She took in a slow breath, fighting down the queasy feeling trying to be 'full' brought to her.

"Don't make yourself sick now." Rachel commented with a slightly raised eyebrow. "You're looking.......well green but in the sense other than usual."
