It seemed today was just like every other day was while Noah was on vacation: Boring. Guinevere no longer tried to keep Adhara entertained, too preoccupied with keeping the twins in line, both of whom seemed to be getting bigger everyday. Adhara had heard Persephone speak already; in fact, the girl hadn't shut up since she started talking, whereas Yanamari hadn't said a single word, content with listening to her sister.
Since Matthias, Ginny's live-in boyfriend, was off work for the day, Adhi had been sent out with the girl, much to her chagrin. She preferred going out on her own and running into other facility children. This way, she had to walk slower, listen to Sephy talk, and other things that literally drove her up the wall.
As a result, she was letting the little girls walk ahead of her, and was beating her wings in a desperate attempt to get into the air and keep herself there. Unfortunately, she always fell back down to earth. Then, she proceeded to try again. And again. And... again.

Lironax quietly leaned against the wall of the small shop, bouncing on his heels and watching the people that passed by with a dull interest. His tentacle slung loosely to the ever-present Vicky the teddy bear and his purple wing would flutter every so often. Other than that, the small boy was utterly still, faithfully waiting for Silas to finish talking to the strange woman inside. He was, of course, curious about what they were saying, but they had been speaking in a weird way, so he wasn't able to understand them. So when Silas had asked him to wait outside, he had done so with little complaint. Although the inside of the weird store had been filled with all kinds of strange and interesting stuff, watching all the people outside had proved to be just as intriguing, if not more so.
In fact, it became markedly more interesting when his gold eyes alighted upon the girl who was trying to fly. Lironax was so surprised that he stared quite openly as she approached before a huge happy grin grew on his face. This was the first person he had ever seen that was 'different' ( Silas' word for it ) like he was. A thousand thousand questions seemed to enter his mind all at once, but he didn't ask one of them until the girl landed just a few feet to his left. Lironax noticed the two girls in front of her only enough to allow them to pass before he stepped off his wall slightly, Vicky now in his hands and utter admiration in his gaze.
"You can't fly eiver?" he questioned the girl, completely at ease with addressing her. She was one of the 'different' people, after all; he had no reason not to trust her. "But-but- You have two wings... and dere so big, too..." Lironax stared at them for a moment before continuing. "So... so shouldn't you be able to fly, miss?"

When her amber eyes caught sight of the small boy, she finally stopped trying to fly, and ceased following her twin charges. "Yana, Sephy, com back," she called to the two girls absently, who glanced back curiously before returning at their ridiculously slow pace. She looked curious as the boy approached, and at the time that he asked the question, she smiled a bit.
"Actually, I think I can fly, but I don't know how to do it right yet," she said with a smile and a nod. At the compliment of the size of her wings, she smiled proudly and stretched them out, showing them off to the toddler. "They are really big, huh? They got like that when I got bigger a couple months ago. 'Fore that, they were reeeaaally small." She held two fingers a couple centimeters apart for indication.
"You two, um... wait in the store, 'kay?" Adhi asked the twins when they finally showed up. Both blinked large amber eyes in unison, before Sephy nodded. "'Kay," the short-haired girl said cheerily, grabbing her twin's hand and tugging her into the store. That oh-so-responsible deed done, she approached the boy a bit more and outstretched one hand, gently feeling his one purple wing. She giggled happily at it's soft feel and took a step back as booth Reena and Niita reached excitedly toward the boy and his tentacle. "I knew a boy who has only one wing. 'Cept his was bigger'n'orange. His name was Slythor, and my name's Adhara. And... this is Niita, and this is Reena," she commented, gesturing toward each tentacle in turn. "What's your name?"

At first, Lironax wondered if the girl with the big wings was calling him those funny names, but when he turned around, he saw the two smaller girls who looked oddly alike walking back. He smiled lightly at them, friendly per usual, but turned back excitedly when the taller girl started speaking again. His golden eyes lit up when she said that she could probably fly; the fact that she was failing was conveniently ignored. Maybe she could tell him what he was doing wrong! The awe he was feeling in her presence only grew when he saw her wings stretched to their full extent. He reached out and petted one gently, smiling as the large feathers slipped through his fingers. He was surprised to learn that they had once been so small, and reached out his fingers to touch hers, gauging the distance for himself. Once he had, he compared the length between his fingers and smiled when he learned that although his wing was small, at least is was bigger than that.
He happily looked back up at the girl when she spoke to him, and giggled when she petted his wing. It tickled really badly. He hadn't noticed her tentacles before, but they both seemed really energetic; not like his tentacle, which basically did whatever he wanted it to. The tentacle in question reached curiously out towards the others as he listened to the taller girl talk. "Ooh, really?" he asked when she told her she had met yet another winged child. He wondered idly where she had seen this Slythor; the only other 'different' person Lir had seen was... well, her! Oh, that is, Adhara! Well, and Niita and Reena, too; they counted because they were part of her. Lir smiled politely at the tentacles, like Silas had told him to do when meeting people. "Hallo, Reena. Hallo, Niita. Um, um, my tentacull don't hava name, but... it's happy to meet you."
The Patience child faced Adhara again once he had greeted the other two properly. "My name's Lironax, but dat's rully big, so you can call me Liron." The smile on his face stayed wide as he turned towards the shop window, through which he could barely see Silas. He pointed inside and said "My daddy's in there, though I don't rully know why. But he told me to 'wait outshide, Lir'-" those last three words were done in a deep voice ( allegedly an imitation of Silas ), accompanied by the shaking of a finger " - so I'm waitin' for him." His story explained, Lironax looked in the window for a while, before a flash of coppery hair ignited another question in his mind. Turning back to Adhara ( who he assumed by now knew everything, much like Silas did ), he asked "Who were dose two gurls? And- And why do dey look da same?"

"Yup!" Adhara said, smiling, proud that she was able to impress the little boy with her knowledge of other facility children. "I know lotsa other kids like us," she said happily, her wings fluffing up as a breeze floated by them, as she'd left her coat behind on this day, as though it would make the walk more interesting. "Let's see... I've met Slythor who's got one wing like you, but I said that already. Then, I've met Adriel, who's also gots tentacles, and Ebony, she's another Lust kid, but she doesn't have tentacles; she's got horns, though," she commented, tapping at one of the horns atop her own head, scratching at the base of it before she let her hand fall away. Apparently, all this not-talking had gotten her into a very... talkative mood. Not that it was abnormal for the Diligence girl to never shut up.
"'Zuba had only one wing, too, but it was goldie and was on the side of her head," she pointed to her right ear as an example. "And I've met lotsa kids who've got wings like me, too. Like... there's Lori, and there's Mareike, and there's Wynni, and, um... I think I met another one, but I don't remember who." Finally, it seemed she was finished talking about 'oh, the places she'd been', and was ready to listen to any other questions the little lop-sided boy had, blinking her amber eyes with interest.
"That's a nice name, Liron," she said with a bit of a laugh as to how he described it. "You can call me Adhi for short if you wan'na, even if my name's not that long. Some'a my other friends call me that." She nodded a bit, and giggled again with what he said about his own 'father'. Automatically, she knew that the man couldn't be his actual father, as... well, she didn't know what the child's other half was, but she knew that his real mother, or DNA donor, was J'her, and she definitely wasn't allowed to take care of her own children. She looked into the shop where Persephone seemed to be asking her sister various little questions, where Yana merely nodded, agreeable as always.
"Those two?" she asked, pointing into the window. "Wull... they're related to me, kinda. My daddy's their godfather, and they're my godmother's kids, 'cause she found them on her porch a couple days ago. They look the same 'cause they're twins, which means they're like sister, but they were born at the same time." She nodded, though she hadn't really explained that in a way that made any sense. Oh, well. She was just happy to have someone she could talk at, instead of someone she had to listen to all the time. It was especially good, given the boy seemed to look up to her, even if it was only a little bit. Or if she just wanted to believe that. Niita immediately sparked at the opportunity to meet another tentacle that she, this time, was thankfully bigger than, and wouldn't get crushed by. However, given the way both were facing each other, she couldn't do so, and pulled back in what was meant to be a huff, instead reaching toward the boy's hand, eager for attention. As usual. Reena, being on the proper side to be able to greet the other's tentacle, tapped at it hesitantly, curious, but more cautious than Niita ever was or ever would be.

Lironax was becoming more and more delighted every moment he spent talking to Adhara. Well, really, he wasn't do much talking to the older girl; most of his time in the conversation was being spent listening to her tell him about all of the other 'different' children she had met. But he didn't mind, really. This was the first time he had listened to someone speak in such detail about something. Silas didn't usually talk so much or so happily, so it was actually quite interesting to the toddler to here Adhara rant.
Of course, that could have also been because of the subject matter. The idea of so many other children like him and Adhara wandering about Gaia made him very, very excited to meet them all. Children with wings and horn and tentacles... As he thought about all of them, Lir began to wonder where they all were hiding. After all, he had been living with Silas for more nights that he could count, and not once had he seen another 'different' child until today. Stuck on this train of thought, he tuned out the chattering girl for a few moments to ponder over this. Eventually, he came up with the conclusion that the two of them rarely went anywhere where there were a lot of people. It was always to the park or the dusty-musty bookstore, almost never to shops that were on crowded streets like this. The Patience child made a note to ask Silas to come here more often when he was done talking to the strange woman.
He came out of his little trance when he heard his name, and focused his gaze back upon Adhara just in time to hear her say her nickname in return. He smiled widely and nodded eagerly, and said the name to himself a few times to get used to the new syllables. "Aadee. Ahhhhdi! Ahdee. Ahdee and Riita and Neena- I mean Niita and Reena!" He stopped his practice and looked back at the strange girls inside as he listened to Adhara's explanation. It didn't make much sense to him, but the idea that they were sisters sat well with him, so he accepted it without question. There would always be time to ask Silas to clarify things later.
Of course, in all this kerfuffle, he had forgotten about his tentacle being extended, and he jumped a little when Reena poked it. However, he laughed when he saw who it was, and poked her back in return, petting Niita with his hand at the same time. Adhara's tentacles were certainly more friendly than his. As he poked and petted, he asked the older Lust child yet another question, confident she could answer it no matter what it was. "How didju meet alla dose ovver kids? I mean, I've lived here fer a while, an' I've only met you. Are dey hiding somewhere or somefing?" As he said that, Lironax was reminded of something he usually did with Silas when he wasn't working, and bounced up and down excitedly at the thought. "Is it a game, like hide'n'go-seek? Do I just hafta look fer 'em, Adhee?"

Quite happy with the returned affection, Reena didn't hesitate to embarrass Adhara once again by wrapping gleefully around Liron's tentacle, pulling the two of them a little too close together, given the differences in their ages. Adhara paled slightly, sighing in minor irritation as Niita wrapped around the boy's other side, before petting his orange-y hair affectionately, apparently glad to have met yet another Lust child; they seemed to be big fans of those types, especially when they were toddlers, much to Adhara's chagrin.
"Sorry. Reena and Niita get... 'too nice' sometimes. 'Least that's what my dad says. And Almas. And a bunch'a other people have told me that, too. But I still don't understand what they mean, 'cause I never thought that somebody could be too nice," she rambled, pouting softly and petting Lironax's hair, finding that it was easier to comply with what her tentacles wanted rather than try and resist, and then hurt herself in the process. It's job taken over, Niita proceeded to wrap around Liron's waist, content with having the boy pulled overly-close.
"Umm... Noah takes me on trips and stuff a lot of the time, which is how I met a lot of them. I go a lot of different places, too, and a lot of the times that I go to the same place, I see new people there again. You've just got'ta look for them, and they're pretty easy to find most of the time. Just as long as you don't only stay in the same place. It's just co-in-si-dents, though, 'cause sometimes I go for walks and I don't see any of the kids from Seven of Seven around at aaall," she stated with a firm, assured nod of her head. She liked being asked questions, especially with someone so willing to listen to the answers. It made her feel important.

Lucky for the pair of spawn, Lironax wasn't adverse to affection. In fact, given the fact he was a Lust child with a constantly-busy foster father, he almost welcomed it. He had his tentacle wrap around Reena in return, completely oblivious to Adhara's discomfort. He giggled lightly when Niita petted his hair, and reached his hand up to pat the tentacle in return. The semi-apology for the contact was shrugged off happily. "I don't mind, Adhee. I don't fink any could be too nice, eiver. Dat's just silly." When the older girl started patting his head as well, Lir decided it was now too crowded up there and removed his hand. However, with nothing to pet he felt left out, and so he reached his hand out to pet the nearest thing: Adhi's stomach.
As he petted and was pet, Lir listened carefully to Adhi explain how to find the other 'different' children. It made sense, and went along with what he had thought previously: the way to make more friends is go a lot of places and hope you find them. Now he was positive he was going to ask Silas to take him to crowded streets like this more often. The name Seven of Seven rang a strange bell in his mind, but that question was put in the queue behind a more important one. "Are all da kids as nice as you are, Adhee? Or are some of 'em mean?" It made sense to be on the lookout, after all.

Adhi's stomach tensed a bit at the touch from the little boy, and she glanced down at him for a moment, before deciding that it wasn't as though he knew any better, right? He was just small and innocent and naive, just as she'd been at that age. Unfortunately, her naivete had met a tragically young end when she'd tried to find out what 'lust' was on her own, using Guinevere's computer. It had been... informative, but not the sort of thing that she'd really needed to see.
"I think so, too. Grown-ups are really weird about stuff like that. If you hug too much, they think that something's wrong. It's annoying, I think," Adhara replied with a frown and a firm nod. At the next question, she had to think for a moment. "Well... I don't know, really. I haven't met all of them. Most of the ones I've met have been really nice, but Mareike was kind of scary, you know? And... and... well, I haven't met any other scary or mean kids, nope! So I guess I'm kinda lucky like that, huh?"

Lironax innocently continued his petting, watching Adhi as she spoke with a content expression on his face. The older girl certainly liked to talk, but he didn't really mind it. After all, she had answered his questions, so what did it matter how many words she used to do so? Besides, it was a pleasant change to the short and sweet sentences of Silas.
The boy cocked his head to the side, brow furrowing in mild confusion. "But everyone likes hugs. You can't ever hug someone too much, I fink. Growned-ups must be finking backwards or somefing." To prove his point, Lir experimentally wrapped his arms around Adhara's waist and squeezed tightly, expression a picture of young innocence. Looking up at the other, he smiled widely. "See? Nofing bad happened. Hugs are always goo-"
"Lir! What are you doing?"
Still clinging happily to Adhara, Lironax looked over his shoulder to see Silas looking at him with wide eyes. Oblivious to the awkwardness of the situation, the small boy jumped happily at the sight of his guardian. "Hi Daddy! Dis is Adhee and Reena and Niita! Lookee, lookee, she has tentamacules like I do!"
The young man did notice that about the small girl his son was attached to, but quickly put the fact to the side of his mind and tried to persuade Lironax to loosen his grip. "Yes, I see that Lir, but you can't just go up to people and hug them. Now let her go and apologize." Silas himself glanced apologetically at the winged girl.
"But Daddy, Adhee doesn't mind." The small boy looked back up at Adhara for conformation of this statement, skinny arms still wrapped around her waist. "Issokay, right, Adhee?"

Adhara couldn't help but giggle at the toddler's overall naivete, and though she'd only just met him, she already couldn't wait to see him once again. After all, she was probably going to get bigger soon; it had been a few months since the last time, and she was being taken care of really well, so it would be probable that she was on the verge of one of those massive growth spurts once again.
However, her amusement was quickly cut off as the little boy's guardian appeared. Immediately, she dropped her hands from around the young boy, though her tentacles didn't seem to sense the near-danger and simply continued exploring the child's body, starting to get to the point that it was no longer that appropriate, especially given that she was a good bit older than him, if he'd never met any of the other spawn before now.
Adhara smiled nervously when the attention was directed back toward her, and she twitched softly, pulling at her tentacles to try and get them away from the other boy. Unfortunately, that plan wasn't working too well, so she merely smiled very sheepishly at the man, still trying to get Reena and Niita off of the child. "Um- yeah. I don't mind hugs at all, really; my daddy does sometimes, though, and he can get kinda mean about it if he wants to..."

Lironax giggled and squirmed lightly when Reena and Niita moved from his head and began poking him experimentally in the sides. Everywhere it seems they touched tickled terribly, and soon the small boy was shrieking and poking them back in retaliation, completely oblivious to the tense atmosphere that was hovering around the three now. Of course, it made sense that the toddler was overly-ticklish; being a Lust child, he was sensitive to touch.
However, while he was busy being tickled, Silas was watching the strange scene that had met him outside the shop with considerable surprise. He hadn't expected to meet, or for Lironax to meet, rather, another Seven of Seven child, or for the two of them to ( apparently ) get along so swimmingly. If he had been able to get a word in edgewise, he probably would have scolded Lir, glared at the winged girl, and dragged his 'son' home, but with the young boy's raucous laughing, all he could do was sigh and shake his head. Besides, from the look on this 'Ahdee's' face, she obviously didn't mean to semi-molesting his son. Perhaps her tentacles had minds of their own?
Through his laughter, Lir smiled happily at Adhara's reply, and turned to his dad with what might have been a smirk, if he had been a little older and familiar with the feeling of smugness. "See, Daddy? So as long as I don't hug Adhee's daddy, it's all okay!" Batting playfully at the tentacles, a sudden thought struck him, and he looked up at the older Lust child with curious golden eyes. "Where's your daddy, Adhee? Is he off talkin' to peoples, too? That's what mah daddy does a lot." By the door, Silas sighed and rolled his eyes before turning back to his notebook, apparently reading something important.

Reena and Niita seemed to change their minds as they were poked back, and rather than groping at the boy, they started actually trying to tickle at his sides, while Adhara looked on awkwardly, wishing that she could slip away from the boy and see him some other time, maybe when her tentacles weren't being so... friendly. She forcibly smiled up at Silas, nervous with the adult's gaze as well as the behavior of her tentacles. She took the moment while Reena and Niita poked at the child to step away, slowly at first, before taking a big step, making Lironax out of groping range.
"My daddy...?" she asked rhetorically, thinking a moment. "He's on a vacation. He'll probably be back soonish, though. At least, I hope so." She shifted her feet a bit, Reena and Niita outstretching toward Lironax as best they could. She looked around as she heard the bell on top of the door ring softly, the twins exiting and saving her butt for the moment. She smiled nervously at Lir and his father. "Um, it was nice to meet you Lir, and, um, Mister Lironax's dad... sir. I hope I can see you again, but I've got'ta leave, so... buhbye!!" And with that, the twins led her away, her tentacles still outstretching toward the easily-humored little boy.

Silas raised an eyebrow at the older girl's nervous smile, not all that amused. Still, he didn't raise his voice, seeing as he was sure that the situation was out of the little girl's control. When she had successfully moved away from Lironax, the young man walked forward and placed a protective hand on his shoulder, lest... He didn't know; something else fell out of the sky and tried to grope his son.
Lironax, for his part, frowned slightly when Reena and Niita went away. He liked being tickled, after all. He cocked his head curiously at Adhara's response, not quite sure what all the words meant. "Oh.. okay.. Wull, I-I hope he comes back, too! The little boy watched in mild dismay as his new friend left with the two... what was the word.. twins all of a sudden, but still smiled and waved at the older girl's back, his tentacle reached out towards hers. "Buh-bye, Adhee! I hope to see you 'gain, too!"
Silas simply rolled his eyes and pulled gently on his child's shoulder. "C'mon Lir; it's time to go home." Taking the smaller hand in his, he half-led the toddler on the way back to their little apartment. Lironax looked over his shoulder at Adhara's retreating back for a good minute, before turning his gaze up to his father. "Daddy, what's a vay-cay-shun?"
