User ImageMaion flapped his mighty wings, his thoughts lingering on Moon as they often did; it had been a while now since she had started her training. It seemed that she was nearly ready to take charge of protecting her herd, a task he was more than happy to help her with yet he knew, deep inside that such a decision could only be decided by her. He had not yet entrusted her with his own feelings although it had been a while now since he first came to the realisation that he was in love with her. The way her hair flowed in the breeze, the way her voice rang so harmoniously in his mind with each word, she had him captivated. Yet he knew that with each meeting he was revealing more and more details about himself, it seemed that she would be the only one that would make his heart satisfied.

He circled the lake that they usually longed to visit, but since she was not there it seemed like a pointless activity. Perhaps finding some company would allow him to push her image from his mind, if only for a moment. It was almost painful that he could not let her know that he would visit her training ground, speaking to the trainer in an effort to discover how he could help. All that was left for him to do now was to challenge her, forcing her to overcome her weakness. He could only hope that she would forgive him.

Floating gentle towards the ground he landed with the softest of 'thuds', from the information his mother had revealed all Angeni were blessed with such elegance, yet his heart wanted so much more than a 'breed' to give his life meaning. He wanted to earn respect the way his Mother had, the face of Scythe still bore deep into his mind, he seemed to automatically respect Maion, at least before he learnt that his Moon was infact his youngest daughter Sengdroma. The world seemed to be shrinking to him, everywhere he turned Moon was touching his life force in some way, or at least her family was.

Maion stood tall, his wings tucked neatly into his body, the breeze was warm considering that there was a thick blanket of snow laying soft below his feet, it stuck to the bottom of his fur as if he was coated in glue. It was cooling. The stars always looked so much more brilliant when it snowed, they peeked through the clouds and their twinkling light captured the snowflakes so that they where momentarily illuminated as the fell gracefully to the floor. This was defiantly walking weather.

Taking yet another, slight laboured, step he began the long trudge through the snow. The plants that grew in the plains where different to the rest of the land he had seen, it was flat and almost dull in appearance, with the odd weed growing happily in a desperate attempt to lap up the drizzling light from the sun. Perhaps it was a pathetic existence but the fact was that it was still the most beautiful place for the snow, equalled only by the highest of mountaintops. Grunting softly under his breath he scanned the landscape, his mind seemed relatively blank at the moment; his recent encounters had exhausted him. Finding a nice spot by a lonely tree he felt sympathy towards it and continued his trudge, as he reached it small piles of snow slipped from its waxy leaves to the ground to be lost in the blanket of white. Sitting down he scanned the surroundings again, there seemed to be no movement or footsteps other than his own, but looks could be deceiving when the snow continued to fall in this mannerisms.

Suddenly Maion felt his mane start to move so moved his eye towards the movement, in the next moment Elijah popped her head out starring directly at his eye before disappearing once more. He grunted under his breath, "Silly creature."

User ImageAether was laying on the edge of the cliffs...his cliffs. He had been here for a few months now and he loved the area. He had flown all over though. He sighed and looked into the forest hoping to see Kin coming to see him again...She hadn't been by for a long while and he missed her. He fanned his wings out in the sunshine and closed his eyes as he thought about Kin. His long hair floated about in the wind as he difted off into a dazed nap. The sun shining on him, warming his outstretched wings and his body making him so comfortable he couldn't help but be calm and rest.

After a while he stood up and flapped his wings a few times to stretch them. He felt the warmth flow through his muscles and he was awake instantly. He lifted up into th ground after a few flaps. He dropped down the cliff and flew over the lake at the bottom of it. He lifted up and let his legs skim the water and then took off into the clouds. He flew about for a bit then headed down to fly over the trees looking for some good grass. He saw a black male in the distance and tilted his head.

This male had large wings and lots of hair. He looked kind of mean but Aether was interested. He angled down and flew closer. He looked at the male and then landed a few feet behind him. "Hello. Do you need any help?" he asked trying to be friendly.

Snow continued to fall all around Maion as his eyes scanned the whitened landscape. It was not often that the snow came to these parts but now that it had arrived it seemed that there was little intention of it leaving in a hurry. Sighing he lifted his head up, the cold was sharp on his belly as his body adjusted to his position. His hair flying with the gentle breeze, coating it with a thin layer of white as the snow began to settle. Maion could not understand why anyone could hate such beautiful weather, yes it was colder, and such harshness made finding food more difficult, but surely it was not something to be spoken so poorly about. As he faded off into his own thoughts he was sharply awoken by a stallions voice. His eyes narrowed as they saw a white and blue figure before him, the white seemed brighter than the snow but the blue seemed somehow out of place on this darkened snowy day. Standing to his feet slightly defensively he moved his head to allow the locks of hair to stumble to the ground. His wings seemed so familiar, as if he had seen them before, but perhaps on a different stallion. Pushing such silliness to one side he allowed his wings to spread, all four of them held in a striking position to prove simply how large he was.

Maion was a gentle creature, just like all Angeni where, yet caution was never something he would forget. Kalona and Skinwalkers where the most untrustworthy of all the breeds he had seen yet he simply believed that Mutants where also unpredictable. Yet the tone seemed friendly, unthreatening. Adjusting his wings so that he could draw them tight beside him once more he flickered the tips of his wings, each feather displacing a small amount of snow making it appear almost as if he was trapped within a snow globe. Allowing a small smile to peel across his lips he spoke, his voice strong as always. "I do not need any help in enjoying the beauty of the falling snow," he paused, almost forgetting that not everyone had the same appreciation for the world as he did. Smiling he licked his cold lips for a moment to warm them up before continuing, "After all it is not often that we see such wonder in these parts." Maion had now seen most of the world, the Northern hemispheres seemed more likely to receive the harsh weather were as the Southern hemisphere where he found himself now tended to only experience the great winds. Perhaps this was a sign, after all the snow was usually an indication of a new beginning, a fresh start on a blank white canvas. "Thank you," he added. After all the gesture was a considerate once, just simply not needed.

His mind wandered back to Moon (Sengdroma) for a moment, she would love to see the snow. perhaps one day he would ask her to travel with him so that he could share the wonders of the world with her. His heart felt heavy within his chest, for he knew that being flightless there was only so far he could show her before she would have to turn back.

Turning his attention back towards the stranger for a moment he continued to smile, his features soft and gentle as he attempted to copy the soothing movements that his Mother had once shown him. Her words still haunted him but as he thought of Moon he knew that she was wrong, love did not stick to the same breed, nor did it care for wings and horns and features of likeness. All that matter was the feelings he held so tightly within his heart. Speaking once more, his voice still strong he said, "My name is Maion stranger. May I ask you for your own?"

Aether watched as the black male as he flared his wings and looked over him while he stood up. Aether looked him over as well. He was an Angeni, and had longer hair then he even did, and a horn. Aether was glad this was an angeni who was very unlikly to attack him cause he had no desire to fight something with a horn like that. As he spoke Aether looked around at the beautiful snow, watching it fall and seeing how pretty it was on the trees. "Yeah i guess your right. I just wanted to make sure you wernt hurt and had fallen into the snow." He said as he nodded his head in response to his thanks you. He smiled, glad that he lived in this area and could see the wonders that the mountains had to offer every day. Though he wanted to travel and see other places as well and see what was happening in those places too. But for now he didn't want to be any where else but on these mountains.

Aether watched as the stallion looked to the sky and seemed to be lost in thought for a little bit. He let him think about what ever it was he was thinking about, silence was nice on these pretty nights. But then he came back and asked for his name.

"My name is Aether. Its very nice to meet you Maion." He said as he smiled a little. He licked his lips trying to get feeling back into them after all his flying and his breathing in the cold weather.

Maion turned his mighty head towards the Aether, his eyes shimmered in the snow, as the flakes clung to him for a moment before melting. The creature before him seemed ’different’ somehow, he seemed to enjoy the quiet also, yet he made no real effort to enjoy the company of others, or at least he made no intention to offer information on his own. Introverted personality perhaps?

Smiling softly he observed how the snow floated towards the other stallion, and seemed to hide within the blue and white colours of his pelt, perfect camouflage for such weather. Maion was only good at hiding when he was flying high above in the starry night sky, yet who needed such abilities when you could just fly higher than most could see? Sighing he turned once more. His mind floated to his mate, although he was stuck here waiting for her to finish her training he knew that it would be worth it for just one more moment to share with her. Yet he was curious even if she would even take him back after the painful look that had been peeled upon her face when he left her standing beside Sofiel. Suddenly remembering his company once more he spoke. "Have you ever been in love?"

Love was the most interesting and unpredictable adventure of all, yet as the snow continued to fall his heart was heavy with the notion that he had ruined his chances with the only creature he could ever love. And due to his nature he knew that is Moon would not have him his heart would never open up in the same way to anyone else, fear of rejection perhaps, or perhaps it was simply because his heart knew that she was the one. This flightless creature of beauty and wonder. Her silent ways had opened up his senses for the first time in all his travels.

Although he did not know this stranger, he felt as if he was familiar, as if some small part of him had the same essence to the creatures he had met recently, yet this did not seem to make sense to Maion, after all he had recently spent most of his time in the company of Moons father Scythe, her mother Vara and their familiar as he waited for her return. Why would that provide a familiarity now? His eyes looked towards the path; they lived near here, near the base of the mountain in fact. They had lived so close all of their lives and never met until that fateful day three Moons ago. It was then that another question came to mind, not of love or special feelings, but of history and place. "Where do you come from mighty Aether?"
