 Lila was very excited because she was getting bigger and stronger and today her mama was letting them play on the beach. Lila loved the water but the tree just beyond the beach were of more interest to her at the moment. She bounded around looking for her brother Tendaji and as soon as she found him she pounced on him.
"Hey Tenji," Lila looked toward the tree and grinned, "see those tree over there. We should go explore, with the water distracting everyone we should be able to slip away."
Lila bounced around smiling. "Come on Tenji," she whispered, "Lets away, the winds of adventure are callllinngg."

 Tendaji was dozing on the warm sand as the rest of his family was playing on the beach. He was day dreaming of climbing the clouds into the sky, the dream was going great until his paw slipped and he started to fall so when Lila pounced on him hes heart beat was racing and it took him a moment or two to reorient himself.
When his sister pointed out the tree Tendaji hesitated remembering the dream but it only lasted a moment as his natural love of climbing kicked in.
He got to his feet and with a jaunty step started to walk to the tree. "Arr! The fair winds of adventure are blowing us to the land of the leaf people. Hoist the anchor first mate and let adventure be are navigator." He whispered, trying to to attract attention to them.

Lila bounded off toward the tree her tail swinging behind her. She was so excited for adventure and she could not wait to greet the tree people. She quickly made she way over to a tree and called, "Land ho," to her brother, but not to loudly.
Lila put one paw on the tree then stepped back and bowed to the tree. "I Lilavati, wish entrance to the land of the leaf beings."
The wind blew and the leaves shook and Lila giggled taking it as a sign she was allowed to come up. Lila placed her paws back on the and began to hoist herself up digging her claws into the bark and climbing up until she reached a low branch.
"Hurry up, Tenji," she called to her brother before turning to climb out of sight.

Tendaji echoed Lila's move when he finally got to the tree, he bowed then said in a overly deep voice, "I, Tendaji, Leader of the adventuresome tribe Daydreamers, wish entrance to the land of the leaf beings." But unlike his sister no wind blew the leaves right away.
He tried again but this time he performed a swiping bow; his right front paw came swiping out while his left front paw was drawn into his chest, balancing on one arm he lowered his upper body until it was just above the sand and his tail was wrapped around his hindquarters leaving the tip of his tail at his hip. "My dearest Friends I, Tendaji, wish with all my heart to enter your bountiful kingdom and join my sister in your emerald land."
This time the wind blew and the leaves rattled so Tendaji rose from his bow and started to climb the tree, he quickly reached the branch that Lila was waiting on but he continued to climb. "Come my sister the queen is waiting for us."

Lila did not appreciate her brother calling himself the leader and quickly voiced her opinion. "Hey you're not the leader. I am."
She noticed the tree gave no responce and laughed so hard she nearly lost her footing. It served him right for declaring himself the leader of her adventure. She watched as her brother preformed an overdramatic bow and gained entrance. Lila was sorely tempted to roll her eye.
Her brother made his was up to and then passed her and told her to come one. Lila decided it was a race than. "I bet I can beat you to the queen's home."
Lila climbed faster jumping from branch to branch when the branches became closer together and moving into another tree all together when it seemed as though the tree tops just melded together.

When Lila started to race Tendaji to the top of the tree, he picked up his speed. It was not long until he was just a shoulder length behind his sister, "I'm going to win!" He said as he saw sunlight flash through the top of the leaves just a few feet above them. He dug his back claws in and pushed off as fast as he could, traveling the last few feet in moments.
His head popped through the canopy scaring a bird into flight. "Oh wow!" he said as he looked around him. He could see the beach far below with his family playing in the surf, the trees that stretched into the rogue lands, he could even see some of the grasslands of the rogue lands.

Lila head popped up through the leaves about the same time as her brother and she figured a tie was good. She looked down to the beach where she would see her siblings playing. She couldn't see And, but she was sure she knew why. After what happened she should be afraid of the water too, but Lila just couldn't be.
She looked around and could see the grasses of the rogue lands and turning again she could even she where the dens were, but she could not pick out her family's den. "We are up so high," she called excitedly.
The wind blew and the leaves moved tickling Lila's face and she giggle a bit before going back down into the tree. "Let's check out the branches and see it the leaf people made their home in them."

Tedaji watched as Lila headed back down the tree, he waited a few more moments before following his sister. "The legends say that the People love the cool shaded areas where the green light shines." He said as he nodded to a area where the sun light filtered through the leaves causing a faint green light to permeate the shadowy areas of branches. "But they are shy so we must visit a spot that we had not been." There were adjoining trees that they could explore.

Lila wondered where her brother got all his crazy ideas from, but said nothing about it as he was so fun to play with. He was like her, that much was obvious. She began to look around for the cool areas with green light, hopping from branch to branch. She came up to the light quietly so she would not scare of the leaf people, but she did not find anything.
Lila thought it would be best to let her brother pretend to find something first, so she turned around and made her way over to where he was.
"Did you find one yet? I haven't. They must be really good at hiding."
Just then a leaf above them wiggled as the wind blew and flew to the ground and Lila wondered if the leaf people like to ride the leafs. She thought it would be fun.
"Tenji, do you think it would be neat if we could ride on the leafs and float to the ground," she asked forgetting the game for a moment.

Tendaji watched his sister bounce from branch to branch and was laughing by the time she came upon a spot in the trees that the leaf people would dwell. He was looking for the cool areas with green light when a flash of light caught his attention.
There in the spot where a branch met the trunk the sun light was catching on some hardened sap making it shine and sparkle. When Lila asked if he found one of the People he stage whispered "Not yet but I think I found one of the windows into there dwellings." nodding to the sap droplet.
The leaf that Lila mentioned floated passed him and he watched, along with his sister, as it flew to the ground. "To ride a leaf? Maybe not a leaf but something bigger, like a long down a river. Now that would be a real adventure."

Lila investigated said window when her brother said he thought he found one, but she did not see anything. She was happy for the distraction of conversation.
"The leaf would have to be big of course, like the ones in the jungle. You know from the story mama told us. When she got lost in the jungle and met a cub, um, Jivu I think and her mama, um, Chikala."
Lila thought back on the story but wasnt sure whether she had gotten the names right.
"A log would be fun to ride down the river though. I know I would love the water splashing around and the excitement of it all."
Lila looked back to the window her brother thought her had found and sighed, "Do you think they will come out, after all we are really big to such shy beings? I think maybe we should just leave them alone and besides I think I hear the ocean calling me."

Tendaji just looked at his sister and shrugged, "Your probably right, we are really big to such small beings but I'm not ready to go yet. You can go to the ocean and I'm going to climb some more." He started to climb to a higher branch and once on it wanted to see the view so he walked out onto the branch not paying attention to the ominous creaking of the branch itself.
He was almost to the end of the branch when all of a sudden the branch let out a loud crack and started to separate from the trunk of the tree. Tendaji lost his footing and fell. He scrambled desperately to grab a branch with his claws. Finally he landed square on a branch near the bottom of the tree, knocking the wind out of him. When he was finally able to breath a little he looked up and saw Lila standing on the branch just above him, he wheezed out, "I think its time to go."

Lila started to climb down as her brother climbed up hoping he would be fine without her, but he froze when she heard the loud crack sound from above. She nearly fell from the branch she was on from the fright of the other branch falling so close to her.
She looked down to see her brother and jumped down to him looked scared and worried. "Are you okay," she said nuzzling him, but when he said he thought it was time to go too nodded and scurried down heading to the beach, this time making sure her brother was close behind.
