Last year I was first of 5 flutes.
This year I sit 3rd, yet I play first flute while second chair plays second flute.

I think I'm supposed to be second chair, but honestly, if I had to sit between the current first and second chair, I'd go insane, so it's all good.

In my orchestra I sit 3rd oboe out of 3. My teacher is first and shes got like 50 years on me, the other has like 10 years on me. Im the baby so I sit last.

I am first chair flute out of 6! It's pretty much no competition, and my teacher for what ever reason, won't move me up to Wind Ensemble (I'm in Symphonic). She told me that my rhythms weren't good enough last year...so I worked my butt off all summer, seriously I sight read something new everyday, worked on scales everyday, and everything else I could think of, but she still won't move me up. I sight read Deerpath Dances perfectly (which is straight sixthnote rhythms) and the girls in Wind Ensemble didn't! I'm her hardest working student (literally...most everyone hates her so they do the bare minimum, while I go over the top in everything I do...my grade? It's a 120 right now. Yay...I know...major band geek) Anyway, my friend Chris says that she needs somebody with experience in the class...They've got Jenny, who's a sophmore and is second chair! I don't care if I'm the senior, I should be able to move up if I'm good enough (which I am). Anyway...ya.

We just eliminated chair positions this year. Instead the sections get assigned a partner every so often that they both play the same part on. I'm a percussionist so I have no chair anyway.

I sit 1st out of 11 trombones. I have every since I was a freshman, and I'm a junior now.

last of 3 euphoniums. but when we was done gettin chair tests i was tied 4 second nd da 1st place prsn was just .25 ahead of us. nd then we had anothr go nd da othr prsn beat me by .25. so i dnt think im da worst evr.

for three years in a row i was 1st chair. but something happened this past year that caused some depression and i didn't practice at all for the audition. i got last this year. not proud of it, but next year i'll do MUCH better now that the b***h who caused my problems is out of my life. but yeah. but over marching season i will be 1st vibraphone.
