If you haven seen Twilight yet go see it it's awesome. Also I attend Peninsula College and the Forks extension enrollment has shot up. It is a beautiful place to be and the main campus is very cool. Check it out if your looking for a school to go to.

Hah, that's funny. I've never been there myself though.

Although I almost yelled an outside "YAYY!" when I read that they wanted to visit Portland in the book this morning.

That's where I'm from.

=D

I've loved the Forks area my whole life. I think it's fantastic what the Twighlight books have done for the area. I was there this summer and the whole town has all these books to sign in for fans and special items in the shops, it's really cute.

Anyone else notice that every local new station now shows the location of forks any time they show the weather?

Honestly, has the twilight series really made that much of an impact on the daily lives of us washingtonians? Has pop-culture finnaly taken the last step merging with such rigid institutions like local media?

This isn't a political party based thing either, both the local CNN and Fox news affiliates have apparently jumped on the the band wagon.... Every one is apperently trying to get a piece of this so called pop-culture phenomenon.

Just an observation I thought was worth mentioning...

I did notice, but haven't they always featured Forks for coastal weather? It's the only town really in that area. If not it is pretty crazy they would include it now.

I strongly dislike twilight but I do like that it has helped Forks to get a bit of tourist money. Also I live in Port Angeles and it was fun to watch all the little twilight fans freaking out over all the stuff I've grown up around xp very funny. My friend Missa and I even folled a few twilight fans for a while and freaked them out sweatdrop

I heard the first book was good but I haven't read it yet. I suppose I will after I finish Brisinger. I saw the movie, and it was alright. Way better than the Eragon movie (then again it could be because I didn't read the book first =P).

So much sweet jailbait in that movie.

So...

so much.

I agree. I read the first book... Liked it mildly, so I read the second book... x_x I never made it past that. The movie, I think, is dreadful... :S

However, I can see that the series has given Forks some tourism, which is nice. Although, it does get quite annoying after a while... I live in Bellingham, but whenever someone asks me where I live and I tell them western Washington, they say, "Like Edward and Bella?! whee "

gonk

But anyway... Great for Forks! :G

Forks is in a beautiful area, but the town sucks XD Has anyone noticed that the kids in the high school in the movie are all wearing designer clothing? LOL the closest thing to a clothing store in Forks is some hardware store that has a random selection of clothing in half of it. More like a traditional general store, perhaps. Well, I'm sure the people who live in Forks go outside of their town, but it was just something I noticed.

I have never actually been to Forks... But I did graduate from the Forks (Quillyute) School district. I went to their internet school, Insight School of Washington.

My family owns (or I guess owned, I dunno what's happened since I was last there) A mint plantation & ranch in Forks. It's a beautiful little place, lots of great space to ride horses and whatnot.

Personally, I dislike the Twilight series. I'm not going to rag on it, or bash others who do like it, it just isn't my thing. I just hope people aren't going there, thinking that Twilight's glorified it and it's some amazing city full of wild people and interesting sites . . . because, frankly, it is not. More the place for someone to go if you like to escape the city hustle & bustle.

I'm not into Twilight at all, but a few of my friends are, and the dragged me along to their pilgrimage to Forks a few weeks ago.

It's a pretty nice small town. La Push is an amazing beach. I'd like to see it during the summertime.

Part of me feels bad for what Twilight did for Forks. Seeing all the 13 year old girls running around in Twilight sightseeing groups. Agh.

I passed through Forks on my way to La Push. Looked to me like the entire town is riding the Twilight band wagon as far as it will take them, and all the surrounding towns with it
