I was really weirded out by the first one. Choirs make a little more sense to me...
Personally I love my choir days...but the closest we ever got to that was singing "When You Believe" from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack (love that movie!). Of course I still have no idea what the Hebrew means.
Ooh, I'll translate it for you! (happy that I finaly have some practical skills - the sentences in the brackets are the mean comments of mine and aren't a part of the song)
[hebrew] "That's a very sad (yes, the lyrics are bad in hebrew too!) song about someone who everyone are waiting for.
dad, mom, children, the way that they are praying for him...
how the heart get broken in each morning
why didn't he already come?
there is no doubt nor a dilemma even if he is tarring
[chorus, english] "everybody want's moshiach, everybody want's,
everybody want's moshiach, [yidish] well well [hebrew] that will come.
everybody want's moshiach, everybody want's,
everybody want's moshiach NOW!
[english] "this song comes from our heart (yeah, right)
about the mashiach, hear our sound,
we wants him and every day
never never stop to pray.
children, parents, young and old,
all the jews around the world,
waits for him for he should come,
oh mashiach, please come right now!
Mashiach, Mashiach, Mashiach...
Mashiach, Mashiach, Mashiach...
[hebrew] I can't take it anymore!
[chorus, english] "everybody want's moshiach, everybody want's,
everybody want's moshiach, [yidish] well well [hebrew] that will come.
everybody want's moshiach, everybody want's,
everybody want's moshiach NOW!
[english] yeah...
[hebrew] I live in a destructive, scrambled reality.
No I don't have any spare moment,
the whole country is flipping over
and inside the heart there is a pary: "Our father and lord"
that here he comes, the Mashiach, to us.
There is no place for any despair
- said already Rabi Nachman,
and the broken heart is in fact already fixed.
And we won't get quiet and I already promise you that
seeing from distance - that's the light of the mashiach... (That's the light of the camras & fame, dammy)
[english] yeah!
everybody...
everybody...
[chorus, english] "everybody want's moshiach, everybody want's,
everybody want's moshiach, [yidish] well well [hebrew] that will come.
everybody want's moshiach, everybody want's,
everybody want's moshiach NOW!"
man, I must could've found the lyrics in google but it was fun. ^_^
I can't belive I listen to that song till the end...
