It was the awesomenest stream he had ever seen. There were rocks that looked to Lex like stepping stones to get across the stream. The stream wasn't too fast nor too slow, a perfect amount of movement. It seemed like the type of stream that would be a home to different fish and perhaps water plants and insects too. At the moment, Lex was considering going on the stepping stones to get across. There were six rocks, all of varying sizes and shapes.
He could pretend he was trying to escape from a big, scary monster and that the rocks were a bridge that was old and missing pieces in areas. Now that would be cool! Well as long as it was all pretend of course. Lex wouldn't know what to do if he was up against some big, scary monster with only an old, somewhat broken bridge as his only route to escape. Frightening, it really would be. But he was just using his imagination, not at all related to reality and therefore he should enjoy himself. Lex did like using his imagination.
He could be anything he wanted, be big and strong like dad or perhaps a traveler like mom. Absolutely anything! A few days ago he pretended to be a fish, it didn't work out as well, it was hard to breathe under water. Though, it was hard at times using his imagination. Lex liked playing with others and playing alone mostly was hard since some of the ideas he concocted would work only if he had more friends to play with. Or possibly his brothers, he wondered where they were.
He saw them earliar, about morning but now he had no idea where they were. Of course they could be back where their home was, since the stream wasn't exactly that close to their home, perhaps he should go back home and check? No, he had to face this bridge first. Yes. Lex grinned, nodded once to himself and stared at the rocks once more with his gray eyes. The colt backed up before sprinting, jumping and landing swiftly on the first rock.
Lex was so surprised that he actually made it, without falling in at all, that he slipped off the rock and landed in the stream. The water splashed him, damping his upper half and soaking his legs. "Oh darn! I fell off the bridge." He paused. "Wait, am I dead? Not at all! The bridge wasn't that far from the ground....er.....water." Lex laughed as he crossed the rest of the stream and pulled himself out of the water. Shaking the water off of himself, he turned and stuck his tongue out at the invisible big, scary monster.

It was disappointing, really. To go through all the trouble of looking for an adventure or a new encounter after carefully sneaking away from the rest of his family, then finding nothing. At all. Of course, there were some trees, and some shrubs, and some fallen leaves, but one could only take so much of "that stuff". Especially if that someone was Taigi.
He set out bright and early, as always, and after browsing through all of the wonders that the forest had to offer again, decided that there was nothing to discover today. So, resigned, he now made his way back home. I guess it's one of those days...
Something stopped him midway, however. It was the familiar voice that he heard many times before. The voice of his brother. Accompanying the far-off prattle was the rush of a stream, both fairly near. Curious about which brother it was, even though it sounded most like Lex, Taigi began walking in that direction.
He arrived to see that it was indeed his "older" brother, the one also graced with the unicorn's tail and horn, traits inherited from their mother. And as he stepped into the area, which was clear of trees for the stream's sake, he was greeted by a rush of water droplets from said brother's mane. He squinted his eyes against the water, laughing, "he-ey, Lex!"

The day had started off well enough. Unlike his brothers, Nikolai had gotten a much later start. Chided by their father for a few minutes for sleeping in so late before he bounded off to explore readily.
'The more you sleep the day away, the more you'll miss out on life.' Father had said.
But he had many days ahead of him. So why couldn't Nikolai sleep in a little later? Either way, he was happy to be out and about. Though sticking fairly close to home most of the time. Not too close though. He didn't want anyone else interrupting his fun! Especially not father.
As the sun rose higher into the sky, the little colt found himself wandering in an area he had not been to before. But the sudden sound of one voice after another caught his attention. They were familiar voices. And quietly he made his way towards them. Squeezing between trees and clambering through tall under brush until he finally found his way to a clump of bushes near a stream.
And wouldn't you know? He found his two brothers. A wide grin spread across his face as a little gleam of deviousness glinted in his eye. With one silent leap over the clump of bushes...he soon found himself with his lower half of the body stuck in the bush while his front half hit the ground in front of him hard. Sending a rattle through his head. Short, pure white tail flopping over his back as ears came back against his small skull. "OW!" That hadn't exactly gone the way he planned.

Still shaking the water out of his hair and coat, Lex hadn't noticed Taigi nearing him, until he heard his voice. Oops, he must of splashed Taigi. Complete accident but Lex still felt bad about it. "Sorry, didn't see you there." He grinned, sheepishly. "What'cha doing out here? Playing a game?" He inquired, curious. He always did wonder what Taigi and Nikolai got up to when they went and did their own thing. Did they meet other Soquili too? Or did they play on their own, exploring the world, well at least the world around their home since running off too far could be bad since who knows what creatures lived out there.
That was when a noise came, a loud noise of someone or something smacking into the ground. Startled, he backed up from the noise. Craning his head, he tried to see what or who made the noise. Hope it wasn't anything too terrifying.
No, not too terrifying at all. Seeing the source of noise made Lex let out a sigh of relief. It was also tempting to laugh but he really shouldn't considering he slipped off a rock earlier, everyone had their moments. He wasn't sure what Nikolai had been doing to get himself in such a predicament but whatever it was, his lower half was in the bush and his front half on the ground.
"Nikolai! You stuck?" Lex trotted over there, looking down at his youngest brother.

Games. His older brother seemed to be the most playful. Taigi didn't know if actually exploring the forest and meeting other, sometimes older Soquili would be considered a game. But he found himself grinning back at Lex, "yeah, a game!"
Tai had also whipped his head around at the noise. And there was his younger brother, Nikolai. Who seemed to be stuck. In a bush. The colt had to suppress a snigger as he followed Lex to where Nik lay.
"Gravity being mean to ya, Nik?" He curiously circled around his brother and the red fog surrounding him to check the damage. It wasn't too bad, his brother needn't do much else but wiggle out of the bramble.
Being "helpful", Taigi brought his horn to the bush, cautiously using it to lift some of the twiggy mess from his brother's coat. Apparently, being helpful wasn't the brightest idea, as a thin branch wound into his mane. It was one of those branches, the young ones that were green beneath the crusty bark, the ones that were very hard to break.

He gave a sheepish grin to both brothers as they came over. Tail flicking back and forth against his back. "No, I think I can get out." Nikolai gave a few wiggles of his body until he rolled out onto his back. Doing a few more wiggles on the ground before rolling onto his tummy and lifting himself up to his hooves. A quick body shake to relieve himself of any dirt and leaves that had decided to make a home upon his small body.
Nikolai grinned especially wide at Taigi now, as it seemed his helpfulness had gotten him a bit stuck. "Nope! Gravity is my friend. We just had a difference of opinion is all." He laughed, rather loudly. Brushing the little tumble off like he had done it on purpose.
"I just happened by and saw you guys over here. Wonderin' what all the hub bub was about is all." The little colt shuffled on his hooves lightly, leaning over and nipping playfully at Lex's ear.

Lex was curious to know what game Taigi had been playing but that could wait, first Nikolai had to get himself unstuck. Possibly they could play a game together after, that would be awesome.
Lex was thinking on how Nikolai could get out when Taigi helped. Lex stayed back, watching as Taigi soon became stuck too. But Nikolai had gotten himself unstuck so at least the two of them should be able to get Taigi out, two heads better than one, right? Lex sure hoped so since getting yourself stuck did not seem like a fun thing to do. What if they all got stuck again, well it'd be his first time getting stuck in the bush but still! Who'd help them, then? They'd sure be a funny sight though. He could see it clearly. Lex laughed, it definitely was funny. To him.
"Think you can get out Taigi or did you want some help with that?" He neared the bush carefully, it looked like a hard branch to get out of. At the feel of the n**, though playful, Lex let out a cry of surprise. He hadn't expected it. It didn't hurt but it had startled him.
"Hub bub?" What was a hub bub? He blinked. "Well, we just came across each other. Er...me and Taigi. And you're here now too. Were you playing a game too?" He asked. Is that what Nikolai wanted to know?

How embarrassing. Now Taigi's mane tied him to the wiry bush, his wavy locks helplessly wound about the twig. And then Lex asked him if he needed assistance.
"No, I'm good!" Asking, or even accepting help would just give Nik something to laugh about. And he wasn't going to let that happen, no sir.
Writhing wouldn't do any good, his situation was nothing like Nikolai's had been. His horn wouldn't help and he didn't feel much like tearing away and leaving chunks of his mane in the bushes. So, while Lex became distracted by Nikolai's speech and they picked up a conversation, Taigi searched for a way out.
A promising idea crossed his mind several moments later, and he acted fast. He snapped his strong teeth at the twig suddenly, easily sinking into and through the still-fresh insides. Sure, there was still a thin, snapped twig tangled in his hair, but at least he was free! And the twig would have to come out eventually, wouldn't it? Carefully, he stepped away, keeping his head high in fear of getting ensnared once more. He was glad to be a unicorn; strong, ebony horn, though still short and a lion's tail with a scarce amount of hair at the tip.

"A game? Well, not really." He gave a little snort, causing his short, white bangs to flip upward then back down against his forehead. "I was just out an about is all. Explorin'. Though I guess you could call exploring a game if you put a little imagination into it." Of course, Nikolai always did come up with ways to make his little walks more entertaining. Seeing the world differently than what it was. That's basically how most of it went anyway.
He cast a white colored eye towards Taigi. Snickering at the twig that was still caught in his mane. "Geez Taigi. You trying to grow another horn? As if one wasn't enough. Always have to be better than everyone." Teetering forward, he snatched the twig out of his brother's mane. Giving it a quick tug before it came out. Only a few strands of black hair still attached to it.
Tossing the stick to the ground, the colt grinned at them both. "If you wanna play a game though Lex, I'm all for it. Just name the game!"

Oh good! Taigi did manage to get out, all on his very own too. Lex was glad for that, he hadn't really wanted to help but he thought it to be nice to ask.
Exploring could be a game, a great one at that. Lex did agree with Nikolai's words that if you put a little imagination into it, exploring could be a game, actually anything could then be turned into a game. Well, sort of. But Lex knew that he couldn't use his imagination all the time since he did still need to be in tune with what was real and what wasn't. Though the times he did use his imagination, like he had been earlier, were fun.
He smiled at the thought of Taigi having two horns, he never thought of having two horns before but Lex did wonder if that was possible. Did a unicorn just one day decide they wanted another horn and it grew? Was that painful? Or were some horses just lucky or perhaps not so lucky in having two or possibly more horns? Or maybe it was magic? Was magic even real? Lex hoped it was, that would be cool. To have magic and do awesome, good things.
Which game was he to choose? There was so many to choose from! How exactly was he supposed to pick the very best one? "Oh." He paused, thinking. "Well you or Taigi can choose. Doesn't matter which game, I'm all for whatever is picked!" Lex liked games like tag or hide-and-go-seek or some sort of adventure game where they imagined stuff but Lex supposed there were better ideas than those.

Taigi protested as Nikolai came within perilous distance of his self, then more so as he tugged at the twig and pulled it out. After it was out, he but huffed at his brother, miserably watching the twig --his strands of hair and all-- quickly falling and rolling some ways away before becoming still, "that was completely unnecessary, Nik!"
Well, it would be interesting to have two horns. "Weren't there stories about Soquili with two horns... More?" Taigi thought aloud without meaning to. But it was an interesting topic, as well. He recalled a passing Soquili once telling him stories of gruesome beasts called "Kalona" that devoured flesh of their brethren and shuddered at the thought. Eating another horse's flesh was a thought that was just plain nasty.
But in his mind, he quickly steered off this topic to mentally retort to his brother's words, 'I do not have to be better than everyone!'
