FerdinandThe wind howled gently throughout the forest. It wasn't dense but on a summer day, the trees above would cover a majority of the sunlight to penetrate the forest floor. Before, it was lush green grass, not trampled by children or other Ulaya, but now, it was covered in a layer of white snow. The leaves had come and gone in the blink of an eye and now the trees were left bare with nothing to protect them. not even a warm hand knitted sweater. Within the snow sat Ferdinand. He hadn't expected it to snow since it was still only the eleventh month. He just stared as the snow drifted from overheads and through the bare branches. He raised a grey and black paw up with his pads up. He caught a snowflake but it melted almost immediately. He stared and thought to himself if there were any two snowflakes that were alike and would not melt at the touch of his paw.

In the middle of an empty forest, filled with hybernating trees. there sits a freezing and sneezing ranbow colored Ulaya. But despite the freezing tempuratures, he couldn't help but smile and be merry at the christmas white snow that came down slowly all around him. Susan breathed out slowly, staring up at the white cloud that streamed from his nose and mouth, as well as the tiny flakes that floated through the cloud. He giggles like an amused child; until of course the wind blew and it had him shivering and uddles up even more in the abandoned hollowed out tree that he currently found himself in. He couldn't help but curl up securely and back up into the tree a bit more, and away from the wind. He closed his eyes and listened to his surroundings, he knew he couldn't fall asleep, so he just decided to sit and listen.

Ferdinand didn't notice anything in the winter wonderland, but decided to himself silently that anything was better than sitting around like a duck in preparation for someone's dinner. The cold didn't bother Ferdinand at all. The heat was the one to get to him. It made him sweat. And he didn't like sweating. It felt disgusting up to his fur. He trotted about towards a random direction. He had no idea where he was headed and nor did he know who awaited him. Would it be a giant Ulaya with fire breathing abilities? Or a petite little female? or would no one come? Ferdinand just ignored it and continued to walk as snow fell from the heavens.

(no it's good don't worry)
Susan's ears perked and twitched slightly as he heard a slight and EXTREMELY light crunching noise. He picked his head up and strained his ears forward, trying to figure out what the noise was, and where it was coming from. After a few minutes of listening, and barely breathing, Susan finally figured out what it was that was making the noise. It was something, and possibly, someone. Susan smiled excitedly, he wondered which it would be as he raised himself up on his paws and slunk over to the opening of the tree, he stuck his head out slightly into the cold air, and looked around. The frigid temperature completely forgotten.

The blue black and white Ulaya skipped out from behind a bush and to where some larger trees were. He almost didn't notice it but he saw a dark coated face with a rainbow headring and eyes. They looked unnatural but who was he to talk, his own coat was outrageous too. This other male seemed to be cold to be curled up like that in the hole in a tree. He stepped closer to this male slowly, trying his best to show no signs of hostility. It would be bad to have someone afraid of him because who would want to be hated? Ferdinand definitely didn't want to be.
"Hello... Who might you be?" Ferdinand asked as he examined the parts he could see of this male. He spoke softly but still loud enough so that he could be heard. He plopped his bottom with his tail down onto the floor a little to the side of the entrance of the tree's opening.

Susan's eyes popped open wide as he stared at the male Ulaya before him. He couldn't help but stare at the rings around his eyes, and then notice how damn blue his actual eyes were. Susan shook his head internally, sure his eyes were gorgeous, but Xi's were better by far. Susan sat up straight and smiled wide. "Hi." he said excitedly, it had after all been a while since he'd seen anouther Ulaya. "My names... *sigh* My names Susan... but uh.. yeah.. most people call me Su. Nice to meet you. I didn't think there were other Ulayas out there stupid enough to be out in this weather... what brings you out here?" Susan knew he was a talker, but what the hell, he just couldnt help it.

"Nice to meet you Susan." He said politely with a bow of his head. He recited this male's full name that he was told. He didn't know if they were on the terms of nicknames just yet. "I'm here because I like this weather." Ferdinand said with a smile on his face. He silently examined this Ulaya in his head, profiling him without making a large assumption. "And yourself? You seem cold to be hiding in that tree." He said softly. Ferdinand wasn't the kindest of people, so he held his tongue from saying anything stupid or mean. It was hard for him to while he lived with the passive female known as Hain.

Susan laughed awkwardly and looked away momentarily, and into his tree. He wondered momentarily how assinine he looked... shivering out in the wilderness like that. He looked back at the male and realised suddenly that he didn't even know the guy's name. "yeah well... I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, so when it started getting dark, and colder; I didn't think to turn back and find a well... warmer place to stay. But it's alright i geuss, becuase honestly the best part about weather like this is the snow." Susan got a whimsical stupid looking smile on his face after thinking about that. He really did like the snow... even if it could possibly mean frost bite.

Ferdinand smiled at this male named Susan. It was a female name but yet it belonged to a male. Ferdinand just left it without asking him about it. Some things were better left unsaid, right? "If you're finding a warm place, you can always return home with me." He said. He realized it was awkward. "No, not like. that but for the night" It sounded even more awkward. "GAH. For shelter!" He finally said something that didn't sound weird and perverted. He rubbed his head with his two front paws, while supporting himself with his hind legs. "Sorry for saying weird things." He apologized softly.
Ferdinand didn't think about what Hain would've said one bit. But then again, She would've just greeted him nicely and demanded to play something childish like tag or hide-and-go-seek. She was notorious for doing that to Ferdinand.

Susan smiled, and tried not to laugh, but, well to be perfectly honest it was hard NOT to laugh at that. so... when a titter escaped from between his teeth and through his lips, he just couldnt contain the giggles. Susan laughed for a minute or so non-stop until finally he needed to breath. So, placing a paw on Ferdinands shoulder, he wiped a tear from his eye, and smiled widely up at him.
Susan shook his head, the smile still on his face and patted Ferdinand on the shoulder. "It's ok," he said, the occasional giggle breaking through, "I know what you mean." He sat up a bit straighter and sighed, finally catching his breath. "That happens to me too... on occasion. They just sort of pop out, it's alright."
Then Susan looked at him with a straight look. "but if you're serious about the offer, i'd be stupid not to accept it."

Ferdinand smiled back at him. He thought this Ulaya was pretty innocent so he felt like he could warm up to him. "I'm serious. It's a little ways over there." Fer said as he pointed to one direction. "or was it..." He began to be confused. He hadn't been in the forest this far from home before. "It's somewhere. that's for sure." He said confidently. It was embarrassing like this. He just wanted Hain to find him and take him home. Her wandering always made them find home again. "I'm sure it's around here somewhere, shall we head off to it?" Ferdinand said. Maybe if he tried to retrace his steps in the snow, they'd be able to find the home. Fer stood on all fours and shook the snow off of his butt while looking at Susan, seeing if he'd come along.

Susan went from his sitting position to a standing postion, with his head sticking out of the tree just a bit more. He looked uncertainly in the direction that Ferdinand had come. It was REALLY cold outside tongiht, and warm place out of the wind and safe from the snow sounded so inviting, and just absolutely lovely. He wondered momentarily if maybe this guy had hot chocolate. Susan's ears twitched forward and then turned backwards, he considered that thought for several moments and finally, Susan decided on it, to hell with the weather and the possibility of getting lost... which seemed pretty possible at the moment.
Susan giggled nervously for a second and then trotted out of the tree. "I HOPE we find the way back to your place... but um, if we can't... well you know, these tree's are awfully easy to see... even in this weather, so we could always just come back to here if we need to." He shrugged and smiled slightly. "you know... if you want too."

Ferdinand fluffed his tail to signify for Susan to follow him. It was followed by a command of 'let's go' but it was subtle. "We could probably find it." He said. He was confident that he'd be spotted by Hain for over a few meters and she'd come flying through the trees calling his name loudly. "And if we can't find it, a hollow tree sounds delightful." He said chuckling a little. The black, blue and white Ulaya hopped through the bush he had come from and started to back-track his steps. They were still fresh, even if the snow was falling ever so slightly. He determined which way he came from by the direction the pads on his paw was upside-down.
"If you don't hurry, I'll leave you behind." He said jokingly to Susan.

Susan smiled and left the hollow of the tree, only to be bombarded by the frigid wind. He wanted to say something about Jack Frost trying to attack him, but he stopped to listen what it was that Ferdinand had to say. He smiled at the thought of a hollowed out tree being 'delightful', but he stopped in his tracks at the last part of Ferdinands words. Susans eyes bugged nearly out of his head at that last comment. He didn't want to be left behind... people had been leaving him behind his whole life... his father, his mother, all of the children that he'd ever tried to befreind. So when the thought of a person that had just offered to bring him into a warm and safe enviornment might leave him too... well... what can i say... Susan spazzed. "NOO!!!!" he cried rather pitifully, as he tackle/rolled Ferdinand to the ground. All the while yelling "I'll keep up!!!! I'll keep up!!!! I promise!!!!!"
((ok, imagine two cats rolling over eachother in the snow and this becomes adorable))

With a small yelp and a sudden additive of weight upon him, his knees gave away and down fell Ferdinand, Susan and all. He lay face first into cold snow. It wasn't the most pleasant thing, so Ferdinand had to get back at Susan. "Oh, you're gonna get it now." He said raising his head out of the snow. He tried to wiggle his way out of Susan's grip to try roll him over in the snow while getting all the snow stuck to his own fur onto Susan's black and rainbow patterned coat. The blue, black and white pelted Ulaya had forgotten the original goal to reach a safe haven and was more interested in playing and getting back at Susan than anything right now, even if it was almost 5 degrees below 0.
