So while I was in my World History class a few weeks ago, we were reading about Buddhism. I had been incredibly bored, but my attention had been caught when I saw a very famous FF summon in the text. Aparrently, Shiva was considered the "god of the dance" in Buddhist religion and I'd had no idea!

Another suprise came when we read about the Aztecs this last week. The Aztecs believed in Quetzalcoatl, another summon from FFVIII.

So here's my question to you all: Should I write an essay on the origins of the FF summons? Would you read it?

i would! dont forget cerberus was the guardian of the underworld gates, and siren is well, a siren or a half bird woman/mermaid that sings and brings men to their death, bahamut is a god from around the mesopotamian times that fought the other god behemoth

taimat is also a god but hes/she is evil they also fought against behemoth--something like that

Yeah, I remember in 9th grade history learning about Quetzalcoatl but it looks nothing like the way it looks in FF8. D:
There's also Phoenix and Ifrit that have some past to them too. c:

I would read it!
Half the fun of playing the game was thinking of the origins of things.
Such as the espers represent every zodiac sign...etc.

ALSO!
Gilgamesh is from mesopotamian folklore.
The wolf by his side, Enkidu is also in the same folklore.

I'm just a history nut T_____T

ooo you should really write one even if it was just the name and the origins and not a full paragraph. XD i would read it. when i did history i loved it.
