Many characters died throughout the series, especially in the seventh book. How do you think each character felt about his/her own death? Would they have been proud or outraged at the way in which they died?

James died how he would have wanted, protecting the woman that he'd loved for so long and the child that they made together.
I think Hagrid had a point when he told Harry that Sirius also would have wanted to die in battle, but I doubt Sirius would've wanted a curtain and his cousin to bring him down.
I suspect Remus would have been semi-satisfied with any death that didn't result from his lycanthropy. As long as it wasn't self-inflicted wounds or being executed for being a Dark Creature he would deem it acceptable. Not preferable, but acceptable.
Lily did wind up givng Harry magical protection, which I'm sure pleases her, but sometimes I bet she regrets begging for mercy instead of cursing the git.
I bet Snape hates himself for letting himself be killed off by Voldemort's pet. He didn't get to see the man brought down that murdered his precious Lily. However, I don’t think Snape would have wanted to live once Voldemort had been defeated because – given the fact that he had no family or friends – after Lily was avenged he would have nothing to live for. Poor Sev.
Wormtail...who cares about him? He valued his own life too much to ever be happy with any death.
Dobby's death was beautiful and well done, and I don’t believe he would’ve wanted to leave this world in any other fashion. He returned to the house of his masters and defied them to their faces, and died saving Harry as he would have wished. Then, Harry dug his grave with his hands. It was all so lovely and I bet Dobby would have adored it.
Cedric definitely would not have wanted to be murdered at such a young age by Voldemort’s minion for being “a spare.” That's why I'm impressed that he seemed calm when he asked Harry to return his body to his parents.
Crabbe loathed his demise, I’m sure, which is good considering that the p***k deserved it.
Bellatrix probably would not have wanted to keep living after Voldemort’s death. Nonetheless, she ought to have been destroyed by Neville, not Molly.
I know that there are more deaths, but I had speculations about these characters already. I’ll probably post more later.

I agree with James' view. l couldn't imagine him dying another way.
Mad-Eye died in the mist of battle. That was perfect for him.
Fred. Well I'm not sure. He died laughing so that was good. I suspected he probably would've wanted to spend his last moments with George but forgiving Percy was a perfect thing for him to do before death.
Who else died? (Besides the ones already listed and Dumbledore?)
I don't know. I am not sure about Dumbledore. He was always so mysterious. Well Snape killed him and that's what he wanted. Other then that, I have no clue. :..
Interesting topic, Min.

I agree with James' also. There couldn't have been a better death for him.
I think Sirius would have been happy with his death a little bit because he died in battle and because he was protecting Harry. I think he would've been a little irked that he was killed by Bellatrix though.
Hedwig would've been irritated with her death, I think. She didn't really have a chance to fight back.
I'm not sure how many people thought about Voldemort's death, but I did. I know he'd probably be angry that Harry killed him and he couldn't take over the world or whatever. He'd also be mad that Harry didn't actually use the Killing Curse to kill him. But I also think that, way down deep inside, he was a little relieved for it all to be over. Or maybe that's just me wishing...
This is a really good topic, Minerva.

Hehe, I posted my reply to this topic before I stopped into the common room. Did I mention how awesome our common room is? xd !
I agree with Hedwig. She would be so mad and might peck someone to death out of anger! biggrin
Voldemort would've been ticked. I would've just laughed at him! xd

Thanks Rayvyn!
I agree that Voldemort would have hated his death since he technically killed himself. The Killing Curse rebounded off of Harry AGAIN when Harry sent Expelliarmus at him. I liked that Voldy killed himself so Harry wasn't a murderer.
Tonks would have been displeased with her death since she saw Remus die first and when she got killed she would have perished with the knowledge that Teddy was an orphan.

I think Voldemort would have been unhappy no matter how he died. He spent most of his life trying to cheat death and become truly immortal. So long as he died, he failed.
I don't think that Dumbledore was ready to die seeing as how he tried to convince Draco that he wasn't really a murderer. However, he knew that Harry would be able to find and destroy the horcruxes with the help of his friends.

I agree that Voldemort wouldn't have been happy to die no matter what. Justamoose is totally right. He spent his whole life cheating death and he failed. He definitely would not be happy.
I think Dumbledore had completely accepted his death and was pretty happy with the outcome seeing as he planned it. I think his convincing Draco that he wasn't a murderer had nothing to do with not wanting to die. He had faith that there was still hope for Draco and didn't want him to blacken his soul with something as horrible as murder.
I think Sirius would have been happy to die at war for a good cause. However, I seriously doubt he'd like the fact that his cousin killed him and that his death was really kind of simple.
Fred died laughing. He died the way he lived his whole life so I think that would have been the greatest joke for him. He'd love it.

I think that Wormtails death, though was fitting, would have been even sweeter if Sirius or Lupin killed him, because he tore his friends apart. I also think that he probably would have felt like he deserved it. As it was, I bet he felt really stupid for his betrayal while he was strangeling himself.
I think that Sirius would have hated his death, because he did die in battle, but not the final battle where he could have really gone down nobly, and also because he was killed by a curtain and his cousin. That would annoy anybody, I'm sure.
I think that Dumbledore took his death in stride, just like everything else in his life. He accepted it as it was and thought that if that was how it happened, that was good with him.
I think that Moody was probably annoyed to death at his death, if you'll excuse the pun. He would have been angry that he didn't get to live and take down Death Eaters at the final battle.
Snape probably hated his death because, in all honesty, he didn't get to do anything firsthand to avenge Lily. Yeah, he did what he was supposed to, but he didn't have the satisfaction of even getting to spit in Voldemorts face and gloat that he fooled him (metaphorically. Snape wasn't the kind of person to really do that). He was happy he died and didn't have to gone on, but most likely he was angry that he died in that particular way.
When Tonks realized that she was dead, her exact words were probably 'Well this sucks.' She had too much life in her and was too young to be ok with any kind of death. Plus, she had a newborn child. Her mothering instinct would have been unable to accept the fact that she couldn't take care of her child.
Lily was probably pretty similar to Tonks. She felt good for dying to protect her son, but was probably angry as all getout that she was dead and couldn't be there for her son and her friends, and to help finish the fight.

I think Lily would have been allright with the why she died. She died to protect her son from Voldemort and was very brave until her very last moment. But I am sure she would have been really annoyed by the way that she had to die at all. I mean she was so young, so full of life! She had so many plans and everything... it really is a pity...
I am sure Snape would have hated hated hated the way he died because it was really nothing "good" about it. I mean he didn't die to protect somebody he loved or in a fight, he just died... the most uncool way you can imagine. And he died so short before Voldemort was defeated which was after all something he has been fighting for for about 16 years...

It would've been better if Wormtail was killed by Remus or Sirius, but would you seriously be able to kill one of your previous best friends? I have an old best friend that tortured me pretty much, but I could never ever kill her. Even though Wormtail was one of the reasons James died, I don't believe they could've really killed him.
I agree with Snape's. Ever since he met Lily, she was his life. Even after she died, he worked to avenge her. Well, he wasn't able to avenge her with his death. I think in a way, he would've died happiest if he died saving Harry.
I think Lily would be happiest dying for her son. Even if she couldn't be in the final battle, she died protecting him. I think that was one of the only things that mattered to her.

I disagree with Suze about Wormtail's death. I think it would've just been wrong if Remus or Sirius killed him. Wormtail definetely deserved to die though. But if Remus or Sirius had done it, I would've just been horrified with them. Murdering a former friend (even if he as good as killed James) is just wrong. I like that he died from the hand that Voldemort gave him. Nobody thinks much of Voldemort when he kills people. They think of the one he kills. But if Sirius killed Wormtail, I couldn't care less about Wormtail but would feel horrible for Sirius! How hard it would've been to do that to someone. With Voldemort he does it so often and never with any remorse. So nobody thinks of him.
