In the backyard of the Sephon's house is a war unbeknown to them. It is a war so small, the human eye does not even notice it, for in their own backyard lies a group of creatures as large as insects, and often confused for one by unbelieving humans. These creatures are call Fairies, Fae, Sprites, Pixies and well over a hundred other possible names by human fantasy. As small as your thumb, they have magic abilities, wings and a human body. Though they are known as pranksters, these events in this chronicle are anything but fun. These are the dark times for the Fae, as they have split into two sides of one argument. These are the hidden Backyard Wars of the Sephon's, who only the human child Steve Sephon has witness to...

Profiles: There are many different races of Fae. All are small, agile and magical in some way. Each however, have specific looks, attitudes, and abilities unquie to their own race. Here are the races as described by Steven, and as told by Gre during these events. Dragonfae: These Fae seem to take after the dragonfly, long of leg, fast and a little headstrong and stubborn. They have mostly speed inducing magic and like to play games of tag. They commonly like to play tricks on humans by waiting for a child to approach them and try to catch them, only to dart off before they can be caught. Gre is one of these Fae. Beefae: The Beefea is a hard working Fae. They usually work hard and in groups. Very social for the Fae, they tend to be workers or guards. They are slower in movements than most Fae, being rounder and more robust than most other Fae. They guard the Fae kingdom with the annoyance magic and painful stinger swords. Monarchfae: This Fae are the royal class of the Fae. They have strong magic and take after the wings of a butterfly. The slowest of the Fae in flight, they have an unmatched grace about them that few can match. Their magic is powerful, making them natural leaders for the magic Fae. Their wings are usually very captivating. Hornetfae: The Hornetfae are Fae closely related to the Beefae, as they are the defenders of the Fae. They have a harder, thinner look to them where the Beefae have a rounder look to them. The Hornetfae are faster, with a flaring temper for a Fae. Not as strong as the Beefae physically, they make up for it with intensity, slightly greater speed and a hard shell. They also have similar magic as the Beefae, but more painful than annoying. Beetlefae: Beetlefae are tough, rounded Fae. They move slowly and are even slow thinkers. Out of all the Fae, they are the ones that love to drink and eat. Considered to be slow of wit, they are easily made to laugh. Their magic is slow and ponderous, and highly limited. How ever, they make up for their slowness with their physical overbearing and constructive abilities. Mothfae: Just like how the Monarchs are considered royalty, the Mothfae consider themselves as the center of the universe. Where the Monarchfae have some semblance to the lower classes, the Mothfae have no such recognition. They think they should be the supreme rulers of the kingdom, and have magic matching that of the Monarchfae's.

The relations between the current Fae races seem to go as follows: The Dragon, Bee and Monarch Faes all want an organized structure of government. Being the free spirits that Faes tend to be, this government would only affect Fae in a general sense of things, and not disturb their day to day life. The Moth, Hornet and even some of the Beetle Fae are part of a group called the Swarm, a group that wants to place their leader in absolute control of every Fae through magical means. Ever action would be to his whim and all Fae would work together for the betterment of their society. The first thing he plans to do is to subdue the human race, turning off their mowers of doom and have humans as slaves to serve them with all the food they could want. Even act as entertainment.
It has been long standing law among all Fae to avoid contact with any humans. They felt that humans would only spell trouble for their race. Though it seems that throughout the ages it has been greatly approved that one could play tricks on the humans, so long as they never got caught, and that it was funny enough to warrant such an act. Fae also have an eye for shiny and sparkly items, and tend to sneak in and take a few from time to time. Sometimes returning it to the human owners in an inconvenient spot or time, where as other times they keep them for decorations.

Active Profiles: (If you wish to join, either send me a PM or post your profile here. If needed, I can work with people to help better fit them into this world.) Gaia Name: Tesunie Name: Steven Sephon Fae Race: Human Description: A youth from the Sephon family. History: An only child of the Sephon family, Sephon came to meet Gre after a failed prank by Gre. This lead to the first human in centuries discovering the Fae's secret existence. Though King Morph was not pleased with these events, he is now as much of a member of their community as any human could be. Sworn to never tell of the Fae's existence, the Fae believe that this child is trustworthy and that children can be trusted where as no adult ever could. Standing: Kingdom Appearance: A young boy of roughly 6 years of age. He has red hair and freckles, accompanied by shockingly green eyes. He tends to wear simple clothing and gets messy easily, to the annoyance of his parents and the delight of the Fae. Bio: Honest and shy, he sees all the Fae as his brothers, even though most of them are far older than he is. He feels that with this war going on within his own backyard, he needs to be more active and to help his friends. Gre explains things as best he can to the child, but some of the events that unfold can only be known by Fae, no mater how much Gre can try to explain it. Extra: Loves a good laugh, the Fae's antics often send Steve into fits of laughter. Gaia Name: Tesunie Name: Gre Fae Race: Dragonfae Description: A rather young Fae from the Dragonfae. Known for his recklessness and stubborness, he tends to do and think later. He love to have fun and 'leave surf' the air. History: After playing a game of 'catch me if you can' with Steve, made contact with the human by actually being caught. During the capture, Steve accidentally injured Gre, who had no choice but to reveal his true nature as a Fae and not just a normal dragonfly. Standing: Kingdom Appearance: Long of leg like any other Dragonfae, he usually wears pine cone shoulder protectors and an acorn helm, or a leaf hat. He usually wears a ribbon pants and had a long flat ribbon running down the front and back. Bio: Although he has been smitten by a Mothfae, there is a gap that can not be bridged between the Kingdom and the Swarm. Where this love will go, no one can say for sure. Gaia Name: phantomkitsune Name: Imogen Fae Race: Mothfae Description: Young and a little naive, but learning fast. More than a little arrogant, but charming as well. History: Her family has some standing, even among the Mothfae, and she sees herself as the logical choice to rule Faerie, because everything would be so much better if she ran it. Standing: Swarm Appearance: A Luna Mothfae with black hair and large, soft green eyes, she usually wears very little except for important occasions. Strategically wrapped ribbons usually work. Bio: In love with a Dragonfae (Tesunie, let me know if you want me to change this), she can't see how to reconcile that with his misguided political convictions. Gaia Name: Tassen Kataren | Name: Kien | Fae Race: Beefae | Description: Best friends of Gre, usually errs to the side of cation, which tends to balance |Gre's tendency of recklessness, when his friend listens to him. | History: Was with Gre on the day of meeting with Steven. Actually cautioned Gre to not play |tricks on Steve, as Steve was a good bug hunter. Up for a good challenge, Gre ingorned Kien's warning. | Standing: Kingdom | Appearance: Though round his his parents, he has some leanness to him still from his youth. |Wears yellow and black stripes, especially around his waist and an armband. | Bio: Though he is a Beefae, he doesn't feel he has the courage to become one of the knights of the Kingdom. he tends to be cautious in everything he does, almost to the point of being a spoilsport to the other Fae. Extra:b]Gaia Name: Lordess of the Purple Name: Abyace Fae Race: Hornet Description: She's a Hornet Fae, and quite mean to the humans when she gets a chance. She likes to hang out by the birdbath, or the small fountain in Mrs. Sephon's garden. She's a punk, that's for sure. History: She's was going to 'attack' Steven when her most hated enemy, Gre, decided to play a prank. She's hated him ever since, but she's going to use the knowledge that Steven holds against Gre, or try to. Standing: Swarm Appearance:She has dark blond hair that is flows down to her tail bone. She wears black ribbon for a shirt, but it shows her stomach, and she wears golden yellow pants with a black belt. Bio: She's mean, almost too mean. She hates humans, and she wants the Swarm to start up, just so that the Fae can take over the Earth, and kill off the Humans. She likes making fun of the Dragon Fae's, and her worst enemy is Gre. Abyace is now always plotting against Gre. She's trying to turn Steven into a monster against the Fae, instead helping them. Extra: She likes to talk to Kien any chance she gets, but wonders why he likes to hang out with Gre.

Role Play's intention: To inform anyone interested in joining this role play, I have placed it into the Intermediate forum because I am looking for those that can work together for the sake of the story. I also intend to 'try' to draw this into a comic, preferably a web comic if I can find a sever that can reliably host a website for free. This means that I can't have random events happening every two seconds, and everything should be considered as part of a greater story.
Though for some people (like myself) this can be hard, as your character is always going to be your main character within the story. However, don't be afraid to have your character 'step out' of the story for a short time, or have them fail, or any other story telling events that could come in handy.
I just want to remind everyone that we are all working together to create a story. If you are willing to give this a try, then let me know. I don't mind working with people to help them into the role play. I also will presume that everyone has read this post and understand that, if this DOES turn into a comic at any point and time, I claim the rights to the comic and the story, though I will try my best to give credit of your character to you (or at least your Gaian name). Your posts on Gaia are copyright to you, and you need to understand that I am going to be using your material with your permission upon you posting within this thread.
If you have any questions at all, PM me and I can try to explain this better. All I know is that I need to inform you that I do intend to use your material for my own use, and that by posting in this thread you have given me permission to use it. As I mentioned before, I shall try my best to give credit to you, rather through your real name (though not needed) or through your Gaian name. They will be placed in any credits given to the comic, and you are all considered co-authors in this story.

It was a warm summer day in the backyard of the Sephon's house. All was quite as Steve, being an only child and doing what most kids do, was sent outside to play while it was nice out. He was in a neighborhood with few children, and none of them was his age, so he often played alone.
In the same yard, a young Fae wanted to play. He was board with things in the stump of the Kingdom, and he had talked his friend into coming along once more onto his forays of trouble. How Kien and Gre ever became friends, one would never knew as they where two opposites to the same coin.
Where Gre was reckless almost to endangerment, Kien was cautious and almost a sour sport to all of Fae kind. When Gre spotted the young child playing in the stone fields of the Sephon's driveway he couldn't help himself. He started to dive to position, going around the child's face to get his attention and then landing on a nearby rock, laying flat like a dragonfly, the very insect that gave his family their name of Dragonfae. Patiently he waited for the young child to walk to him and just try to catch him.

Kien watched the child explore the rocky fields. He turned to talk Gre out of what he was thinking, "Gre, don't you dare..." It was too late. The Dragonfae was already on the move, trying his favorite prank, a game of 'catch-me-if-you-can'. "GRE! Get back here! He is a very good bug hunter!" Kien shouted. He had not to fear that the child would hear his voice, if he did all he would hear would be a buzzing sound, thanks to their magic on concealment.

Gre looked back, a large smile on his face, "I know Kien! Stop being such a toad!" The reference to a Toad for Fae is the same as refering to a worry wart, seen as Toads are very lumpy and aren't known for their excitement with Fae.
Steven saw the large bug fly past his face, almost like a challeng. The child couldn't resist a challenge as his eyes followed the dragonfly around himself, and stoped on the dragonfly as he landed on a large stone. Steve then walked slowly, so as not to disturb the insect, to the rear of it. Dragonflys seem to react slower from the back, as they probably can't see you from back there. He skuffed his bare foot forwards an inch more, slidding it on the small pebbles of his driveway. Then a lunge! He flew threw the air, landing on the spot of where the dragonfly rested, only to find the dragonfly had darted off at the last second.
Meanwhile, Gre was laughing his little head off. He had escaped the 'great' bug hunter! It was so funny he couldn't contain himself! He landed on a blade of grass just a few feet away, laughing hystarically, almost falling off the leaf a few times for his troubles.

Kien actually broke a smile across his face as well, and flew upwards from the grassy forest. He flew with a loud buzzing sound, and had his belt dagger in a comfortable position. Then his smile disappeared, and he tried to shout a warning, but it was too late. By the time he had started to fly to Gre's aid it was all over. The small stinger dagger of Kien's was out, as he would defend his friend from the human if he needed to.

Gre turned, still laughing hard. He heard Kien's warning shout as a dark shadow loomed over him, and then it was too late. His joke was not a danger. The child Steve was now flying threw the air once more, scuffed knees and all from the first attempt.
While Gre was laughing, Steve was creeping closer to Gre. Gre tried to dart away, but his timing was off. Instead of getting away, he was crushed under the weight of the side of Steve's hand. Had Gre not moved he would have ended up cupped in the hands of the youth, safely and carefully. now he was pressed between the two, his wings being twisted in two different directions, till a snap could be heard by Gre. Steve noticed that he had his pray in his hands, the dragonfly that had tempted him so much a few moment's before. The wing was crushed when he opened his hands to look, and the poor thing didn't move. Then a big bee flew by, up by his hands.
Gre was withering in pain, his right wings where broken, snapped in half by the inobservant child. He should have listened to Kien. This child was a bug hunter. He considered his options, either to let the human have his way with Gre, hopping to be dropped off someplace where Kien could help him back, or something dreaded and against the laws of the Kingdom. Between the two choices, only one was prevalent to Gre.
Within moments, Steven saw a sight he thought he could never see. The dragonfly in his hand slowly resolved into that of a humanisk fairy. He had to blink several times at the sight, as he was told many times by his parents that fairies did not exist, yet here one was, lying in his hands. He brought the creature closer to his face, and closer to his eyes. He could see the pixie clearly, it really was a fairy! Then he heard a small voice start speaking...

Kien flew into Steven's hand, next to his friend shouting, "Gre! Gre! You alright?" He stood up, facing Steven's face, stinger dagger drawn and ready to use. "Take any action to hurt us and I'll.. I'll... STING YOU!" Kien thought he was going to defend his friend from Steve, not realizing he was standing in Steve's hand. He also did not realize that Gre had dropped their magical disguses, so he thought he appeared to be a large, angry bee to Steve.

Steve was shocked by these events. He looked at the scene in front of him. Now there was not only one, but TWO fairies in his hand! "I got to show mom this!"
Gre shook his head. "Steve, I need your help." he twisted from pain, trying to prop his wing into a better position than almost between fingers again. "You can't show us to others... ever." Gre was having a hard time thinking from the pain of two broken wings.

At this point, Kien finally knew what his friend had done. "Gre, you didn't!" his mouth was wide open in astonishment. Then he looked up at the human Steve, same open mouth expression on his face. "You did!" He knew this to be true because not only of Steve's last comment, but also from the same expression being on Steven's face as well. "I can take you Gre. We don't have to break any more rules.."
