As the sun sunk towards the horizon, Kijeshi licked his paw clean of his snack, a fish he had caught in the body of water somewhere in size between a stream and a river on the outer edge of the jungle. His wounds from his encounter with the huge lion and his cheetah had just gotten to the point of scars across his back. He was annoyed by them, but there was nothing he could do about them now. Nothing short of a god, if they even existed, could rid a body of scars. His orange eyes blinked before the large leopard yawned. He stood and padded away from the water, heading in something of a direction back to his "home". Pity there wouldn't be something there to quell his other hunger. He remember other times when he wasn't without other to see to his needs, whatever they might have been. But that was the past, and he was too old to dwell on that.

Tan shoulder blades rocked their way across the savannah, head low and tail held just above the dusty ground. Hyundur'ton huffed as she crossed the land, unsure of what - if anything - she was looking for. Her red eyes crossed the brown grasses, and the only thing she noticed was not through sight, but by scent. She filled her lungs with the strange scent of fish; it was not something she'd had to eat before, though she'd seen plenty swim.
She redirected her course towards the kill sight, and found herself disappointed that it had been entirely consumed, and that its killer had moved on. But she raised her eyes and her nose to begin following him, trotting along until she could see the dark brown form of a male leopard before her.

Kije paused in his steps, the sound of another behind him. He looked over his shoulder and a small smirk found his way onto his maw. There was a young lioness following him, not too young, but certainly not an adult. "Hello there. Is there something I can do for you?" he asked, turning around to face her, a charming look of sneaky curiosity on his face.

Hyun lowered the front of her body closer to the ground as she realized she'd been noticed. Perhaps for a canine or some other feline, this posture could be mistaken for play, but Hyun's intentions were far different. She disregarded his question like a fly on her pelt, and licked her chops instead of speaking. The lioness dug her claws into loose soil as she tensed to spring, but she hesitated, waiting for his next move.
Her blood red eyes watched him move, his smile, his paws, and they passed over his scars with almost the same violence that had left them, and slowly, a smirk too found its way onto her face.

Aw, hell. He knew that look and it had nothing to do with what had originally been thinking of. The smile left his maw and his eyes narrowed a bit at her. He just frowned at her for a moment before turning his back. "I don't have time for your nonsense," he growled a bit and walked on, every muscle in his body tensed to jump. If she moved towards him, he'd be up the nearest tree before she could get at him. He was NOT in the mood for a confrontation, not one bit. Especially not with a female and definitely not a younger one. He had his rules, few as they were.

The front of her body dipped low as she tilted her head in time, "Mmmm?" she said, smiling and giddy as though he was her reluctant lover. She watched him walk away, and she followed, her body low to the ground in a stalking manner. In Hyun's mind, she would have no problem getting him to play with her.
But she stalled and hesitated until there was a space between them, allowing her to gather every muscle of her body so that she rushed at him, ready to spring at any moment...

Kije listened carefully to her movements, waiting for them to pick up. When they did, he, too, sprang into motion, growling as he leaped into a run and then up into the low branches of a tree. He didn't stop there, though. Oh, no, he climbed another level or two higher, so that he could still see her and be able to safely land should he need to jump down but be out of reach. She'd have to climb after him if she wanted him that badly. "What do you want?" His question was short, but slow. A look of cocky superiority had crawled onto his face as his fire-colored eyes looked down at her, almost laughing. Much as he would have hated to admit it, the jungle was where he was best. She was in his neck of the woods, as some say.

Hyun snarled at his escape, yelling after him "Coward!" she slunk still close to the trunk of the tree, and raised her forelegs against it, digging in her claws and glaring at him before she changed. She dropped again to the ground and sat beneath him, her red eyes staring up and filled still with the heat of battle and adrenaline, though she tried to change everything else about her posture. "I just wanted to play, what's wrong with that?" Her question was as innocent as she could offer, and for added effect she cocked her head in question. But she knew that he probably wouldn't bite, after the shows she'd just put on.
She'd just have to bide her time and convince him to fight.

Kije's rumble of a laugh trickled out of his throat in the form of a chuckle. "Little lioness, when I think of play, I have something quite different in mind," he shot back as he paced on the branch a bit, his tail-tip flicking back anf forth with his amusement. Gods, how she pricked his temper, calling him a coward. It was probably true, but one never liked hearing one's faults. "However, I think your aggressive display has put me off of any type of play for the moment," he paused there, smirking down at her. "Besides, innocence doesn't become you. It's too see-through." His eyes narrowed a bit at his tease, attempting to p***k her temper for the pure amusement of it, getting back at her for calling him cowardly by pointing out how bad of a deceiver she was.

The adol's shoulders hunched as she glared up at him. It wasn't the first time she'd been in this position, but this time she was far less happy about it. Well, if he had another definition of play, perhaps they weren't going to get along well together, but she'd already tried to engage him. Pacing around the trunk a time or two, she settled beneath it, but just far enough to not be sprung upon.
His words just fanned her simmering rage, tainting what she had once hoped to be good fun, and her tail flicked in agitation much like his own. As she bored into him she chortled and spit her words, "Well why don't you show me how you play?" Of course, this was just her second ploy to get him down the tree on her level again, and oh how she hoped it would work.

Kije's smirk turned seductive as he narrowed his eyes down at her. "Ah, now, little lioness. It takes two to demonstrate it and I get the feeling that sort of play is not what you're looking for," he replied as he stepped down onto a slightly lower branch. It still put him out of her reach, though. He did it merely to tease.
"And besides, I prefer to play with other leopards. Not that you aren't pretty, but I've heard some sad things about hybrids that I'd never wish on anyone," he added, tilting his head slightly and giving her a look, wondering if she'd catch on now.

Hyun looked up at him with disgust. Her wincing glare followed him as he dangled above her. She stood and backed up, her toes digging into the dirt beneath them as her claws raked the soil for traction, or perhaps as a substitute for flesh. She choked a little on the growl that tried to escape her throat, but she held it in. I'll show you something sad... If you'd just come down here! Her lips lifted, but it was far from a smile, and she tensed all of her muscles for a lunge at the tree. She scaled up a few feet, and her claws tore at the bark while she clung like a scared cat. She struggled to get only a few more feet off the ground, to grab a branch and pull herself up to his level, but unlike Kije, Hyun was built differently. She lost her grip and fell back to the earth on all four paws, circling again underneath.
"Well then all the more reason to play my way! Pathetic." She taunted him and used every mean she had, but she still could only hope it would work before she gave up for other quarry.
