Kjerne was busy setting up everything where Jereith and Keida were supposed to have their date. Well, they didn't really completley know that it was a date, but she was determined to make a nice date out of it. She had collected some snow from a little above the maountain edge she was on to make a nice 'carpet' across the rock. She had made the veiw so that come sunset the whole place would be tinted orange and red. There were little snow rabbits that she had made in a cluster next to a tree with white blossoms in it. She had also lay the blossoms along the tree edge. There was plenty of chilled fruit waiting in a pile beside the rabbits. She was putting the final touches on everything before the two arrived.

Nalini started walking down the familiar path to The Cold Place. It wasa normal activity for her, though what she was about to do was not so normal. She was going to get two good friends of hers (one a former roommate) out unknowingly on a date. Part of her couldn't believe she had agreed to this. After all, was it really her place to do such a thing? The other part said that there's a potiential for these two to love one another if given the chance. She tended to agree with number 2. After all, a mock date that the ones involved aren't aware of won't by itself make two namrah a couple. There would have to be latent feelings of love for such a thing to happen. Soon enough, an artic breeze blew past her, and her mind focused again. She was almost there.
(I think that Jeireth is probably napping at this moment. xd )

Keida was stretched out on her usual branch, admiring the way the snow below glittered in the sun light. Soft flakes fell to the ground, the soft falling snow a sign of the contentment she was feeling inside.
Her ears perked as she caught a familiar scent in the air. A small smile found its way to her lips. With a flap of her wings, she leaped off the branch to glide down to the ground below.

Jeireth stirred, sensing that someone was approaching. He opened his eyes and looked on as Nalini arrived into The Cold Place. He smiled and waved at her.
"Hi!" said Nalini to both Jeireth and Keida with a bright smile. "How are you two?" It had been some time since she had last seen them, so she discreetly looked around for any changes. The snowman was still there...yet the snow bunnies were surprisingly missing. She laughed a bit internally, remembering the trip when she brought Fiala here and she had constructed those horrible, soul staring bunnies.

"Hello Nalini," said Keida as she smiled fondly at the poliwag. She settles just a bit away from Jeireth, her wings flattening against her back. "How have you been?"

"I've been pretty good lately," she replied. It had gotten a bit too cold for her to swim, though she didn't mind. Especially since she seemed to have gotten a bit more sleepy and inclined to hang around the warmth of the house lately. She wondered why that was, considering she had no problem coming to The Cold Place without feeling sleepy. "How about you?"
"I'm good," answered Jeireth. It was a repeat question, but that was fine. Lately it had gotten colder, which was good for Jeireth because it meant that he could go fishing without having to suffer sweltering heat. Plus it was probably easier on Keida to maintain the current temperature, and while he wasn't sure how hard she worked during the summer to keep the area cold, he was pretty sure she could use a bit of a break.

"I have been well." Keida tilted her head up to the sky and continued to smile. Her season was fast approaching, and with Jeireth living with her, she was no longer lonely. So really, she was better than just "well."

"That's good," Nalini thought for a moment while saying the generic reply, thinking about how to bring up the mountain. After a moment's though, she said, "Have either of you been to the mountain?"
Jeireth shook his head. He had flown by it a couple times, though he hadn't actually landed on it. "I haven't," he replied, and waited for Keida's response.

"The mountain?" Keida looked off in the direction of the mountain. She had never gotten the chance to go there, it had been to hot to take travel so far. "No, I have not."

"Really?" responded Nalini. She counted herself lucky. After all, it would look pretty suspicious if she had suggested they go to the mountain when they said they've already been. "Maybe you two should go today? It's pretty cold out."
Jeireth thought about it for a minute and said, "That sounds like fun." He smiled and wondered what Keida thought of it. He imagined that she'd think it would be a pretty cool idea as well.

Keida simply stared off into the distance for several moments, her mind trying to gauge if it would be cool enough for her to fly to the moutains. "...A trip to the mountains would be nice."

"Cool! I hope you two have fun," replied Nalini with a smile. So far, so good...nothing indicated that she was acting any differently than usual. She thought about a good excuse for leaving, since she knew that Keida wouldn't leave her in the Cold Place all alone. She was too polite for that, and Jeireth didn't seem the type either.
"I hope so too," said Jeireth. He wondered what it would be like on the mountain. At least the two of them wouldn't have to worry about getting lost.

Keida continued to stare off, before slowly letting her gaze drift back to Nalini. She certainly could not just leave her friend here. That would be rude. "Perhaps we could go later?"

Jeireth nodded. Later sounded good, since Nalini was still here.
Nalini waved her paw in the air, shaking her head a bit. "Nah, you two can go now. I have to watch over a kit at the house. It's my turn this time." She smiled, having only told a half lie. She did have to watch a kit...but the changeover didn't occur until about an hour from now.
Jeireth tilted his head. "A kit?" He wondered if this kit was from a breeding, or from an event.
Nalini nodded. "Yep, a kit. Her name's Hoyle, and she just kinda appeared at the house one day as an egg. She stayed an egg for a while too, but now that she's a kit we have to keep a closer eye on her. I'm actually kinda surprised nobody's claimed her like Akiko did for Tayla."

"How sad," said Keida in a soft voice. Of course she was referring to the fact that the kit did not have a mom. It always saddened her when she heard of parentless children.
