Running low to the ground, the brown and cream cheetah let his eyes scan back and forth over the terrain in a careful, but quick sweep. He'd already come quite some distance from the coalition's lands and soon ... it would be time to start looking for signs of those he was tracking.

For he had two objectives, being out here. The first, the priority ... was to find the little bad-luck cub his coalition had abandoned to the Outside years ago - thinking she would die out there. She should have died out there. But now, the Priests of the coalition felt that she was still alive... and grown.

Bhaltair growled softly at the thought. He had never liked her. She'd taken up too much of his sister's time when they were small. He wanted his sister all to himself...

Speaking of which. His sister was the second reason he was out here - the second thing he was searching for.

About a week or so ago, she had disappeared, had simply left to go off somewhere on her own. At first, no one had worried, had thought she'd just gone on a long hunting trip or something. But as the days passed and there was no word, and no one else who was out hunting even saw her... Bhaltair had started to get worried.

Then one of the other Protectors had found her tracks... headed out of the coalition's lands. Why, no one knew.

Bhaltair was hoping to find her and ask. Then bring her back home. After killing the troublemaker, of course.

The first thing Tiifu noticed was that it was early. Much earlier than she'd normally wake up, but she'd gone to sleep rather early last night too.

The leopardess got up and stretched, a yawn curling back her lips even as she got rid of the remaining stiffness in her muscles. Lavender eyes scanned the horizon, and it wasn't long before she spotted something moving in the distance. It was too fast to be a prey-beast, which meant that she had company; not that she minded.

With another absent stretch, Tiifu settled into a gentle lope, heading towards Bhaltair.

It was because Bhaltair was watching the landscape around him so closely that he noticed something else moving toward him rather quickly. And he changed direction just a bit to go toward whatever it was too.

After all, if something thought it was going to attack him... well, he'd soon enough show whatever it was that he wasn't easy prey.

He saw quickly enough that it was another feline, a rather odd-looking leopard... to be exact. And female, he thought.

But he had never seen such a color of fur before. Just... what kind of lands had he come to?

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
Of course, at her gentle lope, it was another few minutes before Tiifu was in front of Bhaltair. Once there, she gave a gentle smile and sat down, idly shaking some stray dirt out of her fur.

"Hello, stranger. What brings you out and about so early?"

Manda
Bhaltair stopped at that, looking her up and down... almost as if trying to determine if she could be trusted or not. but her manner was so open... that he finally figured it could do no harm to at least talk to her. "Hello," he said, a bit short - but not necessarily mean. That was just, how he was. "I'm searching for something. Have you, perhaps, seen another cheetah, a female... who looks somewhat like me?"

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"I've seen many things, kind sir, but I'm afraid I haven't seen the cheetah you seek," Tiifu said, her ears perking forward slightly.

Manda
Damn. He frowned slightly for a moment, then cleared the expression from his face. "Ah. You see, I'm trying to find my sister. She... has things to account for, back home." It wasn't quite a full explanation - but good enough, probably.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"I'll let her know you're looking for her, in the event I see her. I'm Tiifu'ini, by the way," Tiifu said, curling her tail around her legs and nodding her head towards Bhaltair politely.

Manda
Ah... there -was- that little thing called politeness, wasn't there? Hmph. "I'm Bhatair," he said, a bit gruffly. "If you see her, I'd appreciate that." Hopefully if such a thing happened, she would think nothing of it, and maybe even come to meet with him. It would certainly make -his- job easier.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Bhaltair," Tiifu replied, smiling teasingly at the cheetah. She'd met her fair share of gruff individuals on her travels. Some of them warmed up eventually, others didn't. She hoped this cheetah was one of the former spirits. He really was quite handsome.

Manda
"Mm.." he kind of hummed in reply, wondering if he'd been polite enough now that he could be on his way. He wasn't trying to be rude... but he really did need to find his sister. And get this -over- with.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"You seem tense," Tiifu said after a long moment of silence, moving over to Bhaltair and nudging his shoulder idly. "You should relax for a bit."

Manda
Well, that didn't help with being tense. He'd never particularly liked being touched... and he had to fight back a glare at that. "I just... need to find her," he said after a moment. "It's important."

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"I can understand that it's important to you. But it will do you no good if you continue on as tense as you are. You'll be utterly exhausted when you find her," Tiifu said, nodding as if to afirm her statement.

Manda
Bhaltair blinked at that, frowning slightly. Much as he hated to admit it, she was right. In a way. "I suppose so," he half-grumbled, forcing muscles to relax. "What are you doing out here?" he asked then, turning her own question back on her.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"Enjoying the sunrise. And when I am done here, I plan on heading towards the sea. It's been a long time since I've felt the waves on my paws," Tiifu said, smiling contently at the thought of the beautiful, glittering sea.

Manda
He blinked slightly at that - looking up as if he'd just now noticed said sunrise. Which ... he had. He hadn't really been paying that much attention to the sky before. "The sea... I've never seen it," he said then.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"You should go to it some day. It's a beautiful sight. The way the waves shimmer is always a sight to behold," Tiifu said, smiling to herself. It seemed like he was indeed warming up.

Manda
"Maybe..." he said, seeming to be thinking about it. He glanced over at her, wondering... "Where do you come from?" he blurted out. "I've never seen fur that color before."

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"I was born a ways north from here, but I'm not so unusual for this place. You'll see many strange fur colors in these lands," Tiifu said, giggling softly at Bhaltair bluntness. It was rather cute.

Manda
"Really?" he asked, finding himself actually somewhat interested. Where he came from... the creatures were mostly natural colored.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"Really. There are some creatures of natural colors in this area, but you will find creatures of all shapes, sizes, and colors," Tiifu said, nodding gently.

Manda
Bhaltair murmured, "How strange..." at that, shaking head slightly. He wondered how such a thing had happened, in these parts. Some weird gods, perhaps. Shaking himself a bit, he looked up then. "I should keep looking..." Then frowned. "Maybe she went to somewhere near the sea... Do you know this area well?"

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"I know this area for miles. I have traveled far and wide," Tiifu said, looking at Bhaltair curiously.

Manda
"Then perhaps... would you be willing to guide me?" he asked, a bit stiffly. But the request was there. It wouldn't do to end up in some sort of blind canyon. Or go over the same territory twice or more because it looked the same as other places but for small local landmarks he might not notice.

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"I would be willing to do so, Bhaltair. I'm ready when you are," Tiifu said, smiling to herself.

Manda
Bhaltair got to his feet at that and shook himself a bit. "Now then?"

Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
"Now sounds just fine," Tiifu said, also getting to her feet and shaking any stray dust from her fur. She then began walking in the direction she knew the sea to be, pausing only once to look at Bhaltair expectantly before going on.
