Are they fun to play in PvP? PvE?
What are the pros of Death Knights?
What are the cons of Death Knights?
(I don't have the Lich King yet)
Which spec is faster at leveling? Blood, Frost, or Unholy?

Fun in PVP? dunno, not taken one to a BG and I'm on a PVE server. Fun in PVE? Yes. Wait, yes. Being able to solo group quests is so cool.
Pro: Everything IIDX said. Con: Not really run into one yet. lol
I'm leveling as Blood spec. It's real nice having those extra buttons to boost healing.
Plus: Path of Frost? Still not old. Just learned, 'cause I'm observant like that, when you cast it it goes to the whole party. Woot. Also: Taking 5 DKs into Ramparts and tearing it apart is sweet.

Id rather learn how to play against a Death knight, rather than jump on the bandwagon. Besides ill have a level 80 Mage with professions and better gear.. Death Knights are too much work imo.

Ya soloing a lvl 61 elite as a 58 fresh to hellfire is fun. So yes, the rock w/ their c**k out in pve.
As for pvp. Death grip > Shadowstep. Yes I said it.
Pros: Me kill. As blood i dont lose any health in pve. Cons: global cooldown gets annoying
Im blood, at the end of a fight i still have full health thanks to OP heal back abilities.

I'm actually leveling blood. I'm not quite for the holy build, but it does look enticing. Now if I could get my rear end off of RP, I'd be over 70 by now.
My question is: where in the hell are all the upgrades? I've had like, five since hitting Outland.

I'm 67, so one level away from being able to hit Northrend and I'm absolutely loving it. Only done one AV match so far, and like 30/40 of the people were Death Knights. Good times. Lots of Death Grips everywhere. Didn't join right away but ended up with the most kills for a good while, although another death knight ended up coming before me.
And yeah, it's a lot of ******** fun. Tried out all 3 specs (Frost the least) and Blood is definitely my personal favorite. Killed 7 npcs at once last night on accident. (Thank you Death and Decay, Death Strike, and Rune Tap.)

FROST IS THE s**t, I GOT MY DREANEI SPECC"D INTO THAT ATM,
TANKING IS HELLA FUN CUZ YOU KEEP AGRRO THROUGH CRITS AND DMG RATHER THEN TAUNTS.
BUT MY ROUGE HAS ALL MY ATTENTION SO MY DK IS ONLY 60 3nodding
WHEN YOU GET LICH JUST SPEND THE DAY AND DO ALL THE DK BEGGINING QUESTS |RATHER SIMPLE AND QUICK AND YOU CAN JUST GO TO OUTLAND RIGHT AFTER

They are insanely underpowered in PvP. I am an enhance shaman, a very well known underpowered spec, I'm not even 80 yet so I don't have hex. I killed two death knights on my own and lived through killing a rogue right after with a lock for help.
Either every death knight I've come across doesn't know how to PvP, or they're just a really crappy class right now.

Enelya Anarion Either every death knight I've come across doesn't know how to PvP, or they're just a really crappy class right now. A good death knight will only have trouble killing Ret paladins. A lot of people are playing DK atm that don't know how to play the class at all >.> I saw a 75 DK without a rune... Said "It's only on my first sword I started with can't put it on my new weapons" /head desk

I leveled my DK to 70... I'm just bloody sick of leveling... GAAHR! Leveling on a pvp server has lead me to just about wanting to quit wow... and all my characters are on pvp servers... well look at that. I'm extremely EXTREMELY tempted to pay to move my characters to a PvE server.
Questing is fun, I enjoy it. Being the prime target of every alliance in borean is not. When I try to defend myself against an ally, about 2-3 pop out of nowhere and start wailing on me.
So in PvP I think it's horrible, b/c I can't really survive long enough to even take out one person. We're very easily kited (with only 2 distance breakers, no root or snare resistance, basically we're easier than paladins to wail on.) AMS helps some against casters, but the 1 min CD really hurts, and it means I actually have to hit them to use it, so that doesn't work. I'm heavily reliant on a healer to keep me alive through just about anything. My self healing only really crits when I'm at full health (just bad luck there), and when I'm in the need of a heal, my own self-healing isn't sufficient. I've gone through 20 lvl 55 healing pots just from pvp at lvl 70...
Anyhow, in duels I'm doing pretty well (against melee), having trouble with casters (probably because I'm in desperate need of resilience), so it will probably be pretty fun at 80, but for now, I'm not happy.
In BGs we kick so much a** it's unreal. DGing a healer into a pack of 5 friendlies is generally a good way to take the rest out.
I probably need to learn to use cooldowns more often in world pvp. Bone shield is win, as is ancestral fort AMS and AMZ.
Anyhow, just be warned, on a pvp server, not so much fun.

I've recently converted to blood and I no longer even stop between mobs.
Rule for me is...
Pull 4-5 mobs. Nuke em all one by one, using hp restoring abilities early on. Rinse. Repeat.
PvP on the other hand is more fun. Dueling other death knights has proved to be most helpful in learning how to play. Blowing your best abilities early on seems to be the general rule, so I sit back, cc, silence etc. and wait it out.
But yeah, managed to down a level 69 warrior on my 61 dk. Easy peasy in blood.

I'm guessing you don't play a hunter. Hunters have lots of abilities. Hunters also have about 10 abilities that are of any good 90% or more of the time. If you're a PvE hunter, you have three buttons. Chimera Shot (Or Bestial Wrath if you're BM), Steady Shot, Kill Command/Shot Many hunters make macros so they literally press one or two buttons throughout a fight. They also top DPS charts. Here, let me give you a guide: 1. Use your Hunter's Mark and /petattack macro 2. Serpent Sting and Misdirect 3. Spam your Kill Shot, Kill Command, Steady Shot, Beastial Wrath macro 4. ??? 5. Profit! Glyph Steady Shot, Beastial Wrath, Hunter's Mark. Top DPS charts.
