Eamane yawned and looked over at the clock hanging on the kitchen wall. She must be getting old, it was only nine thirty and she was exhausted. Shay was out- she was rarely home on weekends anymore, and it was the perfect time to catch up on work, but she had spent the whole evening sitting on the couch with a new book.
The little elf put down her book and stretched before making her way into her office. Out of habit she locked the door behind her. She grabbed the small key hiden behind some books and sat down behind her desk. Unlocking the hidden compartment, she pulled out some unmarked packages and began to open them. One was just dispatches, another an acceptance letter from the Academy where she had applied for a job, and the last contained a few vials and a letter.
The letter was in code, and the strange letter made her tired head swim. It was perhaps easier just to examine the vials. She uncorked the first and sniffed the contents cautiously. She pulled away blinking hard as a wave of dizziness hit her. Her last concious thought was ah the sleep drops the Professor promised me[/i].

As Eamane was pretty much knocked unconscious by the sleep drops, her soul was taken out of her body and sent for bonding with one of the deceased Tison deities' soul. Her body, meanwhile, was left neatly in a bed on a ship. A pregnant young woman was seated and reading some novel or another.
When the bonding had completed, a necklace with a strange little trinket on it appeared around the elf's neck. The relic was small and unbreakable, with some sort of magic in it to keep her from removing it but also something else even more important contained inside - the soul of a minor deity.
And all too soon, she was waking up to see the strange green, six armed young woman.

Eamane had lived on Gaia for her entire life so one would think waking up in a strange place monitored by a strange woman and wearing strange jewlery would be all in a days work for the elf, but every time it happened she was surprised. She blinked rapidly and rubbed at her eyes as she pulled herself into a sitting position.
"Who, what, where?...those must be some crazy drugs..." She muttered groggily as she peered at the pregnant woman trying to gather her thoughts.

"No, the drugs just knocked you out. The rest just happens to be weird." Feejhu said calmly, turning the page in her book. "You're safe and temporarily on a ship so I can explain that necklace you've got on."

Eamane blinked. Very good drugs indeed...could one believe a hallucination? And if she did believe, did that still make the strange woman a hallucination? Either way nothing seemed very scary about this dream/high so she decided not to wake up.
At the mention of the necklace she tried to peer down at the piece of jewlery. It was rather pretty. "Is there something to explain...other than the fact it's pretty and I wear it?"

The little elf blinked again. Well that was an interesting twist. She had heard about things like this happening, but thus far had been able to escape the objects-turning-into-children curse that was rampant on her home planet. Shay was the closest she'd come, and the Herald was only her neice.
She wasn't sure she wanted a child though and wondered if she told the stranger she would take the necklace back. Eamane was rather sure she wouldn't make a good mother- she was a wonderful aunt, but that was because all she had to do was spoil Shay and hand her back to here mother when she was little. "I don't think it is a good idea to give me this." She tugged experimentally at the necklace, but as the pregnant lady had said it wouldn't come off.

"I'm not involved in the selection of guardians. It's just my job to tell you that you'll be having a reborn deity kid and the main connotations of that. Other than that, I'm really not involved, apart from being a kid who came from one of those necklaces." Feejhu explained, giving Eamane an apologetic look and shrugging her six arms.

Eamane surveyed the woman sitting there. So that was what she could expect from her own necklace- the elf wasn't sure if that was comforting or not. She tugged at the necklace again before asking another question. "What sort of connotations are we talking about?"

"well it generally means warning you that when the child grows more it will start gaining memories from it's old life as well as powers. I don't believe yours was a major deity so it shouldn't be as much trouble, but still, gods are gods and gods are powerful. Even the weak ones." Feejhu explained. "I think that was all I needed to explain. I'm not sure these days. I shall have to send you home now. Just stand on that plate over there and close your eyes. You'll be home shortly. The child should arrive via dream at some point in the near future. Not tonight though, at the very least."
