Salazar waited patiently at his dais-desk for his newest student, idly twiddling a strand of his long white hair that had been flung loose around a finger. He straightened up his desk, and the decided that it'd be better if he at least made the place look better. Casting a minor fire spell, Salazar lit the torches around the room one by one, flicking a small orb of flame to each.
He was now ready for his first student.

Slythor ran into class, late. It was a funny sight at first, his legs running speedily as he nearly slammed the door down. There he forgot for to stop and fell down on a candle. He shouted in pain and pat out the flames with scaled hands. He panted softly. His bird flew inside the class a little bit after, landing on his boy and looking equally tired.
"A-am I late?"

Salazar hadn't been looking at the door, or paying attention, for that matter, so when he heard the crash, he jumped.
"Gyah! Oh...wait, just you." he said with a sheepish grin, walking over to Slythor. "Nope, just on time, actually. Didn't intend to start so early, anyway." Salazar laughed. He put his long white hair up in a ponytail to keep it out of the way, the small gems on the jewelry he wore jingling as he moved.
"So, shall we get stared?" Salazar said with a grin, calling up a few elemental glows to help detect which element this kid might have.

Slythor let out a sigh of relief as he was informed of his not-lateness. He smiled and sat down in the circle, feeling content at the fact he was not late. His bied seemed happy to simply rest. It crooed a little like a pigeon.
He sighed contently, finally able to relax after running here. His chest still lifted up and down, panting. He smiled and looked up at the teacher. "I'm Slythor. What's your name?"

"I'm Salazar. Pleasure to meet you, SLythor." Salazar reached out a hand in a handshake, before being distracted by the bird.
"Oh, that's a lovely bird you have there. He have a name?" Salazar inquired, curious. This was an interesting type of bird...not one he knew, but then again, that's typical.

Slythor nodded. "Hello Salazar." He shook the man's hand. He looked up at the man curiously. He was told he was to learn spiritual things, using magic and stuff. Blowinf fireballs did sound cool after all. He agreed. "What're you gonna teach me? Can I shoot fireballs?"
The bird flapped his wings and squawked his name. "Blue!"

"Blue? That's a good name." Salazar grinned at Slythor. "All kinds of stuff. But first, we're gonna have to find out what kind of magic you'd be best at." Salazar summoned up the little elemental sparks, and they fluttered around him like fireflies. He thought Slythor would be an Earth element, so he drew the little chocolate brown spark forward first.
"There's twelve elements that you could fit into. Even if you don't end up in fire, I'll be teaching you how to blow fireballs anyway, since you seem to want to learn that."

Slythor stared at the buddy orb before poking it with one finger."What do I do with a brown glob? Does this mean I can make earthquakes and stuff? That'd be cool." He grinned. Making earthquakes was much better than shooting fireballs anyday. He wanted to work now.

The little brown spark grew bright and bigger as it Salazar sent over the right attuning aura to it. It chimed with a clear note, indicating that he was indeed going to be making earthquakes sometime.
"Well, look at that. Looks like you're going to be learning some Earth magics. Meaning, yeah, earthquakes. But only later on, as we can't have you leaning really powerful stuff before the basics, eh?" Salazar grinned.

Slythor stared, then grinned. "What can we do now? Blow up stuff? Mae the ground split open like in the movies? Move huge boulders?" He asked, grinning happily. He was eager to check out and use his powers to move earth. It sounded so much fun! After all, what could be more cooler than being able to fight without touching anyone.

"First, we're gonna start with a few basics. This'll be like...the first step up towards making whole cliffs fall apart, and boulders fly through the air with a flick of your finger." Salazar said, happy to see that Slythor had enthusiasm. He would be sure to teach this kid several of the spells that he needed to help tame the basics in this class.

Slythor grinned widely at the mere thought of the drestruction he could cause. However, basics, first, yes. But if he worked well he would soon be causing volcanoes to erupt at a wave of his hand, he was sure. He was very, very excited to do his job right now. The more he thought about it, the more he got excited and content at what he would soon be doing. Namely, killing things. "Ok. What'll we do first?"
