A pair of golden amber eyes shone in the dark, glowing with agitation and need. Gethin had been on edge all day, the need to feed was getting stronger and stronger, and it was pressing against his subconscious. He had done whatever he could to get his mind off the need for blood, including hitting his head. But that had only resulted in a headache, and increasing his growing agitation.
It took all of his strength to divert his attentions away from the sleeping heartbeat near him, his ears pulsing and pounding to an imaginary rythem of a heart. He needed to feed, and he needed to now. Gethin stood and stretched, trotting off into the night in search of prey, allowing the instinctual need take over without a glance over his shoulder.

Kega shifted positions in her sleep. She could hear the soft steps of her leader leaving for the night and it made it way to her dreams. She was in nothing more then a half of sleep and she saw golden eyes in her dream peiring at her. Blood dripping from fangs. And soft steps coming her way. She woke up pulling herself to her legs and hitting herself on the wall.
" Just a dream..." She told herself. She had never seen her leader. Actually seen. And that smell was so farmiliar as in the first day she came. She scoop up from the position and smelt the air. A lump caught in her throat and there was only a faint sent of her leader. Had her dream been real and Gethin was gone? No.
Kega went in a fast rate to her leaders den and she smelt no carcass and no blood. But a path of smells still drifted in one direction. Out of instincts she followed it slowly.

His soft pawfalls shifted through the dying grasses of the western territory, keeping low to the ground as he kept his eyes open. His nails clicked occasionally on a rock, though he paid nearly no heed to where he stepped. He kept himself downwind, trying to catch the scent of something in the area. A gazelle, deer, something.. He was just so hungry... He might even settle for--No! Gethin physically shook his head, trying to keep himself from going down that path. He was not that despret. Not yet, anyway.

Kega kept herself hidden under the brush as she crept after the smell. Then something fresh and she heard fur in the wind. She stayed under the bushes and trees as the wind blew her coat. She had no idea that would make her sent go herdling towards someone else.

Gethin sniffed the air, his nostrils flaring as a new smell hit his senses. That was close... and alive. The Lord of darkness grinned, stepping towards the source of the new scent that slowly turned from a walk, to a trot, and to a full out run. His eyes gleamed a pure amber in the darkness, as he leapt with a snarl at his 'prey', not knowing just who it was.

Hearing the snarl she could have thought her dream was real. And she did. She leapt out of the way and hit a tree hard not knowing were she had thrown herself. Had Gethin been eaten by whatever the snarl had crept from.

Landing heavily on the ground, his tail flickered in annoyance. Prey was not suppossed to play games with the hunter. Slowly, Gethin crept up on the white Helix, his elongated fangs bared as he growled low in his throat. He stood upwind of the other, the breeze pushing his scent down at her. But what did he care, he had found his meal.

That triggered Kega. She took a deep yet cheeky growl to her throat and had a hard time pointing it at the predator. " Did you kill my leader?!" She barked. His scent was all over the place and then this wolf was growly and attacking her. What else could it be?

His stride faultered, eyeing the helix before him. Leader? What was she..? Gethin shook his head hard, rubbing a paw over his face. "Kega..?" Momentarily, he seemed to regain control. And his thoughts instantly flew into alarm for her safety. "Kega, you must get out of here...!" Who knows what he might do to her.

Kega didn't relax. She kept her stance growling until the leaders last sentence. She let her shoulders fall to a relax and her paws touched as she stuttered " Gethin..? What...? Is that you who just attack me...?"

Gethin shook his head, stumbling back away from Kega as he could, nearly tripping over his cape as he did. "Please," He begged, all grace was lost as he resorted to begging his pack member away, not answering her question. "please, Kega, you must. I will.. explain when I return. I promise. But you must get away for now, I am not safe to be around for now.."

Kega's ears twitched and her tail swayed. What did he mean? She backed up almost tripping over a few roots of the tree an was still puzzled. " Wah... what?"

Gethin kept himself low to the ground, his ears pinned back against his skull. His tail had ceased moving as he fought off the incessant hunger continued to eat at his mind. He was such a fool, how could he go so long without feeding? "I.. need to feed, Kega... You are.. in danger being around me, like this... I will return.. after I eat, should you still be there... I will explain what I can, to you..."

" Your.... your speaking nonsense Gethin!" Kega said harsher then she should. She did take steps back. Her paws making sure they felt dirt before taking another step. " Everyone needs to feed Gethin why do i need to hide? leave? Why would I..." She had never seen Gethin or his fangs. But that scent of blood on the first day... No that was impossible.

Wincing at her tone, Gethin's mind flew fast, trying to think of any sort of possible answer. "Because..." He sighed lightly, lowering his head until his nose almost brushed against dirt. "When I was younger, I was attacked..." He couldn't go into details for now, but perhaps the jist of the story could help Kega understand. "Since then, every few days.. I have the need to feed.." He paused again, ashamed to look up at her. Though she carried a blindfold over her eyes, he had grown accustomed to tell how she felt through other means. "..on blood."
