The days had been stretching by slowly for many moons, but lately it seemed as if time came and went in odd bouts and at odd speeds. Vi was content moving through the pridelands, spending most of her days by herself. Her cubs were larger now, soon they would be taking care of themselves. They might even leave the lands, though sometimes she didn't think that was such a bad idea at all. She remembered back when her mother took her outside of the pridelands, to train and to become strong...
she smiled faintly and shook her head, yawning. She pulled her golden colored body onto a large slab of rock and peered over the grassy lands, vaguely interested in a herd of gazelle way off in the distance. Should she hunt today? She was unsure, as there really wasn't anything else to do... but she did not think she was hungry, either. She paced on top of the rock, walking along in circles, before several minutes passed and she sat, frowning slightly. Boredom was a murderer, she'd decided.

The stocky red pelted body had been in the Pridelands for awhile now. After his last encounter with a certain someone, he deemed the lands reasonably interesting to keep his attention. At the moment, he was wandering the lands, watching the ground as he walked before looking towards the sky... Another day was passing by slowly.
Ukir Mtima'kasa decided it was time to do something to make the day speed up. A scent entered his maw, and he couldn't help but smirk. So, Miss Golden Princess was near. There was always an amusement when he came across the female, and usually she was the one who mainly kept the crimson male's attention towards these lands. His began to trot, following his nose right to her, noting her pacing on a few rocks.
"Be careful you don't fall Princess!" He called out, using a petty nickname for her.

She almost groaned out in disgust when that voice entered her ears, her eyes narrowed and her tail flicked in an annoyed manner. What did he want now? And with the princess! She jumped from the rock with a throaty 'Tcht' spilling past her maw, as if she thought the notion was rediculous.
"Like I would fall doing something like that." She sneered at him, wondering when the doof would realize she wasn't some little fragile princess. She could fight... maybe she should fight him to get her point through? She smirked as she started to move toward him, intending to go back toward her den.
"Isn't the pretty little rogue bored of this place yet, has he no desire to move on again?" The disgust in her voice was deep, it was obvious she wished the rogue would get off of pride land. "Or have you suddenly decided to settle down here, grown soft and all of that?" She was still sour from the last time she'd run into Red there, he'd surprised her quite a bit and she'd almost taken her paw from the rattle snake, which would have been very stupid. But stars in the heavens how this one had a way of making her skin crawl! And her anger flare, for that matter.

”You never know honey,” another nickname emerged, “some think they are all special until something ridiculous happens. Your foot could have slipped, and then I would be stuck dragging you back to your loving den and nursing you back to health. Now, something tells me you wouldn’t like that too much now would you?” That ever loving smirk rose to his maw as his tail flickered behind him idlely.
“Well darling, I am flattered you think I am pretty, but I think the more…appropriate term is handsome?” He flashed a pearly white smile. “It makes me sound manlier if you catch my drift.” At this, his eyes gave a small waggle, chuckling in a joking manner. “I don’t see how staying here would make me grow ‘soft’ or anything like that,” he gave a lionly shrug. “Things amuse me.
”You amuse me.”

Every time he opened his mouth it made her want to puke, she thought it would be a better idea not to encourage his speaking with questions. "So you sit and come up with there schemes, do you?" She rose a slim brow as she came closer to him, careful not to let any part of her brush against him as she moved past. "And you're correct. Don't come to my den.... I don't care if I was half dead, I wouldn't want you coming to it." She was thankful he didn't know where her den was, at least that was a safe haven in the pridelands.
She made a face of disgust even though he wouldn't be able to see it and forced a chuckle from her throat. She turned her head to look back at him and storted. "You misunderstand, I hardly mean pretty in appearance." She was surprised he didn't gag on the crap that kept coming out of his own mouth.
She kept going though, had to get away from him. She swallowed at his last words, something feeling awefully wrong and unsteady in her chest. She shook her head though, whatever it had been was quickly gone again. "Is that so? Well I can hardly say the same, for me it's more like a hyena ripping at my side." Her voice was dry, trying to stay bored. Indeed, he just pissed her off.... but sometimes she thought things would be much duller without the annoying p***k around. "excuse me, I have hunting to do."

“Honey, you forget one fact I don’t know where your den is…Or, maybe I do, and you just don’t know it.” The devious smirk came to his maw, he wanted to taunt Vi for a while. “I guess your senses aren’t strong during the night as they are doing the day, eh?” Ukir was implying he followed the golden female home one night. He just wanted to ruffle her feathers, but he said no more on that subject.
“That is one painful sounding image if you ask me darling,” she hasn’t once commented on his nicknames to her. “For such a /pretty/” emphasis, “lioness as yourself, you have such a vivid and, may I said morbid imagination.” But this conversation was also led astray as the female brought up the subject of hunting.
“Your excused!” He said cheerfully, following the pridelander. “What are we hunting? Antelopes?” His ears perked forward, shaking his head as the silver mane flopped in the wind.

She really should just turn the tables on him with all of this nickname crap and creeper actions. As if he'd be bored enough to actually follow a lioness home.. "I didn't know you were in love with me, sweets." She purred out, glancing back at him. She had to look away quickly enough though, because she felt rather uncomfortable and more than awkward using this sort of tactic to piss him off. She rolled her eyes at the land ahead, sighing. It couldn't be helped though, she had to try something different to get him to go away. "I mean... to spend that much time coming up with a plan just to follow me home at night.." She shook her head slowly as if she was sad over something. "A pity really, since feelings like those would obviously never be returned to such an irritating... lowly... moron like yourself." By the end of her words her tone had become annoyed and disgusted again, she really couldn't keep up using the same methods as him.
Her tail flicked. Was he still freaking following her? She just wanted to hunt in peace and here he was.. those bullshit nicknames and annoying comments... didn't he have friends? "Don't you have friends around here?" She spat out, mirroring her thoughts. "Stop with all that honey darling crap too... Gods above males are such pigs.." She shot out quietly, as if she was making the last comment sulkily to herself.
She suddenly halted as he declared his intentions of obviously hunting with her, and her ears flattened against her skull as her eyes shut and she took a deep breath, trying to keep control. "Obviously we are hunting nothing...." She trailed off though, wondering if he would go along with hunting something dangerous, like a buffalo! Maybe he would get a good kick in his ribs... She grinned widely at this, obviously amused though she still hadn't moved, she was too busy letting her imagination go a little wild.

”Ah, you know love, neither did I.” If she were to look at him as he spoke, she would most likely see no glint of lie in that eye. However, the way Ukir had said the words was that of a sarcastic manner. What better way to piss off the female by using that tone! “Now, now honey, you haven’t even given me a chance. After all, didn’t I help you with your son a few suns ago? Where is the appreciation I get from that? Not even a thank you,” the red male huffed.
No matter what, the male contined to follow the female. “Hmm…I could say I did have friends here, but there I would miss you when I would be with them. I figured this was the best solution. Besides, wouldn’t you miss me if I weren’t around anymore?” He faked a frown and large brown innocent eyes.
”But…you just said hunting, and well, here I am honey!” he obviously hadn’t heard her earlier comment about the nicknames.

Vi's eyes narrowed and her tail flicked, her head shaking from side to side slightly as she heard him play along. Why had she thought his own game would piss him off as much as it pissed her off? Obviously you should only give out what you could take in return, and that was precisely what he was doing. "And you won't be getting one. I didn't ask you to butt in where you didn't belong, which you did. I'd rather you kept away from my children." Her words were less pissy this time though, almost half hearted. She really had appreciated the fact that the idiot had shown up, as it had been beneficial to she and her son. Still, she wasn't about to hand out thanks if he was going to whine for it like that!
As he began speaking of friends her gaze jerked away from ahead of her and her head was tossed over her shoulder so she could stare at him, confusion clear on her features. He really had to stop that scenario that he actually enjoyed her company. Her eyes lingered on his frown a moment, one eyebrow raised as she contemplated whether he was being serious or not. No, of course not... she doubted he was even lying about having other friends, seeing as he was so damned annoying. "Miss you?" She snorted in answer, as if the notion was ridiculous. Oddly enough she had no more to say on the subject though. "I really doubt you'll be helpful in my huaA-"
Her last words had been obscured as her body suddenly lurched forward and she hissed, an awful popping noise coming from one of her paws. She growled as she tried to right herself, about to yank her paw from whatever it was stuck in when she thought better of it. It hurt! A lot, too much almost. She grunted as she shifted, trying to sit up as her eyes landed on the earth, her paw caught what in what appeared to her to be something of a small creature's den entrance. Snake? Mouse? Perhaps a rabbit... She sneered as she gave her paw a little test-tug and then let out a small gasp of pain, the look on her face getting uglier and uglier as the seconds ticked by.
Her gaze shot to the red male as she remembered he was there, watching her be a fool. "You!" It was very obvious she was blaming him for her own fault, but if he hadn't been there she'd of at least been watching where she was going!

“So…let me get this straight, you would rather have your son risk his life in the eyes of a snake, then me try to help you help him?” Ukir blinked at the logic. “You more selfish than I thought,” he muttered under his breath, glaring at the ground for a second. It wasn’t like he expected a thank you or anything for it, but to say something like that, it just almost hit him.
He was going to answer her with a witty comment about the hunting. He knew those were the words coming out of her mouth, considering what other words in the African world could start with ‘hu’. Something along the lines of ‘look at me, I think I look mighty well fed,’ leading onto another comment like ‘I hunt fine, thank you very much.’ But then again, this was the pridelands, and that meant there were left over scraps of food all over the place from other lions and lionesses dinners. Ukir was just lucky enough to snag them before the hyenas had.
He watched his stumble forward into a hole of some sorts, and then immediately staring right at him. “Me?”
He wanted to turn away and scoff at the female. He knew she was going to try and blame him for this situation. But he didn’t.
“Stay still, else you’ll hurt your paw even more.” He said quietly, moving to where her paw was stuck. He began to dig around the entrance. ‘Please don’t let this be a snake hole,’ He thought to himself.

When she brought her attention back to him though he just ordered her to stay quiet and moved toward her. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously but all that he did was start to dig around her paw. He was very close, and for some reason she was quite enjoying it, enough to forget about what an a** she just made of herself.
She stared at his silver mane for a long moment, and then frowned again. "Well if you insist in helping you should hurry up." She muttered softly, but this time she didn't sound very angry. Her paw hurt like a b***h, she could feel it swelling up already.

“Don’t give me that look,” his ears pinned backwards, wanting to glare so badly at the golden female. Even though he joked roughly about her, calling her petty nicknames, he still cared for the lioness for some odd reason. Perhaps the next wise-man he met would explain the exact concept of that to him, seeing as Ukir was beyond knowing.
Oh shut up, Ukir had thought to himself, pushing away the brownish-gray dirt from her paw. When he saw the area was loose, he nodded towards her. “You should be able to pull it out. I would do so a little quickly, it looks like it is starting to swell a lot.”

She snorted, "Don't tell me what to do." She shot back, tail flicking back and forth as she started to lose her patients. After a moment though he was finished.
Quickly.. she winced and took a deep breath, jerking her paw up. She hissed out the breath and cringed, eyes shut tights as she took a moment to accept the throbbing pain that had shot through her paw. "s**t... why can't my life just be easy.." She growled out, blinking open her eyes and slowly standing. She carefully placed her paw on the ground and tested out her weight on it, before wincing again and lifting it back up. ********, it was going to take forever to get back to her den now!

Ukir just rolled his eyes again as she replied to him. He shook her head, taking a few steps back as she pulled her paw out of the hole quickly. That…looked very painful. It caused the red male to even wince slightly. Seeing as the female couldn’t place her weight on the leg, he frowned. He didn’t want to appear concerned for the female, but his face has told a different story.
“I know you don’t want me to help you, but please. Lean on me, or something, I’ll get you to your den and leave. As long as you stay there that is. It looks like you won’t be able to get far anyways with it.”

She narrowed her eyes at him, though inwardly she was very shocked to see how concerned he looked for her. For some reason it pleased her quite a bit. For a moment she considered telling him to buggar off and she'd do it herself, but he was right in claiming she wouldn't get very far.
And now she would have to let him know where her den was.. She sighed, there was no helping it then. "Fine. But I'm warning you, don't show up there again..." She stood and leaned against him, ready for the torturous walk back to her den.
Well, at least she could get home faster, even if she would be indebted to him.end
