Ethiradan had been rolling so high on agitated the last few days. She seduced him, she had got pregnant and now wanted him to give up his rights to a female he didn't even know??? Ethiradan walked back and forth on the balls of his heels, stalking.. snarling.. growling a little under his breath. He had to calm down, he had to regain his bearings eventually. Being this angry wouldn't help him at all, emotions made you lose it. So being that this was the case... Ethiradan did the only thing he knew, he took a walk out into the pale midnight air to loosen his breath. Perhaps the moon could help him think...

User ImageIslandia was still simmering in her own anger, not wanting to admit to herself it was stupid, and her pride making it all the worse. She knew she was acting like little more than a cub, she knew full well things could never remain the same no matter how much one wished upon the stars that appeared every night…granted, she’d given up that particular habit by the time she was an adult, but still the idea remained true no matter how one looked at it. She knew her and her brother would always be friends, that nothing would separate them truly…except for his new family. She knew it was how it should be, one’s family should always come first, but the fact still remained that she felt like she’d been gypped of her only and best friend.

Ok, ok…Bea was her friend too, but still…

Frustrated, and unable to sleep, Isi got up and took a walk. She cared little where she went, just wanted to get as far away from things as possible. For the first time in her life she admitted to herself she was lonely, and would do near anything for a friend…not that she expected anyone to like a Plain Jane like her.

Ethiradan had to take in a long deep breath to clear his thoughts. His eyes slowly fluttered shut as he tried to let the essence of the world fill his consciousness. The life... the very energy it gave out... it was as if it were his own life force entering back through his body. Perhaps that was what calmed him most, taking back from the very world that cursed him.

Just as he was mediating he heard a noise meander through his ears, his eyes shifted ajar and right in front of him he saw a female standing there. For a moment his breath gave way for she reminded him, "Amaya..." His voice was hardly audible to anyone but himself. In that moment he could curse himself for when he glanced back it was obvious that the girl in front of him wasn't her. Amaya had been lost forever. "Who are you?" He demanded, glaring for the pain that had rippled through his heart at finding his lost love.

Isi had been looking at him curiously, having come upon him when his eyes were shut and just…standing there. She had paused her wandering to wonder what he was doing, standing like that in the middle of the night. Oh well…to each his own, I guess, she’d thought to herself raising one paw to continue onward when he opened his eyes and saw her there. Figuring it’d be rude to leave now, she started to put her paw back down, but paused herself when she realized he seemed shocked to see her, which in turn shocked her just with the weirdness of it all. No one had ever been shocked to see HER.

“Amaya…”

The word was barely loud enough for her to hear, and she cocked her head. As realization seemed to hit him that she was not who he’d mistaken her to be, his tone changed to one gruff and angry. Her own anger had abated in her forgetfulness, but his tone brought all her own hurt and anger back. She returned his glare back with one of her own. “I’m sorry?! Who the hell are you?”

Ethiradan raised one brow when she returned his angry aggression back at him, however instead of seeming insulted, he merely turned his head and shut his eyes again. Remain calm... He reiterated himself and when he finally came to his full mind he realized just how comical the situation seemed to be. A slight smirk pulled at the ends of his lips but his face remained hidden before he turned to face her. "My... apologies..." The word seemed hard for him to say. "You startled me." He gave a thoughtful and yet quizzical glance in her direction before walking passed. She hadn't answered him so he decided to not answer her.

Isi's glare was daggers as she watched him turn his head away from her and close his eyes. His next words actually startled her as she more expected a retort back for her own rude demand. She was silent for a moment longer, least till he began to walk past her. "I...apologize as well." The words were as hard for her to say as it'd been for him, and she hung her head sadly. Very quietly, more to herself than anyone else, she added, "E cruimth'd dyga so yhkan uid uh res..." (Translated: "I shouldn't take my anger out on him.")

She stood there for a moment longer, head and tail hung low, and body slumped before she did something she'd never done before...she actually took the initiative. Without letting herself think about it, she turned tail and trotted till she was just behind him before calling out, "My name's Islandia...if you'd like to know. I'm sorry....for...what I said earlier..." Her nervousness coming back, she wondered if he'd tell her to get lost, not that she'd blame him if he did.

Her tone caused a smirk to pull at his lips. He instantly paused his travel but remained with his back to her for some time. Did he dare? It would be so easy.. so easy to do to her exactly what he did to Amaya. To play her, to use her.. he could so easily wrap her around his paw... "..Amaya..." With a grimace he shook the thought from his head, that was the reason the woman he loved was dead. Maybe doing it again wasn't a good idea... maybe.

"Islandia." He said aloud with more conviction in his voice as his head turned to her direction. He stepped close, eying her with a deep fire in his eyes as his gaze moved up and down. "I'm Ethiradan." Gods... she'd be so fun to play with, his skin was practically oozing in an anticipation for it. But something kept him back from fully going for it, at least for now. "Why be sorry for a mere misunderstanding?"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 18, 2008 5:52 pm

Isi mere waited for him to acknowledge her, though full prepared to walk away if he didn't...and actually was just about to when he turned around, whispering the one name he'd mentioned earlier before he did so. Amaya...who is she? she wondered, but kept the thought to herself for now at least.

The look in his eyes as he looked her up and down had her instantly on the defensive, partially from low self-esteem, but moreso from something in his eyes that....well, she couldn't put a paw on it. Instead of running off as might of been her habit before, she narrowed her eyes slightly and stood her ground, chin lifting ever so slightly as if daring him to try and use her. She wasn't stupid, let him go and think he could wrap her around his paw. For once, she would prove she's the daughter of two of the greastest warriors that Spira and the Pride Lands had ever seen. She didn't trust him, but since she HAD started this conversation, she'd go along with it for now. Least it'd pass the time, might even be fun.

She let her face soften slightly into a smile as she purred, "Ah, but is it not good manners to apologize when one has misunderstood another?" She walked around him for a moment, looking him over as he'd looked her, letting herself get close, but not enough to touch, only entice. "Ethiradan...strong name for a handsome lion. Tell me...what brings you out on a beautiful night such as this?" If Mama could only see me now, wonder what she'd be thinking?

There's a good girl.. He thought to himself and let out a half stifled chuckle. The girl was entertaining and she had a brighter fire in her than he first thought possible, but then again so did Amaya. He had to admit that was the reason she reminded him of her in the first place. And there she was trying to butter him up! My, he even might say she had a little spunk in her, but as much as she tried to hide it it wasn't very becoming. Faked, almost too faked. She wasn't going to outwit him. "You know.." He began, braids falling into his eyes, "You almost remind me of someone I once knew... An annoying little fairy girl.. named Nertari. She and I had a love hate relationship." A laugh came from his throat at remembering the mind games he played with her. Now that was fun. And it might be fun to play with this girl, but not near as tantalizing as Nertari had been. "Not that I'm calling you annoying, you just seem.. fun.. or am I wrong about that?" He purposely ignored the idle chitchat questions. It was all so boring to him to talk about stupid events that neither one of them really cared about. Why not get to the heart of the conversation?

Isi shrugged nonchalantly, chuckling lightly, and she wondered for a moment why she'd done so much hiding as a cub when she could of been having fun like this. It's cause I'm plain and ugly...and it's the same reason he's playing me now. He'll have no real interest in me, just a momentary toy to play with is all. The thought made her angry, which in turn fueled her desire to let no lion get the better of her anymore. Let him play with his toy, but let him remember this toy had claws. "Fun? Perhaps...I guess it's something you'll have to decide for yourself, now isn't it?" she cooed right back.

It was actually a bit of an odd scene, Ethiradan wasn't playing the girl.. at all. It would have been quite obvious had he been, he would have been nice, nonchalant and may have even seemed genuine. As it was now he was showing her his true self which was rare. Something in the girl caused him to forget about the dark desires that he had hidden in himself. Maybe it was the memory of Amaya, or maybe it was the thought that no matter how hard this girl seemed to want to play back it could and would never be as fun as the games he had played with Nertari back then. The girl actually intrigued him, though he had to admit that most of that was because she was trying so hard to be something she wasn't. She had just as much to hide as he did.

Giving a slight chuckle he shrugged and moved away from her. "My question is this... why is it.. that you have such a wall erected around yourself? You.." He glanced at her and thought about complimenting her but decided against it because for him that would be all to easy to slink into the coy game stage that he was trying to avoid, "..seem to be a well off individual. You have a high upbringing, brains and even morals it seems. So why is it that you come out all this way to indulge someone like me with this game of cat and mouse?"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 18, 2008 7:10 pm

Isi laughed, this time very genuinely. Ironically, perhaps she'd found her true self after all, and was more like her mother than she'd originally thought. "Is it a crime now to have morals, brains a good upbringing and to want to go for a walk in the moonlight looking for some...company? I could say and ask the same of you, but I think it'd be fruitless to do so. After all, you seem about as interested in answering personal questions as I am."

Laying down, she crossed her front paws over each other, her tail flicking in amusement. She'd stopped playing as well, though she still didn't trust him at all. This banter was amusing, and at the very least, she'd go home in a better mood for once. "My wall is my concern, and to learn my reasons for it you'll have to earn my trust, and I'll tell you right now, my trust comes not as easily as one might think. Besides, why should I tell a stranger about my innermost thoughts and feelings? I highly doubt you'd care to learn them as you hardly know me."

This time Ethiradan laughed in a heartier way than merely a chuckle, "You know how wrong everything you just said sounds? What kind of company?" Smirking, he gave his best impression of mocking a seductress wink which was very comical to see him do, he would never be able to pull that off, even if he was trying a job that required him to. That had to be the one thing that he couldn't pull off in all his years of acting.

At least though she had that much right about him. Still, he had been enjoying the banter, even if it wasn't his intention. He supposed all in all he could never completely get away from his games, and now the rouse had been doused. However, he hadn't laughed that way in so long, or even joked for that matter. Maybe there was some hope somewhere for the girl. Not that he would ever admit to getting attached to anyone. "Frankly, I have no concern for your feelings." Well, at least he was being blunt, but now there was no way he could ever play her if he changed his mind. It was rare to have him show such honesty, "I'm about as interested in your problems or in pitying you as I am in a bug. No offense, but I'm sure you have just about as much interest in telling me. I'm more interested in why you hide. Might not sound different to you, but there is a reason everything occurs. And the interest is in realizing the way that one's mind perceives certain things. Completely from a scientific stand point I'm afraid."

Isi chuckled at his wink, comical as it was, and had to admit he was right that all that she'd said at first had come out rather bad. However, no point in taking back something that was the truth of a sort. She had been looking for some company, whether it was a friend or just someone to fight with. For a moment, she felt a longing for someone to be close to. Not a love interest, but a friend of her own, and wondered if he was looking for a friend too. His next comments settled in her mind that no, he wasn't, in fact she wondered if he had many friends period. Probably not, I bet her cares little for anyone but himself. Anyone he runs into would be little more than a temporary distraction from whatever is really on his mind, and I bet more than likely I'll never meet him again. Oh well, such is life.

Aloud, she stated, "Why does anyone erect a wall? Protection is one reason, and probably my main one. In this case, my wall protects me from being disappointed, after all in such meetings as ours, I've learned high expectations get you hurt. If you don't expect anything, or very little, you aren't hurt when things don't go so well. Or in our case, when we part, it keeps me from being disappointed that you probably won't even think of me again for the rest of your life 10 minutes after we part. I hold few illusions or expectations that anything, even friendship, might result from this chance encounter. It's not much more than a temporary distraction from whatever is on our minds and little else. After all, you said so yourself, you're really about as interested in what makes me tick as you are a bug." In her mind, she added and I like to learn about others, but learning about others forces you to open up yourself, and I refuse to let myself be hurt, specially by someone who sees me as having not much more worth than a bug.

Ethiradan quirked his brow in a surprised manner. She had answered the question in a intellectual manner, keeping her feelings out of the proceedings. He hadn't expected that. She had obviously been growing more adapt to his questioning. She sounded too much like him, too weathered and disappointed over the events of her life. This made him frown slightly, almost feeling sympathetic to her but he wouldn't let this show, he couldn't let it show that he could care for anyone. Sad really. "What tells you that I won't think of you again?" Truth be told, he couldn't think of why he would think of her, their meeting was by pure chance, however, somehow he knew he would. There was something about this girl... something... different from the others he had met. Although, saying what she did did reveal a part that she had wanted something more from their meeting. He found this interesting. Why would she want him as a friend? Why would anyone for that matter.

"On the contrary, I'm very interested in what makes you tick." He rebutted, "What I'm not interested in is the sappy 'I hate the world because blah blah blah...' s**t. To a degree, life is what you make it." He stepped closer to her, staring her directly in the eyes. "You're honest, perhaps a bit naive, but you have potential." Shifting on his heels so his back was now facing her, deciding to be honest for himself, "Why do you want me to think of you?" His back still turned. "I should be nothing more than a 'temporary distraction' as you say.." His eyes flickered back in her direction, drifting over her figure. "Why should you care what I think? Your worth shouldn't be based on one futile, hopeless, being such as myself..."
