After failing getting a stone in which he saw another wild dog have, he decided he would move on from that. He'd get one sooner or later, just depended on if he'd remember it or not. Or if the male was still there down the road. He hated not getting the items in which he so desperately wanted. Though, he only wanted them because he couldn't have them, or they caught his eye. He'd have to continue his search for things he might enjoy hording.

His pile grew every day, but it was never enough. He had to have it all. Everything he could find. He'd never be satisfied until he had everything his heart desired. Lothaenorixius was selfish, and really only thought of himself. No one else, unless they proved to show that they had something he might want. Something that would add to his pile of treasures, if you will.

Frustration was beginning to build up. He wasn't finding anything he liked. It wasn't fun when things where going the way he wanted. He frowned as he padded along slowly, eying the ground as if it was hiding stuff from him on purpose. Why, why would it do this to him? He hadn't done anything wrong to the earth in which he lived.

Well, this morning had certainly been an interesting turn of events.

Eusi had woken up to find that every single rabbit hole she stalked was empty. Every bird's nest had over-protective parents and therefore no hope of getting an avian meal. And every gazelle and other running creature seemed to smell her before she was even a decent distance away.

Her empty stomach was not a very happy one.

So she tried to find somewhere to get a drink. She went to her usual stream, but found it surrounded by thirsty, angry hyenas. She left. The second stream was her back up stream, and the entire thing was way, way too dirty to possibly drink out of. And she wasn't one to drink dirty water.

Eusi was starving, thirsty, and rather hot under the blazing sun, though there was a cool breeze floating by on occasion.

That was when chance had it to give her something for her troubles. As she turned to leave the filthy stream behind, a small glimmer caught her eye and brought her back. There was a shiny gemstone embedded in the dirty part of the stream's bottom. And it was her curiosity that edged her on to dig it out. It took her a moment, but the golden rock was soon unearthed and laid at her feet, on the ground.

The color almost matched her eyes, gleaming off the sunlight as it did. A smile lit up her face as she sat to inspect her prize further.

Lothaenorixius continued to move slowly. His feet protesting and wanting to move faster. But he couldn't. What if he missed that special treasure. The one the he'd want so badly, yet couldn't get it because he simply missed it. Of course, he had no clue what he really wanted. Besides anything that anyone else had but himself.

Having his nose and eyes to the ground, he didn't see the female wild dog that was in the direction he was going. Nor the treasure she had. For, if he had, he'd have moved much faster then he was going. Sniffing the ground as if he might have to take a dump.

Her nose went down to sniff the rock and inquire as to what it was made of. This was one of the strangest things she had ever seen before, and it wasn't about to get away from her.

She ignored her growling stomach and turned the stone over and over with a paw, playing with it. Eusi yipped quietly and happily with her prize. She did not notice the male, either, who was approaching rather closely.

A noise made him shoot up his head to look around. Stopping in place, he eyed the female in front of him. Odd, he didn't remember anything in front of him. But he wasn't really paying any attention. She looked as if she was almost as dark as he. Though, it seemed she was happy about something, about something shiny in her paw.

Which got him interested. He moved towards her in a sneaky way, trying to get a glimpse of what she might have. He wanted it... Whatever it was, he wanted it. Only because she had it, and he didn't. Now weather or not when he got it, or if he did, would he still like it. Of course, he probably would since he loved anything and everything that interested him. "That's mine." He spoke finally. "I've been looking for it." A easy lie. She couldn't say it wasn't his.

Suddenly, there was another creature there. Eusi blinked in surprise and shot her head up to look at the male. Where had he come from?

"Excuse me?" she tried to be polite, as she glanced from him to her stone. He was staring at it awfully...odd. "Well, if it was yours, why was it in the river in the first place? Seems to me if something is so valuable--or even not, just a possession--I'd doubt that one would simply 'lose' it into a river." As friendly as she wanted to be towards this male, he kind of rubbed her the wrong way, for some reason. So she was a bit skeptical about giving him her rock.

"I dropped it. Seeing as I pass her often, I always carry things here and there. I happened to come looking for it." It was so easy to lie, and when you were so use to doing it, it came as if it was the truth to other people. Though, she could possibly just simply say it was hers now since she found it. Then, he'd find problems with the female.

He wanted that thing, and would do anything to get it. well, not anything. He wouldn't kill her. Or wouldn't try anything else with her. Just snatch it at the first opportunity possible. "I live around here, and you have no right calling me a liar." He told her in a almost believable offended face.

Her ears couldn't help but bending back a little bit; her eyes widened in shock. "I'm sorry, I don't remember calling you a liar. Simply that it's my rock. You may have lost one similar to it." she began to step back a few paces, taking her rock with her.

And she said the one thing that he probably did not want to hear. Not now, not at all. Because that would cause problems for him. And from his attitude at the moment, she wasn't quite sure he didn't deserve it.

"But I honestly think that this is now my rock. I found it first, after all."

Getting more and more desperate for that rock. He frowned a little. So she wasn't the kind type to give back someone's lost possession. "Fine, but maybe I can work for you to get it back. Lets say, a lovely meal. Or something else you might have in mind?" He offered. He wanted that damn rock and he wasn't going to give up. "It means a lot to me." He lied, but did it with a convincing face.

Hm, a bribe. This could be interesting.

"All right," she said with a sly smile that came across as innocent. Two could play this game. "A hot meal sounds lovely. I would greatly appreciate say...perhaps a rabbit or two? You would be welcome to share, of course." And she slyly sidled up closer to him, batting her eyelashes in the most flirtatious way she knew--that was still tasteful and not outright wrong. Or slutty.

He gave her a rather disgusted look as she bat her eyes at him and came closer. What the heck was he suppose to do with that? Catch her too rabbits for a rock. Sounds rather easy. Though, perhaps there was a catch behind this little thing. "Well, I can't unless I know for sure I'll be getting that which his mine." He said eying her. He didn't trust her, but then again, he didn't trust anyone. Especially when they had something that he wanted.

"Oh, and I can't be sure you'll get that which is yours unless I get that which is mine," she retorted with a smile. "Now, I saw some rabbits over there a few minutes ago." Eusi kindly nodded over to one side and sat down, prepared to wait for her free meal. "I'll be here when you get back."

Though, see, she had no clue whether or not this rock was truly his. And because of that, she technically didn't need to give it to him. The Finders' Keepers' rule was in full effect.

He glared at her. She was being a real pain. Now he realized why he stayed away from females. Horrible creatures they were. Always manipulating males. How was it they could do it so well? He snorted and stood up heading in the direction she pointed. He had an Idea though. He'd get that object weather she liked it or not. She wouldn't get her meal if she didn't he'd eat it right in front of her.

He grinned to as he went and started to smell the air. He never did catch bunnies too great, but he had his own tricks up his sleeve. She better not mind a mutilated rabbit. Or that was too bad for her, which would mean too bad for him too. Damn his wanting things he couldn't have.

It took about ten minutes to get a smell of a fresh rabbit in his nostrils. About time, he thought as he started to look for the smell. It was irritating he had to do this, stupid females. He just wanted to attack her. He wasn't blow it, but that would be the last resort. Finally, he spotted the little long eared creature. It's brown fur so nice and in place. Too bad it wouldn't stay that way for long. It hadn't noticed the wild dot yet. For, he was down win from the rabbit.

As he watched it carefully, he jumped out at it when he thought was the best time. As it noticed him, it was too late. The wild dog had it around the neck with his sharp k-9's. There was no way he was catching two. He was too lazy for that. Especially for a female he has been dealing with. He made sure it was completely dead before heading back towards the female. Oh, the fun he'll have now.

She watched him go with a smile, and as soon as his back was turned, she dug into the bottom of the shallow stream before her. The small hole was large enough to completely cover the rock, and she quickly slid it in while the male did the hunting. Then she pranced around in the water a bit, stirring up the bottom dirt all around so he wouldn't be able to tell.

And then, just for giggles, she went ahead and dug a few holes near (but far enough away) where they had met. Just deep enough to give him a little workout, but with nothing in them.

See how he likes it.

Then, smiling innocently as she had been before, Eusi sat down where she had previously been and began licking her paws clean.

Lothaenorixius was there now. He dropped the rabbit at his feet and sat down. "I am not giving you this until after you hand me that stone." He hadn't a clue what she had just done. He didn't want to play games anymore. This rabbit was far enough. He glared at her with his black eyes. He didn't like being used for food, and the only way he'd do anything for another was a bit of a bribe. And that rock worked well.
