Bouncing on his hooves, Laures danced from fading flower to fading flower. Winding his way across the meadow to the river. Too long he had stayed in this place trying to recover himself. It was time for him to travel. To try and find his place. Maybe to find his family, maybe to find the place in all his stories. All he knew was that it was a good time to get out and live. The wind was blowing, bringing with it a slight chill, the promise of winter to come. He hoped that his adventures would bring him somewhere it was warm and where he could fly and be content. But no matter what, he would go wheresoever the wind brought him, and he would go with a smile on his face.

Sugar was swimming in the river, well as much as a soquili can swim. She often went to the sea, but she need to take a bath and the salty water hurted her coat a little when she was dried. It was a good day and she was hoping to go exploring the land a little, she still didn't know all the part and she was curious.

The sound of some splashing down river from where he was caught Laures attention. He had been alone for too long, and the lure of possible companionship was irresistable.
They obviously weren't a flutter, for what self-respecting flutter would allow their wings to get waterlogged and thus become useless. He shuddered. Losing the ability to fly, to feel the caress of the wind, was criminal.
Curiosity and a natural desire to be social drew him. Deciding to follow the impulse, he flew backwards just enough to be out of reach of any stray waterdrops and followed the splashing. Drawing close to the source, the first thing he noticed was the bright white and red coat. Then the decided lack of wings. A regular then. That explained a lot. He nodded to himself before moving closer to make himself seen.

Sugar ears moved quickly, something was coming on her side. She looked arround but first she didn't see anything, did she heard wrong ?
No, the noise was definitely coming her way. The her eyes caught a bright green and blue form, it was small so at first she thought it was a foal. But with the big flutter wings she saw she guess it was an adult flutter.
She went outside the water and shock her body a little to drop the water on her mane and tail. "Hello" she said finally

Withdrawing a slight bit, Laures bobbed in the air in an approximation of a bow. Acknowledging her greeting.
He couldn't help but shudder with distaste as she shook the water off her coat. He could never understand how or why some actually enjoyed playing in the water. Plastering a smile on his face, he greeted the mare.
"Greetings, Lady. How might you be on this fine Fall day?"

"I am doing fine thank you, just taking a little bath. But i guess for you it may be awfull. I have some flutter friends and i know they hate water because of their wings." She nodded in a sort of appologize. "I am Sugarberry, nice to meet you"

Laures smile became more genuine. Here was a regular who knew others of his kind, and who could probably relate to him at least a little. He needn't worry about offending her with his distance.
He rolled her name on his tongue. "It is pleasant to meet you as well, Sugarberry. A lovely name befitting a lovely mare such as yourself. "
And though he didn't necessarily like water didn't mean he was unaware of reasons to enjoy it, and on such a beautiful day, he wouldn't hold it against her. " It is a good day to take advantage of a river such as this. It will, after all, be too cold to truly enjoy soon, unless you're fond of freezing water?"
He flew slightly closer to the friendly mare. It would be easier to hold conversation. Perhaps he might find out more about the others of his kind in this land as well as making a new friend. It was a win-win situation either way.

She smiled, looked like this stallion was friendly and a good gentleman. "Thank you for the compliment. Yes i take advantage of the sun, before there is snow everywhere. I don't like freezing water at all, but in general i'm going at the sea, because i love it and i have my familiar friend who is a dolphin here." She sat down on the grass, not wanting to look at him from high because flutter are smaller soquili and sometimes they are complexed about it. But she just wanted to lay on the grass to.
"You have really pretty wings, like butterflies, my friends ones are much strange i think." she stopped a moment realising something. "Oh you didn't give me your name yet" biggrin

"It is not hard to compliment when one is merely speaking the truth." He shuddered at the mention of cold and snow. If there was one thing he truly disliked, it was winter- well, aside from waterlog and being forced to change size to gain notice and respect. And having a familiar who dwelled in the sea - at least he assumed that dolphins were sea-dwellers- made for an excellent reason for one to be fond of it. "Perhaps you might be willing to enlighten me- just what is a dolphin? I have never met one."
He realized when she mentioned her friend and such that he had forgotten to give his name. He blushed.
"I thank you for your kind words, and apologize most sincerely for my apalling lack of manners. My name is Laures."

She nodded. "It is a nice name you got here. A dolphin is ...." she was searching her words, because actually she never described it. "It look like a fish, a big fish but are marine mammals that are closely related to whales and porpoises" She tried to figure out other explaination but couldn't find a better one. "I hope it help ? My friend Yahto is light grey colored, it's a male"
