I'm tall. That's all I can really say. But, I always see shoes I like, but they aways have platforms that are too tall for me. Normally, I don't care very much at all about shoes, I can go to formal parties in sneakers. But, occasionally, it's good to have some shoes that are showy.
Do any of you have problems with shoes that are too tall?

Personality, I like mary janes that are short but I also like the platforms since I'm only 5'2" but I can understand where you are coming from. It's hard to find shoes like that aren't so tall. I myself like to wear cute vintage heels that are very short. I like to be shorter than my boyfriend. x:
Here's an example of short maryjanes:

They aren't the greastest but they work with some outfits. I think those are TUK.. they are usa and maybe uk I think but I'm not sure. But I recommend trying your luck on ebay and maybe look through a few cosplay shops that sell shoes. (online) Or just browse gothic shoe stores too. My friend was browsing through gothic stores the other day and there were some decent shoe shops and even some loli. If this is a big problem with you just keep looking until you find the kind of shoes that fit you perfect. ^^; Good luck. <3

I don't have that problem, I need the extra height! I can understand where you're coming from though, I have a few friends that are tall. They like wearing heels but it makes them so tall and they get embarrassed.
I unfortunately have nothing helpful to say. .__.

I second Nefarious Vile's statement. MaryJanes are great. I have a pair of the kitty faced TUK shoes, but just a word to the wise, wear socks or thick stockings, if not they can sorta scrape up your ankle area. XD Then again, I had worn them to a concert, so I guess that wasn't the greatest idea I've ever had....<<; Also, these aren't 100% lolita style, but they would be cute, plus the heel isn't all that big. Target 0_0 I guess another thing that would work for taller people would be those lovely Btssb shoes, that look ever so comfortable. Only down side is the huge price tag. ;P Or if you were totally decked out in loli, I would also think that you could say 'what the heck' and just wear high heels anyways. You would alread stick out as it is, so I guess being a bit taller wouldn't hurt. XD

Personally, I don't like to wear very tall shoes because I'm afraid of getting hurt.
For all the major anime conventions I go to, I organize a cosplay dance group (click the link in my signature if you're interested. ^^). Anyways, I can't afford to break or twist my ankle because of my team that needs me.
Also, because my parents are often late sweatdrop , I have to run around the conventions a lot. I've got these great chunky Mudd mary-janes that I ran around in a panic in. I was extremely lucky to not get hurt. Well, if that's not a cosplaying skill, I don't know what is. Do I graduate now? ^^
On the other hand, I really like the look of an awsome pair of platforms. It really completes the entire "Visual" look, eh? I'd like to get some for my next design. 3nodding

it makes sense lolita is a japenese based fashion scene and although asians have been blessed with bitching hair and soft skin they are usually short and flat chested. thats why they have worn big shores for like.... i think aournd 10 years it has been a common trend and thats why henti was invenvented gonk

I wear a size 11½-12 in women's, and it is incredibly hard to find even a pair of sneakers without having to buy men's, evenmore so when I try to find dress shoes.
