Hobbies:
Cooking- Nusumu's favorite pastime! Generally, she prefers baking to cooking entrees, but she has learned to be flexible. Over the years, her cooking has greatly improved, and she is able to cook a number of dishes (again, mostly baked goods) well. She is still critical as ever of her work, usually able to find a flaw in it, but still hopes that people will enjoy her creations.
Sneaking- Nusumu's other favorite pastime. Second because it's not always legal. Some of sneaking falls under just plain being sneaky, surprising people and playing the occasional practical joke. The rest falls under what would be nicely put as "creative acquisition" and more plainly as "theft." Nusumu's conscience has developed some over the years, and she rarely takes important possessions for fear of hurting their owners. Still, she does have a habit of picking up less conspicuous objects, and considers it a mark of pride to walk away with something without the original owner noticing.
Papercutting- Relax, Porcelain everywhere! The scissors that Nusumu carries are not for cutting robes anymore. She still likes cutting things, however, and has started to channel this into a the arts of Kirigami and Jiǎnzhǐ. The former is a derivative of the more well known Origami, in which the folder is permitted to make cuts in the paper, while the latter is the Chinese art of papercutting. Nusumu is a relative beginner at both, but she enjoys learning and making pretty things with her hands.
Collecting- Nusumu collects everything. No, really. If you have it, chances are, she wants it. Fortunately, Nusumu's tendency to grab things has been tempered ever so slightly. She does have special collections of three things: cookbooks, cake pans, and scissors. She also has a somewhat smaller collection of icebuckets. These are her most important collections, though she still adds whatever she can to the collection known as the hoard.
Upholstering- One of Nusumu's odder interests. She is able to sew, but not well, and the garments she has tried to make end up uneven and frequently unraveled. She does, however, fare better at reupholstering furniture (working strictly in the padding and textile areas of the process), and frequently recovers their couch with new fabric depending on what mood she's in.
Hostessing- While Nusumu is not the most social Porcelain, she does like to get out and see her friends when she can. Even better is when she can cook a nice meal for everyone and act as hostess. There is something comforting about being on her own turf and in charge. Usually, she is a gracious hostess who tries to make her guests comfortable. However, she has had few opportunities to host guests as of late.
Occupation:
Short Order Cook - By day, Nusumu is a short order cook at a family restaurant in Barton. This is a part time job; she usually just helps out on especially busy days and when other cooks are sick. As a short order cook, her job is focused on simpler dishes that are easy to prepare, and she frequently has to make several of the same meal at a time. Nusumu dislikes the position and the establishment, however, they were the only ones who were willing to hire a "mute" cook. Still, she frequently searches for a new job. Nusumu was released from this position while in the Silver World. Currently looking (though not urgently) for a new job.
Teh Sneaky Thief- By night, however, Nusumu is one half of the Sneaky Thief Duo (the other half being Sneaky, of course). The two frequently burglarize shops in Barton, as well as in the surrounding towns. However, they never go after money or valuable merchandise. Their targets are usually things that will be missed, so that frequently, the store owners can't quite figure out what the thieves stole. Much of their hauls contain day to day essentials such as food and paper goods.
Notes on Nusumu:
- Like most of the Porcelain from Dragonlamp, Nusumu is older than her physical appearance. During the Porcelain Restoration, she was reverted from an adult to a child (much to her surprise and anger). She has grown some since, but the change to ancient Porcelain was fairly sudden and unexpected. It is also worth noting that, while Nusumu is biologically ancient, she is still on the short side. whee
- Despite her status as a Restored (and now biologically ancient) Porcelain, Nusumu does not speak. She is capable of speech, and has unconsciously said things aloud during times of stress. However, she considers speech unnecessary, and even an impediment, since no self-respecting thief talks during a job if they can help it. She can understand most Gaian speech, but even if confronted with a person who does not understand her mindspeech, Nusumu will still refuse to speak aloud on principle.
- Nusumu is capable of reading basic words and lists, but she cannot understand grammar (largely because no one ever tried to teach her). Books make little sense to her; the only ones she can understand are cookbooks, which are fairly straightforward and have lots of pictures. She is far better with numbers than with words, and capable of doing simple to moderate arithmetic in her head, useful when adjusting a recipe.
- Like most Porcelain from Dragonlamp, Nusumu only has fleeting memories of the place (dark streets, lots of lamps, despair, and so on). Though she and Sneaky had planned to go with a group of Porcelain and guardians to help other children in Dragonlamp, they were unable to do so.
- No, Nusumu does not have a human (or even humanoid) guardian (that's right folks, DS is NOT her guardian, and she will eat you if you suggest it). She does not consider this unusual. On the contrary, she thinks everyone who has a human caretaker is odd. She and DS are on very bad terms, with Nusumu thinking DS is a horrible guardian, and DS thinking that Nusumu is a spoiled child. Ah well.
- Back in the first shop, Sneaky and Nusumu were involved in a plan that was "very important," according to Sneaky. This plan involved stealing parts of other Porcelain's robes and Sneaky's extended absence from the cottage. However... for the life of me, I can't remember what their goal was. XD; Until I do, or figure something out, please keep questions about it to a minimum ICly so I don't have to scramble for an answer. Thanks. <3

Boyan-oniichan... it is impossible to stay mad at him, even if you try! He is old now, which makes Nusumu feel weird. But aside from that, not much has changed.

Yousei has a lot of spunk and courage, though Nusumu is concerned that she is thinking about too much at this time.

Nusumu has always thought Tsubei to be a deep-thinking person, and often sad. She has given Nusumu much to consider.

Nusumu does not hate him, but he is noisy, and usually in the way.

Owner of an udon-ya around which Porcelain seem to gather. He struck Nusumu as a bit anxious, but very kind.

Fiesty princess-girl! Nusumu was initially impressed by her disguise, and truly admires her strength of spirit, but worries that Shuuken might be angry with her.
What is so special about her, that Nusumu would choose to follow her to another world?

Nusumu remembers him chasing after little Melo. He had best take very good care of her, or she will be an angry auntie!

Though Nusumu only saw him briefly, she is grateful for the kindness he showed Sneaky while she was away, and would be happy to cook for him sometime.
Maybe being sneaky and scary isn't always a good thing, if it can frighten people who might be friends. He makes good hot dogs, and told Sneaky more about Porcelain and the other worlds.

While Nusumu fears she startled him, he is a gracious host. She never would have guessed that perfumery and baking had much in common; he taught her a number of things she'd had no interest in before.

How can anyone live out of a bag? Weird, but anyone who appreciates Nusumu's food must have some sense.

This desperately needs to be worked on, but I'll be tacking a few things up periodically.
 Where did this come from?
Important Articles of the Hoard:
- Racy photos of Tsukiba. Also, Tsukiba's underwear.
- A collection of Aeya plushies, given to Nusumu by Gongjin
- A number of strips of cloth in various colors, awkwardly sewn together
- Nusumu's collections of cookbooks, cake pans, and scissors
- An icebucket, which seems to have multiplied into several icebuckets.
