Yeesha wasn't entirely sure she liked the library.

So far, she had managed to get herself glared at no less than ten times by the librarian for doing things that she could do in the normal world. Apparently they were suddenly Bad Behaviour when you entered the library. The alligator girl didn't quite understand why being in the library was different from being in school, but for some reason Jasper insisted they just play by the nasty lady's rules. She'd had to keep her voice down (which meant, in plain terms, be really quiet), not take other girl's chairs, share her books with others, and make sure to put things back where she got them. Up until she had found the picture book section, Yeesha had been less than amused.

But now she had a stack of a good thirty books next to her, and was leafing through them gleefully. Jasper had settled down near her with his own quirky collection of books, seemingly pleased that she was finally enjoying herself. Yeesha didn't mind him being there – he wasn't disturbing her – instead focusing on "The Frog Prince" which she held in her hands. It was such a funny story that she couldn't help but giggle every now and then, earning her some looks from the librarian (which she ignored).

Well it was official Sonja had officially dismantled something she couldn't put back together. How she had reached the thermostat Ara had no clue but until the repair man was gone, she and Sonja would have to be out of the apartment. They didn't have to leave but the murderous glare the repair man was giving Sonja, for bugging him with incessant question, was enough to creep Ara out. So the library it was, nothing Sonja could take a part here right?

This was the most boring place, EVER! There was nothing whirring or even beeping here it was just quiet. Mom said books could teach her things, well give her a screw driver and a couple of hours and she could learn about anything...maybe even her new pet dragon.

Small arms crossed over her chest and a extremely annoyed expression on her face she allowed herself to be lead over to the children book section of the library.

"Now just pick one out and I'll read it to you ok?" Ara said and went to go find a seat. Sonja huffed and dragged her feet over to the selves and carelessly glanced over them not finding any that caught her pique.

The alligator finished her book with a small snort, closing it and tossing it onto the steadily growing pile of fairy tales she'd acquired. Another story that ended with a kiss! Why did all these stories have to end with marriage and love and mushy stuff? What was the point of turning the prince into a frog if all the princess had to do was kiss him? She should have gone on an epic quest to slay the witch that had done it, thus breaking the curse on the prince. And then they could go and play tag. Now that would have been a good story.

Dissatisfied with her current book stack, Yeesha hopped off her chair and made a beeline for the book shelves. There had to be a good book in this library! She was running her fingers down the spines of the books when she suddenly realized that there was a someone blocking her path. "Looking for thomething?" She asked Sonja, in a voice that earned her another frown from the librarian.

Sonja looked up and blinked at the older girl in confusion, she was like her! Well scalier but still like her, she kinda looked like a dragon.

"Not really, books are kinda dumb, there's nuthin to do with em." Her tail twitched behind her in annoyance. "Are you stuck here too? Were you bad? Mommy brought me here cause I took apart the them..thearm-moe-state-thingy, and then was a dishtrakshun."

She struggled to pull out a large brightly colored book from the shelf and ended up dropping it on the floor with a loud slap, which was immediately shushed. With a humpf she bent to pick it up and managed to barely lift it. "I'm Sonja who'er you?"

"Well, I think you're th'posed to read them," Yeesha replied, giving a small shrug, "But you could hit people with them." Unfortunately, that would probably get both of them intro trouble. Somehow, whoever started the mess always got into the bigger trouble while the person who finished it seemed to get off fairly easily. Thus, the alligator girl would rather wait until someone else started something so she could blame it all of them. It was easier that way.

At the mention of being bad she shook her head. "Nope. Jathper's busy tho I'm here to read bookth. How come you took apart the thermothingy?" Did people take apart things for fun? She'd never really thought to do that. As a toddler she remembered breaking a lot of things, and that had been fun. Perhaps it was along the same lines as that. "Nice to meet you, Thonja! I'm Yeesha!" There were some days that the alligator girl remembered her manners. "Wanna read thome bookth together?"

Sonja just blinked at the idea of hitting someone with a book, that was fun? "I don't think books'er for hitting with their too weird to hold," She demonstrated by lifting the book a bit higher but with difficulty. Almost dropping it when her glasses started to slide forwards on her nose, using the nose scrunching technique only children with glasses learn she manages to wiggle them back up her nose.

With a sudden idea Sonja started pulling down more books. "I know we can make a fort! And and then play adventurer and try and find the treasures. Ya wanna?" She started stacking books quickly, tail swaying happily behind her.

"I tooked it apart cause it look interesting and I wanted to know how worked. Haven't you done that?" She growled softly when a stack fell a bit but steadily picked it back up and restacked them.

Yeesha simply shrugged. "Gotta pick thmaller bookth then. I've theen people do it though. They got thrown out of the library…" She added the last bit as an afterthought. It would probably be in both of their interests not to get thrown out of the library. Jasper would be upset with her – well, just upset with her behaviour since he rarely got upset with her – and by the sound of it Sonja's parents wouldn't be too pleased either. Perhaps it was safest to avoid book-hitting all together.

The alligator girl's eyes lit up at the mention of a fort, nodding eagerly at the idea. "We'll be thuper cool adventurerth!" She grinned toothily and began to pull more books off the shelf to add to the growing collection on the floor. Sonja had the right idea. If you can't read them or beat people with them then you can use them to make a fort! That was wasn't genius than Yeesha didn't know what was.

"Never. I only break thingth," she replied honestly as she worked on her side of the fort. "Only when they're not important though." And especially when they were not important and not hers. "What do you do once you take them apart?"

Nodding her head in agreement over choosing smaller books to hit with Sonja continued to build not realizing she did so on borrowed time, or at least until her mom or the librarian found out. Then again they weren't in the most popular area of the children's section so maybe they could get some fun in while they could. "Hitting kids doesn't sound like much fun though cause they might hit back..."

Managing to erect one wall with Yeesha's help, Sonja started on the next where she wanted to put a door. "I like tah see what they do, how they work. What else would I do with them? Mom tells me if I take them a part I should at least put them back but I try and try! Sometimes I do and some I's don't. Then she sighs and pats me on my head and tries to help me put them back together."

Stacking a violently pink book with distaste on the very bottom of one pile, she look at another with interest, it had a picture of some big machines, shrugging she set it aside for later inquiry(darn you baby Einstein for the big words she really has no clue about. j/k). "What do ya like to do?"

“Yeah, that’th true,” Yeesha admitted, reminded of something she often forgot. Hitting was second only to hair pulling when it came to things that she did when she was angry. Sometimes she bit, but those times were rarer since she had learned that biting left marks. If you hit or pulled hair and nobody caught you then you were home free. Still, she sometimes didn’t remember that other children could hit her back. That was why she hated Indigo so much. The girl had actually had the nerve to hit her back when she started it. “You would jutht have to hit them firtht and hardetht.”

The alligator girl listened to Sonja curiously, stacking up the wall opposite to the one her new friend was working on. So the point was to see how they work and then to put them back together? “How can you thee how they work when there’th jutht the inthides lying around on the floor?” She knew if she did that she wouldn’t have even known what she was looking at, much less how to put it back together once she was finished with it. That was why breaking was better. You didn’t have to put it back together.

“Thwiming of courth!” She grinned toothily. “I’m a really good thwimer. My friend Levi – well, he’th not really my friend but he’th not my enemy so I dunno what to call him – knowth how to thurf. One day he’ll teach me.” He hadn’t agreed to that yet, but Yeesha knew he would. “Have you ever been thurfing?”
