Dull gray eyes looked behind him at the entrance to the cave. It had been his new home since Chandana had found him. Let me tell you, it was much more comfortable than the little bush situated just near the borders of the lands. Arun had more room to run around and play, even if he had yet to see any other cubs his age or around that. The little juvenille knew a time for training was coming up, and he wanted to make his sister proud of him. He wanted to make his parents pround.
He bounced further away from the den, making sure to keep it in sight slightly in case of some sort of attack again. Chandana was off hunting, and Arun didn't want to lose his sister again. If someone was to come by, he'd hurry his little legs to the den and pray his big sister would be there soon.
But as of now, there was no threat. Arun was welcomed to be his old self for the time being.

As far as he was concerned, things were beginning to settle nicely. While not all of the huntresses had returned, he was convinced that they still had some of the best. While not all of the warriors had returned, he believed that those who had could do well to protect their pride. He had full faith that Fortune would indeed smile upon them again, that faith renewed with the success of every hunt and the birth of every new cub.
There were several beautiful young ones now that he'd seen little of himself, but his sister had come back with stories. It was good that she had returned as well... There was something about having family around that made things seem more like home.
With that thought in mind he lifted himself up from the sunny rock he'd been perched on, hopping down before stretching. It seemed like a fine time to wander to one of the water holes... And then, maybe, check the borders from there.

Arun was well...being a cub. He bounced and played, one eye flickering occasionally towards the den that now lingered in the distance. He didn't even notice the shadow that he seemed to be gaining on until- Crash! right into a bulky form.
Gray eyes widened as he stared up into the much larger male's eyes, backing up with his tail tucked like a little puppy would had just piddled on the floor. "I'm sorry!" He bursted out, ready to dash back to the den if needed. Something told him however that would probably be futile, as a larger male could probably outrun his kiddish paws anyday. "I'm so sorry!" He said again.

Perhaps it was that he was getting older and not as on top of things as he should have been, but by the time he noticed the young one racing towards him it was too late to stop him from crashing. He glanced down, eyes wide as he looked at the other and then... He laughed. Tossing his head back, his dark mane shook as he reached down to nudge the juvenile. "Careful there, kijana."

"I'm so s..." Wait...did this adult just say Kijani? He had heard the term before, when he was younger. It was the term of the youth of the pride. That meant this wasn't any stranger to the lands. He was one who knew the lands!
Though, Arun felt stupid for asking the question that came next. "Who are you...?" His gray eyes looked away, as if he were going to get reprimanded. Being a younger age, Arun's memory was bound to be faulty; only two scenes he remembered very clearly. The eyes of the murderers, and the reunion of his sister and him.

Pale blue eyes sparkled with amusement as he sat back on his haunches, sitting comfortably. "Who am I? It isn't often that I get asked such a question... Hm. Let's see... I will tell you my name if you will kindly tell me yours, kijana. All warriors have names to go along with their titles."

His ears flickered. "My name is Arun," he paused, his gray eyes gazing at the older male. "My parents took me with them when we fled from the rogues, but they were killed. I've been living just on the borders...My sister found me though." He smiled. "You might know her? She's Chandana...Almost the same color pelt as me with white markings, and green eyes."

"Mm, yes. I know your sister." He nodded slowly, smiling. "I was not there to greet her when she returned, but it seems as if I can make up for that by welcoming you back, at least." He remained relaxed, blue eyes shimmering as he watched the youngster.
"It's a good thing that she found you. We need all of the strong paws that we can get if we are going to be what we once were... And we will be. I swear to it." That soft look was replaced by a determined gaze. "Has your sister told you anything of the kings of this pride? The Mfalme?"

“I can tell her you said welcome if you want?” Arun’s tail occasionally flickered back and forth.
The word he spoke was familiar, it caused his ears to twitched slightly. “My parents told me about the Mfalme. They are the ones that rule the pride.” The juvenile said no more on that subject, but rather went to what Imara had begun to say before the king talk. “I want to help. My sister says I need to start my training. I am ready to start my training!”

"You may. Tell her that Imara'Shujaa says welcome home and that she is very lucky to have family returned to her... My own sister just recently returned." He glanced back over his shoulder for a moment before looking back to the youngster. "If you're ready to start your training I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. Tomorrow after you wake come to the meeting place. I'll see to it that Dohani is there waiting for you. He's been in charge of training many of our youth."

"Imara...Shujaa." Arun repeated the name so that it would be there again when he returned home. He couldn't help but smile when he said she was lucky to have family returned. In all the world, Arun thought he was the luckiest. His life was finally starting to return back to normal (as much as normal could get in these times). His smile continued as the King said his own sister had returned. The luck of the lands was returning.
"Tomorrow morning then," the male nodded, knowing for once he shouldn't joke around for that matter. He would tell Chandana two things when he returned to the den. One, the welcome, and two, he would start his training the very next day.
"I should go tell her the news!" He said excitedly, bowing his head slightly in respect to the older male.

"That you should." He chuckled softly as he pushed himself back up onto all fours, turning to head back the way he'd come. "And I... Should go let Dohani know to expect you. Bright and early." He nodded, slowly padding back towards the heart of the pride. It was good to know that the youth were still every bit as excited about their home. It gave him hope for the future.
