It had been quite a while since he'd seen the goddess, but his offering was gone. That had to mean that Mwokoti had at least found it, right? He wasn't entirely sure that she had received his gift. It could have been blown away. Or maybe another lioness had taken it. His mother would be very upset with him if he said that he had apologized to the goddess but the goddess would say that he hadn't. He could claim it was a misunderstanding, but his mother would still be disappointed that he hadn't made sure his gift had been received.

Thus, Fadhi had started patrolling the borders, searching for the goddess. He'd tried calling her a couple of times, but had felt quite stupid doing it that he'd given up. There had been times when he considered getting lost again, but he knew that that would only inconvenience her further. Instead, he would wander a few steps past the border, stop, and then walk back into the pride. He hoped that she would find him soon. He wanted to make sure she'd gotten his crown!

Mwokoti and Mto, had they been people, would have probably cracked open a few beers and bashed the people who had bothered them that day. Why? Because the two who had been their main source of frustration were one in the same. Mto didn't want seer powers, she barely believed in them, and she certainly did not want seer powers about other peoples love lives. Could there be anything she cared less about next to zebra welfare? Probably not.

She'd tried to ignore it for so long. It had been weeks she'd had this dream. A dream of a lioness bright and dark in color at the same time, and a young male who was covered in more markings than her whole family combined. Yes they were mostly solid, but that wasn't the point. After restless night after restless night, she'd given up getting the damn things to stop plaguing her and decided to move things along quickly.

Her plan had more so been to keep looking for either of them until she'd found one or the other or the dreams had stopped. The later is what she'd counted on, but it hadn't happened. Staying awake didn't shoo them either. Damn lions and their... liking other lions.

After hours, days, weeks, she finally, finally found one.

It was out of character, it wasn't like her, but damn it she was tired, hungry and pissed. So without hesitation, as soon as she could, she shouted to Fadhi, "HEY YOU!"

Fadhi paused in his pacing, looking down at the ground in an attempt to find paw prints. So far, nothing. Mwokoti hadn't landed here in ages. He really wished that she didn't have wings like some of those other gods. The other ones that were super big and didn't have wings would be so much easier to find. But nooo, she had to fly and he couldn't very well track her in the air. That was bird work, and he didn't have any bird friends. Darn his mother for not getting him a bird friend. She should have known one would be helpful later in life.

He was just about to start walking again when a yell suddenly caught his attention. He jumped, startled, and whirled around to see a black lioness come stalking in his direction. Hey you? What kind of a greeting was that? "Um… me?" Fadhi called back, his ears perked as he watched her approach. Just who was this lioness?"
PostPosted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:15 pm

"Yes, you." With just a bit more edge, the 'you' would have sounded like one of the heroes in the movies who caught sight of their arch-nemesis in some epic plot twist doing an evil deed. It was pretty much the same scenario. This guy may or may not have been evil. Honestly, she didn't care. She only wanted to be able to sleep, hunt and eat in peace and wasn't going to be able to until this got resolved. Stupid, stupid seer powers.

"You have to go find that blue lioness. With the brown. It's..." Mto almost groaned. Was she really, seriously going to say this? "...fate."

Cringe.

Uh oh.

Fadhi had to try very hard to keep his ears perked when this strange lioness used that tone of voice with him. His mother never used it one him but he'd heard it before. And it was very, very frightening. Still, he swallowed and held his ground, watching as the lioness got closer and closer. To his surprise, she didn't attack him or bite him or tell him off. Instead, she simply said that he had to go find someone. Huh?

"The… blue and brown lioness? It's fate?" He repeated slowly, unsure about what she was talking. A blue and brown lioness… he did know one of those. She was a little more teal-y than blue but… she was close? "Do you mean Alake?" How could she know about his mate? Was she a goddess?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:23 pm

"Yes, Alake. You need to go find Alake." Mto really didn't care what her name was. It had probably been said in a number of her visions but like hell if she'd been listening. It had kind of been a matter of 'lalala I'm not listening' and hoping it would go away for a while. Even if the name was wrong, whatever decided it was fun to torture her with these would hopefully have mercy that she'd tried to repair it and make it stop.

"How do you know about Alake?" Fadhi asked, unable to help but raise his eyebrows. "And how do you know about me?" More importantly, how did she know about them being together? That was supposed to be there little private affair! Well, now that he thought about it, they had never exactly been secret about the whole thing. In fact they had been pretty darn obvious about it all. But, but that didn't mean that she should know about it!

He looked the lioness in front of his up and down, trying to figure out if he knew her. Nope, definitely not from his old pride, and not from this one either. "You're not from the Unity Walkers, right?"
PostPosted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:37 pm

"What? No." Unity walkers? Those pansies? Please. No, she hadn't been there, but she'd heard things. It was better to be a rogue than a rogue in a pride stress bonds of loyalty (aka "unity") that still shunned rogues. She got that part, the whole shunning rogues thing. By now most would consider her one. She'd been gone from the swamplands a while and, for the time being, had no intention of going back. She got in fights over food now and then, slept wherever she could (when she could) and when someone asked where she lived all she could do was nod to the direct area around them.

"I'm a seer." Or whatever. "We forsee the future, past or sometimes the present. I'm the love seer, in specific. I usually only see visions about couples like you two. You're being exceptionally annoying. You need to go reunite so I can sleep."

"Didn't think so." Check. Fadhi was glad that she had not been part of the Unity Walkers and he hadn't been able to recognize her. It would have been quite a sad day if he couldn't recognize a lioness from his old pride. But, then again, he'd been with Alake ever since their fated meeting. He hadn't been looking at any other lionesses since then. She would have bitten his head off it he even took a second glance at a lioness. Not that he would have, but the threat still stood.

His ears perked at the mention of her powers. A seer? She could see into the future or the past? And she was a love seer? Fadhi tried not to let his expression show is amusement. There was such thing as a love seer? It sounded so silly! "So… let met get this straight. You saw visions about Alake and me? And you want us to reunite?" His ears flattened a little. "I would reunite with her, but she's not here right now. She's back at our other home. It's impossible."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 07, 2008 7:48 am

Mto was gonna choke a b***h at the rate things were going. Yes, being a seer was ridiculous. Being a seer based specifically on romance was worse. She didn't want these powers, this job. She herself barely believed in them. It was impossible to call them alright fake when they had proven themselves time and again. Most likely they were some sort of curse. Someone was messing with her for some reason.

"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying." She'd done this dance before and she'd come to hate every single step of it more and more every time. "You rescued her from drowning as a cub, then your mother made you move prides and that's why you're apart now." Please just believe her so she could go to bed.

Jackass.

Fadhi blinked. So she did know about them. Really, truly knew about them. Unless she'd been spying on them when they were little! But no, that didn't make much sense at all. There was no reason why a grouchy lioness such as this one would go out of her way to spy on two cubs and then come and find him to tell him to get back together with Alake. Even if she had just seen them as cubs, it wasn't possible for her to remember such detail about them. Not to mention Fadhi didn't think she would have cared if they were separated. This lioness was definitely not like his mother.

"Okay, so you know about us and how we met and all, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm here and she's back at the Unity Walker's pride with her family! The only reason we're not together is because we're loyal to our families. I can't leave mine here and she can't leave hers there. It's as simple as though." He stared at her, daring the love guru to find some sort of flaw in his proclamation.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 07, 2008 7:57 am

Mto not only had a few flaws to highlight, she completely shred his logic all together. Almost. The whole mate thing was lost on her to begin with. Something bored lions did to pass the time or to have children for things like increasing pride numbers, gaining slaves, or again, because they were bored. The supposed unconquerable love between them was interrupted easily. The males were more stupid about it, which was pretty stupid.

"She is not, she's out looking for you, and has been for a long time." A long, long time. When was the last time she'd had a dreamless nap? Psh. "That goddess who rescued you had to go help her. Right after you."

"What?" Fadhi stared at her, and then narrowed his eyes. "So she left to go out looking for me?" But but... she hadn't wanted to leave her family! They had had that fight when he'd had to tell her he was leaving! She hadn't come along with him then! It seemed very unfair to Fadhi that she would leave to find him of her own accord when she could have just come with him in the first place. But he supposed it was done, and he would just have to deal.

"Okay, so she's been out and then the goddess rescued her. That doesn't mean anything though, since Mwokoti takes lions back to their home pride. Seeing as this-" He gestured around them, "-is my home and the Unity Walkers is hers, I don't see how her being rescued by Mwokoti helps us at all." It probably put her father away from him then she was before.

...Oh for the love of.

Mto was normally one of little emotion. Not because she strived to be cold but because it's just how she was. She herself had never really understood why, because she never knew her mother she took after. Not the real one. It didn't matter too much to her anyway. She was fine with who she was.

Right now nothing mattered other than she wanted to sleep and this stupid male was annoying her with his... being stupid. The former swamplander growled and swung her front paw around to smack him across the face. Bitchslap. Her claws hadn't been extended to there was no real damage, it had been more for face value. No pun intended.

"Who leaves their family when they're a kid? What are you, an idiot? If you're really in love--" Oh, someone kill her for spewing this bullshit. "--then you should have reunited by now because now you aren't kids. You'll get yourself lost to meet a goddess but won't step foot out of your pride to find your best friend since you were a cub?"

Owie!

Fadhi's eyes widened as he was slapped, unable to move or speak for several moments due to incredible shock. He'd never been hit before. His mother had never hit him. She had always used words, and said that words were better than hitting. For a moment it looked like Fadhi was about to cry. However he seemed to regain himself, and tried to stand a little taller. The effect was ruined by his shaking paws.

"But that was different!" He was already taking several steps backwards now, eager to get away from this crazy lioness. "I knew Mwokoti was going to bring me back! But I'll just find Mwokoti and ask her where she took Alake? Okay? Happy?" Fadhi was already fleeing by that point, eager to return to the safety of his mother. If Mwokoti had missed her offering than it was her own fault. He wasn't hanging around so that other lionesses could hit him!
