So I was talking to my friend and welcoming her to the United Soviet States of America, and the things she told me almost made me want to shoot myself.

1. People do not need guns so gun bans are 100% ok.

2. We don't need to fight back if the government becomes overly oppressive.

3. We should never question the government. EVER

4. The government should have the right to control what we can say.

She was being 100% serious. crying

I don't like being a jerk and calling one of my best friends an idiot, but seriously... I died inside from that.

(Yeah she's Russian, but I don't hold it against her. )

You should literally slap sone sense into her, then tell her that in her idea of an ideal government you could do that as much as you wanted and not suffer for it.

Then ask her if that's still okay.

Because, in a sense, that's what she supports.

That's because I don't look at her as a Russian just as I don't look at you as a Canadian. I just see people as people. She knows I know not all Russians are communists.

I know, it was said in jest. I never condone striking a woman.

You could use that defense thing out of context. Defense of the country.
