Now that he has been elected as president, what do you think about it? Are you for it, against it? Speak your mind, and lets get debating x]

Even though I was pro McCain, I am quite pleased with the decision.
I was like 51% McCain and 49% Obama.
I really didn't care.

What made you not care about it? They're two completly different people, with completly different views on what to do about the war and the economy. The effects of Obama's decisions will also be completly different from what McCain's would have been. Do you not care about your future?

Well, I didn't really care because... I don't know. I just really didn't get into the election this year, and didn't really care, just went off of some stupid stuff. I didn't vote this year because I'm not of age, so it mattered even less to me. But come next election, I will be all over that, like white on rice.

I voted for Obama, and I am thrilled with the results. While in many ways I can respect McCain, I have serious philisophical differences with the republican party, and just could not stand the idea of another 4 to 8 years of it in power. (honestly I was primarily a Clinton supporter, but she didna win the nomination you know)

-resurects- Since he's being inagurated tomorrow I think it should come back to life. x] I was rooting for obama since last December. I didn't care much about the things any of them stood for, but you could just tell who would make the better leader just by their attitudes and their campaigns. Obama had a good strong campaign, Clinton's was a little off, and I think McCain was alright at first, but once he introduced Palin it all sort of became a joke. So I think that is what his downfall was. But even the first time I saw him when he came down to where I live to talk and he was on the news, (this was back in February) and I saw how OLD he looked and how BIG HIS CHEEK WAS I just wanted NOTHING to do with him. I'm so sick of old farts. We needed someone young fresh, and having a good attitude about things and wanted to change things from how horrid they have turned out. And my mom was rooting for McCain and one of her main reasons was because he was a POW. I mean come on, that's no reason, and I found out that he was like a selfish brat and everything back in college and graduated bottom of his class, and he was allowed to leave first when he was a POW but he decided not to. I mean that's a pretty boneheaded move. Its not gonna do anything for your friends, you just wanna get out of there. x] But to sum this up, it wasn't about any of their policies or anything it was just their attitude towards things and I predicted early on obama was definately gonna win, and I was glad things went my way for once. :]

[boo's] L A Y O U T f a c t o r y-happy to see this resurected-
I didn't really like any of the candidates... I want a woman to be president, but Clinton wasn't the right woman for the job; something just feels off about Obama, I don't know what it is, but I don't get a good feeling from him, and he feels more like a celebrity than a leader; McCain I agreed with the most, but I still didn't like him.
Going off on a tangent about McCain for a moment... about him not leaving his people, that is a noble move. His life wasn't more important than those below him. Who he was in college is irrelevant to me, we weren't voting for his younger self, but who he was at the time of election.
I don't feel that Obama is ready for this role, and especially at this point in time... I am worried that the change he will make will be a drastic downturn.

Personally, I didn't think he was ready either, but as I have said, I didn't like any of the candidates. After hearing his speech today at inauguration, I am hopeful as to what he can do that will be good. I mean, he is the president for the next 4 years, so I try to think of all the positives.

I think obama is too young and naive to know what he's going to do when he has to actually try and accomplish something. I think he was just running to run, and that he actually didn't want to have the responsibility of the presidency on his shoulders. I don't believe anything will change just because we got a knew president, especially an arrogant jerk like Obama who refuses to ally himself with his islamic past for fear of persecution. If he were a muslim, I would feel better about him being president. I know of no one who is not biased against Muslims. Besides, Obama converted to christianity 20 years ago; what was he before that and why does he refuse to discuss it?
Oh, sidenote: I loved the inaugaration; we got to watch it during school smile the woman who read the poem was so bad that it was funny; her poem was so mediocre and childish that I could barely listen to it. I liked the preacher; he was nice.

He seriously needs to rethink closing Guantanamo Bay. Where is he going to put the detainees? He can't release them, they'll go back to terrorism. He can't bring them to America. What if they escaped in America? We'd be in danger. Also, I don't agree with some of the alleged "torture", but some were really not. Making the detainees listen to metal/punk for hours, isn't really torture, it's just annoying. If it was torture, I would have so many cases against my sister.

listening to metal is not torture in any way; That is one of my favorite types of music, but everyone has his own preference, which means you cannot torture anyone, just annoy them. Anyway, why is guantanamo Bay being closed? I don't see a reason.

[boo's] L A Y O U T f a c t o r yAs all of you have brought up, there are many things that Obama has not, and refuses to discuss. This secretive feeling that he is giving off is not good for America. I am sure that it will lead to more problems that we can't afford. Why doesn't he see even that simple error of his?

I have no idea what he will do as president, and I don't think I want to find out. He has not divulged many of his plans.

I didn't like McCain or Obama, I was more of a Hillary person, but none of the canidates were all that great.
I am not so 'thrilled' that Obama is in office, it seems like he is going into a kind of socialist direction, which I do not agree with at all. It seems like he never says anything. He can talk and talk and talk but its like he doesnt have a SPACIFIC opinion about anything. He is deffinately a smooth talker but I am afraid that is all he is.
