Ginjosk curled her long tail about her body, snuggling into it. The morning dew made her chilled, but she was having such a nice dream that she did not want to wake yet. She was dreaming of fresh voles and fawn on her maw and woke up licking her lips. The sun glinted through, but still she was cold. She rose and streched, pacing from the shade of the fir tree.

Hungry, she padded across the field to her cache. She dipped and began to dig, pulling out a large chunk of field mouse, chomping it down. She hungered still and cursed her lack of pack. That made hunting diffult, so she had to cache and spread her meals out.

She panted and streched and padded out through the field, sniffing. She paused, the scent of another..a female...reaching her nose. Having no pack did have its advantages. She was in a neautral area...no-one owned it. She headed for the scent of the other wolf without fear.

Ginjosk paced along, the Helix scent driving her. Maybe she could convince it to hunt with her. She was growing weary of nothing but rats and mice. She could catch the fish in the stream if she was lucky...and if she waited her turn, sometimes ravens lead her to a mutilated carcass. She flicked her tail and sniffed.

A few moments passed and she padded through the bushes to the large clearing. She paused, seeing a bloody red across from her. She flicked her ears back and waved her tail, trying to show no hostility towards this other wolf. She approached slowly, blue eyes striking the morning air like daggers of ice. She gave a short greeting howl.

Gin smiled and walked over, sitting respectivly before her and tipping her head in a bow. "Salutations." she said in a breezy voice that sounded like human chimes in the wind. That was Gin's way. Approach submissivly, have no confrontation and leave submissivly. She had nary a scar on her because she usually submit to those hostile to her. "Its a fine morning, isn't it?" She spoke with nary a blink and watched a butterfly as it landed on her snout, its feelers unfurling to her. She smiled. "You smell like iris, Mr. Butterfly." she said. She had a wandering mind...

She smiled toothily up at the butterfly. "Its too cold for you to be out." she said to it, shaking her head. It fluttered away into the bushes and was out of sight in moments.

"I'm Ginjosk." she said. "My mom says it means 'Winters Wings' in the language of the ravens." As if on cue, a rave flew overhead. "Cahhhh!" it called. It was followed by others.

"There is a carcass nearby." she said. "Will you join me for breakfast?" she asked, tilting her curious head.

The pebble and tree pattern helix was already heading from the clearing, sniffing after the bird. "Wolf with no name..." she turned to Eden. "You are...elaborate in your colouring if I may say so." she panted as she waited, then fell in to step beside her new friend.

They followed the ravens until they reached the carcass, torn in half, of one of the great grizz-mammoth cattle-pig that Ginjosk had no name for. It was a bison, but she only saw it as a creature with the face of a hog, the horns of a bull and the body of a grizzly bear with mammoth fur on it. It was being swarmed by the black birds. Instead of barkin and scaring them off, as most might, she merley sat down and waited her turn.

Gin gave a pitious stare. She cleared her throat. "Um...Eden." she said softly. "Its not our turn yet. The ravens were here before us. Its wrong to scare them away. They need it more then we do." she pawed the ground. "They have chicks and eggs and big families. We can hunt another if we need to. They always leave some for us to have.."

Gin panted and lowered her ears. "But that's mean." she said. "Its not fair to them. I was always raised taught to share and share alike." she folded her tail. "Take turns, eat only what you need and cache what you don't." she whimpered as the crows cawed agression at Eden, flaring, trying to spook her.
