It's dark here. Not...not literally, I don't think. My eyes are closed as I remember a song I'd been learning earlier, so there's no way to tell if it's actually dark outside of opening them just a little. But I won't risk that. I think the people that pass me by have been blackened somehow.

Dain stood against a wall, arms folded over his chest in his typical fashion. He hated train stations, simply because he hated the idea of public transport. It wasn't necessarily a well-founded hate, but being forced to experience another person's body odor wasn't high on his list of wants.

How he craved to be at home, pounding out these emotions into his keyboard. Practicing that new song, perhaps?

Taking a train wasn't one of the things that Dante did often. Although, that was partly a lie since he once lived in New York City and the subway system was one of the biggest transportation choices for people. Dante hated to take the train by himself though...he had a very poor sense of direction to say the least even when the map is right in front of his face.

Dante usually was driven to places in a car. Technically, he wasn't the one to drive; it was usually Victoria. But because he unknowingly slept in today, Victoria had ditched him. The only way to get to where he was suppose to be was taking a train.

So the boy stood there watching the oh so very confusing diagram listing the trains and the stops for a long while, not realizing there were a whole bunch of other people waiting behind him to get their ticket as well. While at the same time, he was trying to translate every destination with his dictionary.

Dante jumped slightly when he heard some rather angry Japanese being shouted at him. Technically, he didn't understand it completely. But the boy understood that they wanted him to hurry up already. "S-sorry!" He cried out in English as he purchased a random ticket, in panic and then scurried towards the gates, feeding the ticket in and passing through.

"D-damn..." He cursed out loud as he found himself to slump against the wall. "I wonder if I picked the right train or not..."

Th-there's darkness on the edge of this blackness. Pure...?

Not opening his eyes, Dain shuffled a little, feeling more and more uncomfortable the longer he left his eyes shut. There was something evil down here.

Opening his eyes a fraction he saw that the world outside his mind was brightly lit and not quite as horrible as he'd thought. How long did he have his eyes shut anyway...? The darkness still pressed on the edge of the train station, but it was in the back of his mind now.

Or...? Beside him?

Dain shifted his attention outward to look at the boy who had leant on the wall beside him. He wasn't japanese, but that didn't particularly make him evil; after all, Dain wasn't japanese himself. Dain studied him from the corner of his eye thoroughly. There was nothing outwardly odd about the boy, but still that chill was there; the same chill he felt in his apartment at night, when the streetlights shone in, the same chill he felt passing through the most fluorescent districts of Tokyo.

When Dante had finally caught his breath, he had looked over to the side to look at the person he was standing next to. His head tilted lightly wondering if he had fallen asleep perhaps?

Or not.

Dante quickly looked away as soon as the other shifted. He didn't want to seem rude for staring, although the boy hadn't intentionally meant to do so. The thick dictionary was hugged closer to his chest as Dante shifted about nervously.

For some reason, the boy felt strangely uncomfortable. In fact, the feeling has been around for a while lately but Dante merely shrugged it off as being homesick. But such feelings eventually fade right?

Dante swallowed thickly as he shifted some more turning his head of towards Dain smiling nervously. "H-hello..." he stuttered.

Dain narrowed his eyes and turned both his eyes on Dante. Normal, young...a little nervous, admittedly. Could it really be him giving off this aura? It seemed more like the darkness was...following him, actually. At his ankles, and clinging to his back like lint.

"You speak english," Dain noted, turning his eyes away from the boy to look at the opposite wall, just across the tracks, instead.

So whatever it is I've been feeling, whatever has been following me around...whatever it was that I saw that day...it's following this boy too. I wonder if he knows? He looks nervous enough to have seen what I saw, perhaps.

"I..er..." Dante began nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. The boy felt himself chewing on the bottom of his lip as he pressed his back further into the wall, averting his eyes away from Dain once more.

"Well, my Japanese is very poor...so..." He didn't finish the sentence. It didn't seem like he needed to. "You also speak English...where are you from?" he asked curiously. Dante knew it wasn't his business to know. In fact, it'd be awkwardly creepy if a stranger had asked him that question. But the boy would happily answer anyway, due to his nativity.

He suddenly felt himself shudder a little bit from a sudden chill. "It suddenly became chilly..." He mused out loud. It was really odd though...Dante frowned at the events.

Were these bad omens...? Dante was never the type to believe such things. He tried to suppress another shudder.

But then again, it was never to late to do so, right?

Dain closed his eyes again, shifting slightly against the wall uncomfortably. He had felt the chill, but chose to ignore it. If this boy somehow had something to do with the shadows and these chills in the same way he did, (and he spoke english) he wanted to keep him around...to save his own a**, of course.

"Austria," Dain grunted, moving again only to pull his jacket closer around himself. "I moved here from-" He stopped short, however, leaving his sentence hanging in the air. The kid didn't need to know his life story just yet.

Not yet, not ever. Don't think things like that, I can't get attached again already. Just because he's feeling these things doesn't give him any importance outside of helping me figure out what it is that's following me. ME.

Dante smiled lightly seeing that the other was willing to answer his question. He might as well attempt to have a conversation with the other. At least, it'll help put his mind off the odd feeling lingering about. Not only that, he can easily have a (hopefully) nice conversation with him since the other speaks English as well.

"I-I see...I came from America..." He light scratched his cheek. "Japan is nice although I do tend to get homesick."

"Homesick?" Dain scoffed slightly, opening one eye. "If there's anywhere I'd be happy to never go again, it's home." He pushed off the wall slightly, and, giving Dante a glance, looked down the railway. "My train should be here in a few minutes. Where are you meant to be headed?"

So I can catch up with you later? No, for me. For ME. To stop this darkness clawing at my heels.

"M-maybe we could catch up later?" He choked out, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

For me, for ME!!

Dante frowned slightly towards Dain's reaction. Perhaps that wasn't a great topic to use for a conversation. "O-oh, my destination? Well--" Just as he was about to answer, he felt his cellphone vibrate in the pocket of his pants. He quickly pulled it out and realized it was a text message.

"S-sorry," Dante apologized to Dain before skimming through the text. As soon as he was done, he flipped his cellphone closed and shoved it back into his pockets. "I have to go to Narita Airport. I have to meet someone there" The boy says, finally answering the question.

Dante smiled a little. "Y'know, you don't have to really force yourself to hang around me..." Dante says noting how Dain choke out the last sentence. It made him feel inferior. He wasn't sure which felt worse. That or the ominous chill.

The kid doesn't get it. He can't sense it on me, then...he's no help. Still, it's following him as well for a reason. It has to be.

"No, kid. You don't understand," Dain adjusted his jacket slightly and leant closer. "This isn't about YOU. I have to find out what-" He cut himself short again. Too much information! Too much! "I just have to, okay?"

If he doesn't know, though...this could be a lot harder than I thought.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 05, 2008 9:17 pm

"F-find out?" That was a rather vague reason. In fact, it seemed to have confused Dante a lot. "Okaaay then...." He replied, the tone of his voice sounded rather unsure.

Dante would have twitched in annoyance for being called a "kid" even though he is one. It would have been nicer to be called by his name, not that it's any of Dain's fault since Dante never fully introduced himself.

"Y'know, if I'd at least know what you are trying to find out. Maybe then I'll know you aren't leading me to a possible early death."

Dante is willing to help anybody of course. He was selfless for the most part. Unless his life was at stake. He definitely wouldn't give it up. To a person he knew little to nothing about. Heck, Dante doesn't even know the person's name!

"It's...difficult," Dain managed. "I don't know if I can tell you or not. I'm not sure, but...I think you're the same as me." It was still as vague as ever, but for now, until he knew for certain, it was the most he was willing to uncover to the boy.

If he knows too much he'll be a danger to me, especially if he's not on my side...

"Difficult..." Dante repeated slowly. Not being able to tell him, that sounded rather...suspicious. "By same, what do you mean?" Maybe, if he continued to push the subject, he can get more answers. Or that was what he had hoped. The vague answers he would get were quite confusing for him.

Dain sighed quietly, glancing anxiously at people that were nearby, to be sure they weren't listening. "I...i-it..." Well, it didn't matter if the kid thought he was crazy, really, so it couldn't hurt too much to hint at what he was trying to say.

"Don't you...d-don't you feel that? That chill?" He mumbled, still glancing at people nearby. Thankfully, it seemed no one was listening, despite the odd way Dain was behaving.
