mrgreen Wagon Ordering OOC Convo/Decisions mrgreen Welcome, welcome. This is the thrid *i believe* wagon ordering cermony. Soon enough the actual ceremony will begin, but I'd like to get some discussion going first. I'd like to do it the same way we did it last time... partly because it's easier for me, but MOSTLY because I really think that the caravan members should be involved in where their wagons lie in the order of procession. Quote: ::Refresher::Remember, the element of your wagon is your Fortunette's(s') element(s), unless you have none, and then it's YOURS. And of course, meij elements are different than real-world elements. Obviously there's no 'music' or 'delusion' elements in our world. But in this world, an element is simply an expression to explain how the meij contacts that person. Some people can be reached and connected to the meij through the earth, others, fire magic, others... music. Etc., etc. Thus, why it's possible for there to be such strange things. ^_^ In a wagon, if you press elements that don't interact well together, disaster happens. If there is a fire wagon directly next to a water wagon, the meij can get very turned around- and attempt to contact/communicate with a fire fortunette with water expressions, and that's dangerous to them. It may also try to 'fix' an unbalanced wagon: thus, bringing such a dark element into a previously light wagon, so as to rebalance a wagon set apart by the combination of Illusion+Delusion. Fires should not be near to Woods, or Waters, lest they consume or be consumed, for example. Others... have either been discussed before, or you can figure them out. ^_~ Also, be aware that some wagons are already unbalanced- and you must try to support them from either side with wagons that will try and aid that unbalanced family. You are highly encouraged to move everyone around- EXCEPT Val. She must be at the head of the wagontrain. Balance as necessary. ^^ :: What comes up in the discussion and needs changing:: mrgreen Name it. ::For Reference's Sake::In case anyone wanted to see what was said in a previous wagon ordering ceremony, or even if... say... a wagon was placed somewhere for a particularly important reason. ^_~ OOC disscussion on the last ordering Ic ceremony #2 First Wagon Ordering Ceremony

so front of the train gets more plot right? back of the wagon gets less plot so lets figure out who wants more plot first.
I know Kep has to do everybody else's plot right now so putting rusting canvas towards the back might be an idea. also I'm sure Zak would appreciate less "weirdness"
also can we rank people by involvement in the guild? or is that unfair and people are only uninvolved because of being plot-starved?
also I'm going to guess wood feeds on light and earth and air fire, feeds on wood, enhances light, and is quenched by water ice, and darkness, i bet are related illusion, light, and spirit, i bet are related air, delusion, illusion, and sound, might be related (as all are insubstantial)
not shure how many contrasts we know fire - water (ice) wood light- darkness air - water, earth

i dont think placement in the train has anything to do with the amount of plot you get. that's more determined by how frequently you are online or have been in this RP.
i dunno why but i think sound and darkness are good compliments and would work well near to each other. water and wood would also balance well
ice, illusion, and fire seem to me the most easy to turn wild and hard to control
earth is very solid and is a good "grounder" (sorry for the pun) for such wild elements. wood also could be a good element to to calm down more wild substantial elements, wouldn't work so well on the insubstantial. Spirit could have a calming effect as well as long as it was in moderation. light and dark are such polar elements, its much better have some distance between them and use more mild forces nearby as a balance.

If you put too much earth together it bogs down the caravan. Just saying.
Also, we need to update Rusting Canvas and Mossy Charm's elements, since Zak and Tamlin's Fortunettes need to get added in. I know right now Mossy Charm is earth and fire for Baptiste and Tamlin, respectively, but since Tamlin's an official resident of Mossy Charm now, her new Fortu's element will take over, right?
Also Jesus Christ we have a lot of earth/wood elements. D:
What are we doing with Ivy-Twined, Lor's wagon? She isn't playing anymore, so we should probably RP it being left somewhere, or that we said goodbye to her or whatever. We could assume we left the wagon with Lor and Vanna so that if Ely ever comes back she could conveniently find us again with wagon and all that. Also, I know Satyameva Jayate was added during the last wagon ordering, but I've never seen them play. I'm just saying. Maybe the player is lurking, but I'm pretty sure they didn't own a Fortunette, so maybe we should poke at the player and say hey, what do you want us to do with yer wagon? Not sure what Serous Pages was, or Noem Weatherhart's wagon. I think the Noem character was a friend of Ely's, but I also think they have a Fortunette?

@Kate: Also I seem to recall the spirit element being sort of neutral, almost like a blank (but not empty) element we could use to cancel out other things. As such I believe Ravenwood's element is actually cancelled out by the spirit.
I don't believe front of the caravan automatically is in the balance of power. I believe that's just how it worked out that time. It's been in the back before, and in the middle. Oq had some crazy way of knowing where the power was, it had to do with where different elements got put.
Also this is an OOC discussion, but try to make the balancing thing as IC as possible, not just who plays more or who wants more plot (hell we all want plot).
Good thoughts about the elements though. Wood feeding on earth, light, and air.
Right now in the back we've got an awful lot of wood elements. We should try and spread those out, but I know we have a bunch of fire elements in our caravan so that could get tricky. And of course we don't want a ton of fire together, ye gods.

It'll take us a couple days to get this straightened out.
Read back through the last wagon ordering, learned some interesting stuff. 1. Spirit + light and spirit + fire are good. 2. Spirit + darkness and spirit + illusion are bad. 3. Wagons that have fire/earth or something similarly grounding will ground themselves, and become neutral. 4. The saviour magic in Ravenwood cancels out the element as long as poor Irina is still pregnant. After the baby's born it becomes spirit. 5. Earth at the end is a no-no.

Right, erm Wind Wheels is still in use, Meryt just hasn't a clue how to get back into RP. I will poke her over here for this though.
I know my caravan is pretty balanced as a caravan but in the order a bit awkward to place.

So Ceeda and I chatted, as we don't know the elements of our kids yet ... (well she does, but not IC. lol) We'll go with the characters elements
We think Darkness and Air
Not sure about balance there but as you'll see they are an odd couple so not entirely balanced works for them.

Okay. I vote a section of MIA wagons. We leave Lore's wagon in town, and anyone else who seems to have deffinitely left us, but still leave them in the list in case they do ever come back.
Also::
Dog collar :: Earth Chopsticks :: Earth Burlap Bag :: Wood Fiddle :: Sound Quill :: Spirit Fork :: Earth Scarab :: Fire
These are OOC knowledge unless Valelldia has confided them to you.
Ki's wagon:: I am ok with placement of the wagon anywhere. Now having added another earth to it, it's pretty stable. As far as plot's go, Ki's taken care of XD.

ok, just to make sure. Mossy Charm was fire (tamlin) and earth (baptiste) but now that tamlin has a fortunette the wagon with be earth because that is it's element. it will not be added to tam's and baptiste's elements right?
hmm... we are getting a bit overloaded with earth elements. hopefully we dont need to get anywhere quickly. perhaps placing wind/air near the earth to keep us from getting bogged down would be a good idea
