Kitsuryou had taken it upon himself to venture farther than eye seeing distance of his home. There was a high possibility that he would become lost.. but he would have to deal with that problem when it popped up. For now, he was content to see the peaceful scenery of the rolling hills, sloped trees, and fine greenery. There were hints of the coming autumn, that provided a chill in the air. However, that only added to Kitsuryou's enjoyment, the setting fitting him quite nicely.

And of course, the solitude of being alone, that could only be appreciated fully when you were surrounded far too often. That was the main reason why Hyakuhei, his canine friend had not accompanied him today.

Taking a deep breath, a sigh escaped him. A satisfied sigh, Kitsuryou standing near a trove of trees that led out to a ledge behind him. If Kitsuryou had to surmise, he could say that there was a river or a stream near them, the trickling of water could be heard predominately over the other sounds of nature. "I wonder if the lands are always this enjoyable?" He tilted his head, gazing. His hooves were padded in a bedding created by the soft grass beneath him, the breeze blowing his hair into a slight ruffled look.

Puchi Puri had lived a relatively quiet and sheltered life. Guarded by her many, many uncles and her parents, she hadn't really experienced much of what the world outside her herd's territory had to offer. It should therefore have come at absolutely no surprise that as she came of age, she took the opportunity to 'escape' from this current situation and took off on what could only be described as a typically reckless adventure. This wasn't to say she wasn't aware of the dangers the slopes had to offer - it simply meant that she wasn't really paying that much attention to them...as was customary of a daydreamer.

Or an idealist.

She was many things and most of them often hidden at her extreme levels of naivity and innocence. Not necessarily a bad thing, though one might question if it was perhaps wise to leave her unintended in foreign territory given the rather extreme level of 'evil predators' that had crept into existence. Alas, for the autumny mare this wasn't one of her immediate concerns and really never had been - the spirits would keep her safe, as they had done with all her family! That was how her Grandma did it, that was how her papa did it...and it had worked out pretty well so far.

And so it was without much delay or hesitation that the mare had taken flight upon newly fledged wings, gaining altitude slowly and tentatively seeking out the thermals to keep her afloat. On the slopes this wasn't a particular difficult thing, but her inexperience with her wings did tire her easily and as a consequence she often lost her ability to 'glide' on a regular basis. This afternoon at this particular moment in time she was in this predicament, having been distracted with the scenary below her hooves she hadn't taken heed of the tiring of her wings and well...

A shriek could be heard not far above his head, almost comical in quality and certainly incoherent as the pinprick shadow slowly grew and grew into a much larger one. The rapid rate at which it expanded was startling and was in direct correlation with the audible squeal as flailing legs and wings drew ever closer to the ground. Fortunately she had inherited her grandfather's ability to 'pull up' at the last second and in a burst of feathers she thrust herself away from the ground, stumbled and crashed headlong into the rather large bushes instead.

All that remained was the feathers that had chosen to float down to 'join' her shortly afterwards. The bush of course remained perfectly still following the impact as though there were no signs of life and then without furtheradue the mare's head poked out, her expression one of wide-eyed bewilderment.

"I'm okay!" she announced to no one in particular, her appearance albeit comical with the twigs and leaves scattered across her mane. That being said this little collision hadn't been enough to distract her from the sight of the dark stallion and she offered an amused giggle. "Sorry if I nearly squished you!"

The distant shape in the sky could easily have been mistaken for a bird, or eagle, so it made sense that Kitsuryou did not bother to notice the figure. But the closer approach as indicated on the shadows beneath him seemed like a cause for worry. "Eh?" Kitsuryou saw the incoming figure, a bad feeling overcoming him. Especially when she sounded a shriek, that suspiciously sounded like she was losing control. From this angel, he could see that it was similar to himself. Another soquili, he surmised.

"Calm down. Even a flying soquili must have some sense." Kitsuryou tried to reassure himself, convinced that she would be going on her way sooner or later.

But the feeling nagged at him, Kitsuryou having a feeling that he wouldn't appreciate the consequences of ignoring it. Deciding to follow his instincts, he stepped several steps to the side, and just barely avoided the skidding soquili who could not come to a stop. Luck, timing, and perhaps her own skill, or a combination of all just barely stopped a fatal crash landing. However, she was not so fortunate to avoid the bushes. Or maybe it was fortunate, considering the vast possibilities of what she could have hit. A rock was certainly one of the worse options.

And here, Kitsuryou was still pondering whether she was alive or not. His sense told him that a soquili could not die from a mere fall. For a few moments there, all was silent, Kitsuryou almost being tricked to believe that the events of a few moments ago could have been in his imagination. But that theory was clearly dispelled when her head popped up abruptly. Kitsuryou was clearly taken aback, responding with a "..."

Her immediate words casted a different impression almost entirely. Okay, he would've had to admit, maybe the rock wouldn't have affected her after all. Maybe there was nothing in her head to be affected..?. He almost asked the thought aloud, stopping himself just in time. To insult a female would be bordering the lines of rude, and he had never been one to be rude without cause.

However, that didn't stop Kitsuryou from canting his head, an eyebrow raised at the odd personality before him. It was true that he did not meet a great number of female in this strange land, but females were not all that different, wherever you went. This one however..

"I.. ah.. I'm sure that if you're okay, that's all that matters." Kitsuryou said, his composure coming back with each word that he said. He supposed that he should've made a move towards her to help, but there was an odd sense telling him that he didn't know what could happen. Politely, he could categorize her as accidental. Any further, and Kitsuryou would have declined to answer. "Were you out on a flying lesson?" Make conversation wouldn't hurt.

She really was quite an intelligent young mare and learnt very quickly, but there were moments when she forgot what she was doing. Generally speaking she tended to forget at the most inopportune of times, drifting into daydreams that led to accidents. This afternoons little mishap was one of those moments, lost in her own imagination she had forgotten that she required some semblance of concentration to remain airbourne - the unfortunate result was that she had lost the thermals and had unceremoniously plummeted to her doom.

Well, that was definitely one way to make an introduction.

Nevertheless as he made reference to her health she offered a typically bemused smile and pushed herself to her hooves. One after the other, she clambered up and gave herself a shake to rid herself of the majority of the twigs and leaves in her hair. She would never escape the truly bedraggled appearance, there was something she liked about her messy hair but she could at the very least ensure that it fell properly around her face. Alas, the same could not be said for her wings given that she had lost quite a few and they needed more than a little touch up. It was just as well that she remained positive about nearly everything under the sun, some would have broken down when they realise just how badly they'd broken certain flight feathers.

"Ah, flying lesson?" she shook her head anf furled her wings close to her sides with a little rustle. Her ears perked and it was only then that she took a few little steps out of the bush, glancing behind her at the rather large hole she had left. Aha, she sent a silent apology to the shrub and returned her attention to the stallion - he was so dark in comparison to anything she had seen before!

"Oh, no - I can fly just fine," she reassured him despite her little session of aerial acrobatics and how poorly it backed up her claim. "I just forgot that I was flying and lost my balance - it happens sometimes, you know?" She canted her head to the side at this. Obviously he wouldn't know but she rather enjoyed conversation regardless of how mundane it was. He had started the conversation and it was only polite for her to continue it - right?

"I really didn't hurt you, did I?" she added after a few moments.

"..Yes." He nodded to her question asking for clarification. He took another glance at the skies to make sure that there was not another flying soquili who accompanied her. If there was, he silently hoped that she was not the teacher. But it appeared that no one was there, dragging his attention back to the female in front of him.

As she offered her exclaimations, it was Kitsuryou's turn to have a bemused smile. Kitsuryou just nodded in response, although a bit doubtfully, as it indeed did not backup her claims of being a flyer. But he chuckled as she continued, nodding back with ease this time. "Its fortunate that either luck is on your side, or you've had the experience of falling more than once." He was referring to how she avoided being acquainted with the dirt, face to face.

A few moments passed between the two of them, until she asked the question that should have been asked at the beginning. He almost chuckled at the question she asked, at this point in their conversation. It was certainly entertainment, his eyes sparkling with contained laughter. He answered with a light touch, to alleviate her worries. "Hurt? If you count my nerves and mental well-being, I'd have to say yes. Everything else, no."

Walking closer, now that it was safe for the time being, he offered a smile. "So. What shall I call you, Miss .. Forgetful? Or do you go by another name?" With a teasing smile, at the circumstances of their introduction. "I admit, you are truly unique. I don't meet females that measure up to you." Maybe if he had been the recipient of the fall, he would not be feeling so well-inclined. But since he wasn't, he decided to make the best of it!

"Well not everyone can be as tiny as me," Puchi announced proudly, completely missing his 'compliment' and misinterpretting it in the literal sense. A smile lined her lips and she gave a ruffle of her wings as she made herself more comfortable. "Why do you think I'm called Puchi Puri?" she added after a few moments, her head tilted to the side and she gave a giggle. Indirectly she had answered his question while posing one of her own - although it wasn't his fault he didn't know her name or understand how it had related to her height! "It means Petite Princess, my Grandma knew I was going to be tiny!"

Again, she seemed to proud.

Apparently there was little that could unsettle the mare and she took most (if not all) things in jest. Any insult could be taken as a compliment by the ever optimistic mare who now seemed to take his words into further consideration. She had been a little clumsy, she'd been warned not to daydream in flight but in her defence it wasn't fair for the elder mares of her herd to shower her with fairytales. Every now and then she couldn't resist the urge to drift into a daydream and envision herself as the princess - although sometimes the princess was little more independent and strong than the traditional damsel!

"I think it's a bit of both," she mused after a few moments, her ears swivelling to catch the sounds of the creatures in her immediate vicinity. Now that she had interrupted them and they had figured out who she was, the majority had returned to their gathering and chittering amongst themselves. "Every baby falls when young and everyone has a little luck - I would say I've been blessed with a bit of both. Then again the spirits have always been mighty nice to my family, they like to keep us safe..." she cooed fondly.

Nevertheless as he made reference to his nerves her eyes widened and she gave a gasp of horror. She gave a ruffle of her wings and with a small squeal, quickly circled him as though inspecting for 'mental' damage on his form. She hadn't really picked up on the fact that mental damage was internal but she was young yet and often reacted before her mind had completely caught up with her.

"Oh noes!" she shook her head hurridly and planted her nose against his, completely disregarding all forms of social etiquette and the entire concept of personal space. Pale eyes inspected his and she seemed to be oddly troubled by his declaration. "I've heard that's the worst kind of injury!" she backed away again and weaved from left to right a little before coming to an abrupt halt.

"Maybe if I gave you a pineapple that would make you feel better...?"

Now where she intended to get this pineapple remained a mystery, but she'd heard stories from the most nomadic members of her herd regarding this odd fruit before.

Kitsuryou's mind blanked out, until he realized that she took it in a literal sense. Well, that made for good conversation if anything. Even if he didn't understand her feelings. Being proud at being short, for one thing. But instinctively, he knew that he wasn't up to facing the answer, if he asked why.

He nodded, when she answered to her own experience. He didn't find anything to disagree with, although he wasn't sure if the spirits were to be accounted for her good fortune. Whatever it was, the little odd mare was a lucky one indeed. And who knew? Perhaps it was the spirits, Kitsuryou wasn't close-minded enough not to believe that things outside of his knowledge could happen.

However when he answered, particularly about his health, Kitsuryou wasn't expecting that sort of a reaction. Or any reaction at all, but friendly banter. Thus, the unexpected squeal made his ears ache. All of a sudden, he felt like an animal on display, as the smaller soquili prowled around him, examining him for all he was worth. "I-I'm.." not hurt, was what he intended to say, to soothe her frantic feelings.

She had been there one moment, and the next, she was all he could see. Or more accurately, her silver orbs peering into his golden ones. It took all of his composure to not utter a word that wouldn't be appropriate for either of them. His gaze widened, reeling back a few steps. He settled for a mental string of curse words, until she pulled away.

He relaxed, his posture softening as she pulled away. The proximity hadn't jarred him, as much as the thought process of the unique female. This was a first for him, for many things that appeared. He wasn't used to this, wondering if it was possible to become exhausted in a span of a few minutes.

Eyeing her warily with one eye, trying to conceive what Puchi would do next. A feeling of alarm ran through him, wondering what Puchi Puri had in mind for him as she stopped abruptly. The question would wipe out his mental process, putting him in a slight shock. He ended up blinking several times, drawing upon the question mentally, '...Pineapple?'

"What is a pineapple?" The poor male was reduced to asking, not knowing where to start. Scratch the pineapple, this entity of this mare was a mystery. As much as he tried to follow her train of thought, it was .. well.. difficult. She jumped from one topic to another, with no smooth transition. "Puchi.. where do you come up with all of this?" An abrupt question, but he had to know. Was it her personality from the start, or had it been weaved into her from her family? Friend?

Puchi Puri was a force of nature and not one to be reckoned with! She could talk herself out of any crisis, flee from any scene and cure any sadness. Well, this was what she often declared even if she couldn't do any of these particularly well. At most she was so incredibly overwhelming that she often caused the individual before her to stumble into a stupor. They would be utterly baffled by her behaviour, her eccentricity and her bizarre train of thought. That wasn't to say that no one understood her given that the majority of her family could keep up with her exhausting behaviour and her flighty thought processes - in fact, certain herd members were almost identical in nature and had played a key role in her life which probably explained why she came off as a bit bonkers. That being said she wasn't terribly affected by such things, in fact she didn't really understand the criticism of others when it came to what you thought and did.

Therefore it should have come at no surprise that his question completely baffled her and she stared at him for a few moments as she considered it. What did he mean by it? She'd never been asked such a question before and it didn't really make a great deal of sense to her. As she continued to dwell on this her brow furrowed slightly in concentration and she mewed quietly. Snorting the forelock away from her eyes she at last lifted her gaze again and popped her lips - she had finally come to the conclusion that he was asking her who had taught her what she knew... that was the most sensible one, right?

She gave a sage nod to these thoughts.

"Well, my family tell me these things. They show me all these special miracles, all the magic and they tell me stories of their adventures. They lead very busy lives, they have amazing tales and they've seen so much!" She chirped. This probably wasn't the answer he was seeking but there was only so much the tiny mare could comprehend.

...But when it came to the pineapples.

"Oooh but I don't know what a pineapple is either, my Uncle just said it tasted really nice," she pointed out merrily.
