This is an open roleplay for Tamiko_kitten's Alexiel, Teh_Sil's Imriel, and Lady Evelyn Nyht's Tsis'Newadi.
Others are invited to join, but please it is essential to back-read any roleplay in thread to get a general idea of the storyline.

Many, many moons ago, our world had been devoid of plague and disease. The Lakota lived long lives filled with song and dance to their One God. It was peaceful time--perfect for all but the wily coyote. Naturally the trickster of the Gods would grow bored with such tranquility. He had tormented the women of the tribes, watched people from the skies for his own joy, and stolen food during harvest. Why not cause mayhem for his own pleasure?
He sought out the great sea monster, born from Inyan, the primal being, sourceless and source of all. "Iya! Iya! The Lakota are laughing at your feeble winds and petty rains! They do not think you would dare enter their domain and ruin the peace they have gained." He said this to anger the Evil God and was successful.
Iya traveled in a great storm, great winds circled the lands of the Lakota and plague soon followed in his wake. The elders died of pox and ailments of the spirit, children were born still, and the people cried out to their One God for aid. "We are dying! We are dying, Great One! Please, save us from the diseases."
He heard their cries and seeked Keya the Turtle for he had always been a being of protection and healing. He spoke of the troubles his people were facing, but as we know, turtles are slow thinkers and he requested a few days to think of a matter that would cure the Lakota.
Naturally, any solution Keya came up with would not return the people to their once peaceful lives. Disease once planted was hard to remove from the land. He journeyed to the Sky Road and asked Hihankara for guidance. She offered her own Wamaka Nagi a yellow as pure as the corn that grew with a long gleaming golden horn. "My Golden Unicorn will heal the One God's people once more. But be warned that if most should be pushed from my path than are allowed to pass, I shall take him back to the sky with me."
Keya took the rope from Hihankara and lead the Golden Unicorn back to the One God. He told of the warning the crone Goddess had given and handed the lead over, who presented it to their medicine man. Health returned to the people once more and their lives were long, but filled with evil for the stain of Iya was still on the youth.
A great war broke out within the tribes over the golden steed and many lives were lost. Hihankara was grieved to see such bloodshed over such petty squabbles, most were sent back to wander the lands as ghosts. True to her threat, she took back the Golden Unicorn and plague and disease returned. But not before the horse had taught the medicine men different healing remedies--many of which are still used this day.
And so the Golden Unicorn was lost to us, but he wanders freely in the lands, coming to the aid of people at their most dire time or to bear them up to the Sky Road for judgment.

 The russet filly finished her tale, glancing between the two boys for their final reaction. Of course they needed to hear the story before they could go off looking for the Golden Unicorn! She was just giddy at the idea of an adventure, a real one! What if they found the Unicorn and brought back peace to the lands again! They would be heroes! Their names would go down in history!
But first, they needed to plan where to look first. Would they need supplies? Should they tell their family where they're going? Nah! This was important and probably wouldn't take them more than a day to find the Golden Unicorn. "So what do ye think?"

 The pale gray colt listened in excited silence as Tsis told the story to them, thoughts racing through his mind as the images found hold in his imagination. What a cool legend! What a cool unicorn! He had only ever met one unicorn, but he didn't think that she had any powers like that! And if they ever saw the golden unicorn, well that would just be the best thing ever now wouldn't it?
He nodded enthusiastically in agreement. "Yeah, that's cool, so cool! I wonder what the unicorn looks like, or where he travels." He pondered this for a moment. What a great adventure that would be, going off to find the Golden Unicorn. His mama wouldn't mind, right? After all unicorns were good soquili, not like the bad kalonas she had always said to stay away from. If they could find the Golden Unicorn, well, then the possibilities would just be endless now wouldn't they?

Imriel had listened to the tail with his brown eyes wide, clearly entranced. To him it seemed entirely plausible. A golden unicorn, magic, healing powers... The world needed all that back! The three of them could find him and have adventures with the unicorn and save people and be heroes! To a little colt, this all appealed very much.
"I want to go now! It sounds so good." Listening to his two friends, Imriel grinned and nodded.
"Where should we go first? I think we would find a unicorn in the forests somewhere, but the forests can be big and kinda scary."

She started pacing in front of the two colts in thought over their questions. It'd make sense to think up possible characteristics of the Golden Unicorn to ask anyone they came across. And the forest did sound like the ideal place to start their search since it was the largest territory. Too many thoughts at once, her eyes went crossed momentarily, giving a very comical appearance.
"Well, Ah think t'e Unicorn would 'ave one of 'em golden 'orns, ye know? It would make sense, right? So we just look for anyone who 'as a golden 'orn." 'Adi finally stood still, looking in the different directions they had a choice to search. "Well, there's no sense in splittin' up. So Ah say we stick tegether. But which way should we go?"

Alexiel nodded at the idea of the horn. Yes, he had met a unicorn before, and she had had a horn out of her head. It was a fairly noticable object too, so a unicorn with a gold horn couldn't be that hard to find, could it? But, then again, the unicorn had been missing for a very long time, and no one had found it. But maybe no one else had looked hard enough. Plus, there was three of them, and only one unicorn. Really, the odds were greatly in their favour.
"I think sticking together is a good idea, after all, three brains are better than one." Alex said with the simple wisdom of a colt. "And...I don't know where should we go? We would probably find a unicorn where things unicorns like are. But, I don't really know what unicorns like. Maybe we could ask someone who knows something about unicorns, or a unicorn themselves!"

What the other two had said made perfect sense to Imriel. If only he knew where a unicorn could be found! But he had no idea, sadly, and was left wrinkling up his forehead in comical concentration as he tried to remember if he had ever seen a unicorn before. He seemed to have, but where?
"Well, unicorns are real girly, right? So what do girls like?" The orange colt looked pointedly at their female companion before pressing forward in his flawed logic.
"Some place with flowers and trees an' stuff. Girly things. You know where we can find girly stuff, right Tsis?"

She stomped a silver hoof in anger at Imriel giving a very loud snort at the very idea that she was a girl and should know this stuff. "'ow should Ah know? Ah'm no pixie 'ere. And 'em flower folks in mah herd like flowers and pretty stuff too and they're boys." She stuck her tongue out at him.
"Ah agree with Alex. We should ask someone about unicorns." She spun around in a circle, randomly picking which direction they should go and stopped, her nose pointing to the east. "That way!"
