I heard the FMA manga had an alternate ending, is that true?
Yes, it is true (I saw it in a VIZ trailer). Well you would think it would have to have an alternate ending because were the tv series left off the movie began. I think that is what they meant....not sure.

Yes, the manga does have an alternate ending. Halfway through the anime....i'd say after Hughes died....the creators of the anime began making up their own storyline.
While the anime goes in one direction, the manga does in a different one. The manga introduces other characters that came from a land across a desert, and they show other things. I'm not sure....but i think that the manga is still going on for fma in japan even though the series is finished.
Also, i heard that the anime was progressing too fast....faster than the manga itself. So the creators had no choice but to start makin up their own storyline. In my opinion, i think they did a pretty good job making it up. Everything was so well connected.
