This isn't actually about me, but about my friend. She has serious depression issues and is seeing a psychaiatrist, but just yesterday after trick-or-treating was over I found out she was still cutting herself. Her left arm was covered in crosshatched scars and what looked like a big burn mark. I've talked to her about it and she said she'd quit (this isn't the first time I've caught her), but I guess that was a lie. I don't know what to do. Know matter what I say, she doesn't listen. She seems to think no one cares and that cutting is the only way out.

I think in this kind of situation the only thing you can really do is make sure she is getting help and show her how much you care and how she is important to you and other people that are friends with her. Also, as long as you suspect her of cutting you should inspect her wrists and ankles every time you see her and tell her how it makes you really upset every time you catch her. Hopefully doing those little things will work they way they did with one of my friends wink
