How many people here are drum majors in your school? I'm one and you know you need a salute for the contest...well does anyone have one? What's it like? Ours...yeah we ain't got one yet...oh yeah it's so not cool.
Does anyone have any suggestions for one?

I do a salute that looks like I'm pulling out a sword cuz our we're the knights.
I think it's cool. It's been a school salute for a few years.
I love to make up salutes. I do it everytime I'm near a mirror... sweatdrop

since we have 2 male and 2 female drum majors, part of their salute is the girls get down on one knee, and the boys "help" them stand. tis very gentleman like and cute. whee

Our DMs salute is with a mace sence were all traditional, its 90 degree vertical toss, 90 degree verical toss, spin mace fast, spine mace fast while turining in circle with mace going behind back, i need a video of it.

That all sounds VERY confusing. We were recently sorting out our storage and found the mace that they used in the "old school" days. Our drum major used it in a parade just for fun once....he looked retarded because he didn't know what he was doing. It was funny though. When we go to captian retreat, the drum majors slide their fingers along the brim of their hat while moving their right foot behind the left. (the band has the hats that remind me of austrailia. you know, with one side of the brim buttoned up against the head, and lots of feathers.

Our DMs, all three of them are girls, but they satrt with a saulte, then then they look like they are grabbing into a bag with their right hand, then tossings the "confetti" to the floor, and the two on the outside turn bacwards, and they walk to thier positions from there, the two on the outside, marching backwards. Its pretty cool when you see it.

Our Field Commander Salute is just pretty much
Hand starts at side, goes to and angel in front of her, goes to a balled fist at chest and then gives off a military salute to finish.

Ours is pracically a military salute. It's rather boring, but our drum majors are rather synchronized, so it kind of looks cool.

I don't know what the heck Jason does, but swear he has to be doing jutsu! He does this weird hand thing! confused
The guard salute kicks but though, the three captains take a step forward, bring their body forward as if going under a low bar, stick there hands in front of them like claws and do a breath flex, stick there hands strait in the air(still with claw hands) and, while slowly bringing their arms down, go into the splits while hissing. It's so cool! whee

our 2 drum majors, drum captain, and gurad captains do a different 8 count salute at each comp. it's fun watching leadership from different groups make one up right b4 awards. anyways, ours r pretty much standard though.
our seniors, though, get to perform a "senior salue" at our last football game. it's pretty long and includes dance moves, song parodies, inside jokes, then a closing traditional salute (of like 8-16counts). afterwards they have "senior push-ups" where seniors do a drill down led by the BD, and they get push ups for messing up and things that they'ver done over their 4 years (it's all in good fun though)
