Shah moved as fast as he could without awaking the tiny little girl in his arms. He did everything he could to avoid making any loud noise until he reached the lobby. He pushed the door open with his foot and walked in quickly, the door made a loud clang as it hit the wall opposite it. Shah didn't care, he was here and as long as the little girl didn't start crying again he didn't care what she did. She flinched in his arms, her eyes snapping open wide as she stared around in alarm. Before she could do anything she was being held up in the face of a young girl.
Shah moved to the front desk where Layla sat, chewing her gum and reading her magazine. He held up the little girl at arms length and shoved her into Layla's face. "You guys made a BIG mistake." Shah said with a frown.

Layla looked up with a smile. "Oh, no we didn't. We felt that you would be perfectly qualified for the job, and with that baby, you can most certainly learn more about yourself and others by having a child." she said. She set down her magazine and looked at the baby. "Aha! She's gorgeous! Quite beautiful if I do say so myself." she said smiling, crinkling up her nose and pushing her glasses back up on her face.

The little girl shivered gently in Shah's arms before she reached out her tiny pale hands and attempted to grab Layla. Shah watched her as her tiny fist opened and closed as if she wanted Layla to hold her. "See?" Shah said, pushing her closer to Layla so the girl was able to grab a fist full of hair and held tightly. "I don't know what s**t you guys are smoking but she obviously does not want to be with me." Shah said, he didn't want this kid. He couldn't raise a kid if his life depended on it.
Shah shook the girl gently to force her to release Layla, which she did. The girl wiggled in disagreement once he was done. Shah placed her on the table top and placed his hands down flat on the table as well. He leaned forward gently, pointing at Layla with an expression of pure anger. "I don't know what the hell you guys are playing at but you better stop." Shah warned. "I'm not raising this kid, I can't. If you know what's good for her you better find someone else to do the job." Shah glanced down at the little girl who had begun to crawl away as he spoke. She had managed to make it to the edge of the desk and began to topple over to the floor.
Shah was quick, he moved around the table and caught her seconds before she hit the floor. "s**t!!" he growled as he held the little girl in his arms as she stared up at him shyly. He stared down at her, frowning. After a few seconds a smile began to spread across her face as she wiggled and grabbed a fist full of his hair and tugged. Shah's expression changed to one of annoyance and paranoia. The little girl released a childish laugh as Shah placed her back on the table and pushed her towards Layla, despite how she held to his hair.

As the girl pulled Layla's hair, she squealed. "Ow! Ow ow ow! Ow!" She couldn't help but scream, however, for the little bow girl was pulling out all of her hair.
As she finally let go, Layla couldn't really find anything else to say to this man. He was mean, ruthless. He didn't care about anyone but himself. That was evident. Why did Uncle Thad ever choose a man like this for a parent, she would never guess. That was until she saw how he caught her when she fell.
Layla was very scared at the time when she noticed that this girl was going to fall. But when she was caught by Shah, she knew instantly that Shah did care. He did have feelings for this girl whether he'd admit it or not.
"I do think you're ready for parenthood. You seem to have such a hard outer shell, but when you look deep, deep down, you are a big softie. You just hate to admit it because you're such a man." she said, smiling, looking at the little girl on the table.

Shah stared at the girl, eyes wide at what she had just said. What had she just said? Was she serious? Were those her exact words? Shah wasn't hallucinating that she had the balls to say that to him? He started to laugh. Low at first but it gradually grew louder until it filled the entire room, bouncing off the walls and giving him the appearence of a mad man.
He was quick to stop it though. It lasted for a few seconds and came to a sudden stop, he grabbed Layla by the collar and pulled her close. "A softie? A big softie???!? You want to see how much of a softie I can be?!?!?" He growled at her. She didn't even know him for a day, how could she think that!! Shah would set her straight, he'd make sure she thought over her words before she opened that hole in her face. Teach her a lesson she'd be sure never to forget.
But he didn't. this girl hadn't meant anything by it. It was obviouse that she was just trying to prove a point. A point that should just eb acknowledged and not pointed out. Sheh held her there, leaning over the desk and holding her close by her collar. He was itching to knock her a good one but he wouldn't. Alice tugged at his hair more and more, giggling and laughing until Shah grabbed her little hand and forced her to let go. "Stop it." He told her sternly, not taking his eyes off Layla as he did so. Alice stopped immediately though her laughs continued. She rolled onto her back on the table and stayed there.
"I want to talk to Thorn." Shah said as he released Layla and moved back to the otherside of the desk. Why was he talking to her when he knew she wasn't the one who gave him the child? He knew it was Thorn. Thorn was the one who sent the letter and the one who he had come to speak to yesterday. He shouldn't take his anger out on this girl despite how he'd be more then glad to. She was just a stupid teenager that didn't know when to shut her mouth. Shah had half a mind to get a nice wade of bubble gum and shove it down her throat seeing how she liked chewing it so much. It would be a win, win situation. She had her gum and Shah would have his silence.
How much did gum cost?

Layla became rather scared for her life once Shah grabbed her. But she's been in worse situations than that in her life before. She would deal with him later. But as for right now, when he finally get her go and she had time to compose herself once again, she said, "Well, as of now, Professor Thorn can not talk. He is rather busy today. There is not much else you can do to stop that either. My uncle, he is a very busy man, always giving, never receiving. He doesn't deserve to be yelled at, and neither do I. So, with all that said, I suggest you leave right this instant. Take your new daughter, love and care for her, and get ou-"
At that very moment, she was interrupted by her uncles voice and a door slamming behind her. "What is going on out here!? There is way to much racket going about! I can not concentrate, think, or otherwise work with so much noise! Please, quiet down out here. Layla, if you are experiencing any of your little attitudes with our guests, you must stop, or I'll put you on pet duty and take your sister off it! Now, please, get back to work. I'll handle this, and then get back to my own. Hello again Shah. I would like to have a word with you. Is there any way you could possibly quiet down your tone of voice though. Please, it's rather disruptive. I know you must have some questions, that would be why your here. So, lets get on with it. What do you have to say?" Thorn said as he went to his special chair in the middle of the room. He sat there, decked out in his lab coat and glasses, book in hand. He was ready to take on any questions this new person might have. He wasn't scared easily, that's for sure.

Shah was about to give Layla an ear full but, thankfully, Thorn came just in time. He stormed into the lobby as if he owned the place, which he did. He was quick, speaking to the two of them sternly before moving off to his chair in the middle of the room. Shah was glad to see something actually happening. He wasn't sure how much longer he'd be able to talk to Layla without getting too angry. Shah glanced to Layla briefly before picking up the little girl and following Thorn to the center of them room.
He didn't sit down, he simply approached him and placed the little girl in his lap. "Take it. I don't want it." Shah said, tired of the days bull s**t. "You say you have a reason, well I'd like to hear that ******** reason." He said, practically glaring at thorn. Shah didn't bother to sit down, he refused to sit down. "And don't give me that 'softie' s**t. If you do, I'll show you the type of 'softie'" I can be."

Professor Thorn took the baby in his arms. "Isn't she one of the cutest babies you've ever seen. You'll be such a good father to her." he said in a very sweet tone. He smiled at Shah. "You'll be a great father to her. You just have to allow yourself to be. You can do it. I chose you for two reasons. One, you will learn responsibility for actions you choose to do. And two, you will have a new love for life and for others lives. You seem to not have that as much now as you will when you begin to love this child as your own."
He smiled and handed the baby up in Shah's general direction. He just left her there in his arms, she giggled and smiled and reached out for him as if she wanted to be held by him and him alone.

He said every word with such confidence. As if he knew Shah could do no wrong to this child. How could he be so certain? He hadn't known him for more then a week considering the time he received the letter. Shah stared at the little girl that was being held up to him. She reached for him, giggling and smiling. Thorn didn't say anymore then that, he simply held up the child to Shah and waited for him to take her.
This wasn't a good enough reason, not in the least. Not the reasons Shah was looking for. He'd have been insulted by what thorn said if he wasn't staring at the little girl who reached out for him. She wiggled and giggled, trying to grasp a part of Shah but Shah didn't move. She was so happy, so innocent. Shah tried to remember how that felt, to think nothing in the world could go wrong and simply living to live. A time where the simplest things brought happiness and evil seemed to be nonexistent. Shah stared at the little girl, what would happen if someone else took her?
Would they maintain her innocence? Would they do everything they could to keep that innocence within her? Would they protect her from the shitty world? Could Shah do that? Could he give her a life better then his own? Shah thought this over for a moment.
Shah lifted his arms and took the child, frowning as he did so. He held the little girl in his arms as she clapped her hands together and grabbed a chunk of his hair again. Shah looked up to Thorn. "I don't like you." he said flatly, glaring at him as the girl tugged and tugged at his hair.
He didn't trust anyone with this girl. He knew looks were deceiving, thorn might give her to some stupid ******** who would screw everything up. Shah didn't know anything about kids let alone raising them. He did know how to protect and Shah guessed that was most likely the most important thing about raising a kid. I mean, everything else came naturally right? Shah could worry about everything else later.
How hard could raising a kid be?
Shah felt that paranoia creeping up on him again.

Professor Thorn just smiled as the girl was taken from his arms. "You may dislike me now, but later on in life, you will thank me for giving you this little blessing of a child. Your life will become better through her. So, have fun with it. Raise her well. Give her your love and affection. Keep her close to your heart. I knew you would realize what a special task this would be to take care of a child." he said smiling. He raised from the seat he was in, and moved slowly back towards his lab. Were they done talking? It was all up to Shah now.

"How the hell do you make these kids anyway?" Shah asked. The question was eating away at the back of his head. It had been since he realized the bow around the little girls neck and made the connection between the two. This girl wasn't created through natural causes, Thorn made her. That was fine by Shah, she shouldn't be any different from any other child...right?
"Do you have one yourself?" he added. Shah had questions but he didn't see how they mattered all that much. Still, he'd ask these two. He was curious, curious on why he was doing this and how.
In all honesty, Shah though Thorn was a couple french fries short from a happy menu.

Thorn began to laugh suddenly. "Oh, that is something that is secret. But, I will tell you that it is done by using the item you gave me. But it's pretty obvious of that, since the bow you gave me is completely embedded into your daughter now." he said smiling. He wasn't about to give away his top secret agenda. That wasn't going to happen. But Shah was the first to ask this question, and he decided to give a good enough answer as he could.
"Why, yes I do actually. Guro! Come here!" he said. All of a sudden, a tall slender being appeared from a door on the other side of the room. "Yes father?" the tall one asked. He smiled too looking at this little girl sitting in the mans arms. "Oh my. Another child father? And she's beautiful. Hello. I'm Guro. I'm the creation of Professor Thorn. How are you? I love your daughter. She is most pretty. What is her name?" he asked.
((Guro is actually an adult, I'm just waiting for art to come in. xDD))

Shah didn't ask anymore questions on the creation topic. Everyone had their secrets and Shah understood that much. Still, that didn't drop the fact that Shah found slightly weirder now that his conclusion was true. He was still curious but he'd keep his curiosity to himself.
Shah was surprised to see such a tall...ugh...kid? No, this guy was an adult. Guro was his name? Shah stared at him in slight shock but it was barely noticeable. The way he said that word, daughter, it sounded weird. Being directed at him? Shah? He'd have to get used to it. That would take some time.
A name? Shah stared down at the little girl in his arms. She had released his hair and was now laying silently in his arms, appearing to be bored with the situation. her eye lids fluttered open and closed as she slowly drifted off to sleep. A name....
"Alice." Shah said simply. "Yeah. Her name is Alice." Shah stared up to Guro. Considering that Alice was created from a bow, Shah had one more question to ask. "So, what are you made from? Mustard?" Shah asked rather rudely. He based his assumption off the boys skin tone. Damn, Shah didn't like this guys height. Four inches taller? What did Thorn feed him?

Guro looked at him, his eyes rolling. "Umm...no, sorry. I was made from my fathers amulet. It was given to him by my grandmother and he used it to create me. I was his first creation. His pride and joy. And then he began creating other children for other people to gain that same joy. I'm not created from mustard." he said plainly. He was rather insulted by that comment. Mustard? Where would someone even come up with that.
He looked at the man who was before him. "Alice is a beautiful name however. I do like it." he said smiling. He was happy to have made another acquaintance. It was rare to find himself seeing any more of his fathers creations. It was just something that he didn't dabble in. He just stayed inside the home and didn't do much else.

Shah caught him rolling his eyes and found it rather amusing. His explanation made enough sense so Shah wouldn't say anything. Still, that must have been some ugly amulet. Not that Guro was an ugly guy, Shah just didn't like the color. It looked like mustard. Well, to Shah it did. But then again Shah's opinion didn't exactly count. Shah spent most of his time just picking at peoples insecurities or knocking a couple heads together. Anything he said shouldn't be taken seriously unless stated otherwise.
Was Alice a nice name? Shah glanced down at the sleeping girl in his arms. Krisha had always said she liked the name; Shah named it simply because of that. He knew Krisha would like this girl, she'd have knocked Shah a good one for him to even consider giving her back. The little girl slept, silently. She cuddled up against Shah for warmth and held a fist full of hair in her tiny hand. "Uh, yeah. Thanks." Shah said, not exactly sure what to say about the complement. He stared at the two of them, Guro and Thorn. The room had grown silent as the three of them simply stood and stared.
Shah didn't have any more questions, at least none that he felt like asking as of this moment. He was tired and some what annoyed. Today hadn't even started and he was exhausted. He looked between the two one more time before shrugging his shoulders. "Okay, if this is all done and it's been decided that I'm stuck with this kid until I ship her off to college, I think we're done." Shah said flatly and with a hint of annoyance. It was true, half of it at least. If there was nothing else to discuss then Shah would leave.
