Everyone's up north for the weekend. The popular activities are snow-mobiling, skiing, sledding, snow-shoeing and ice-fishing in the area. All of the people are staying at a resort in the hills. One night, everyone wakes up to find a blizzard going on outside. Power's out, there's food, there's heat, but they're stuck until someone can come and dig them out of the resort (for at least three days), with not much to do. What will happen? Who knows?

There's a kitchen around here somewhere.... With food prepared just for you, according to your interests.

And there are a few fireplaces, sauna rooms, a large 'olympic' sized pool, a weight room, and few jacuzzis around here somewhere (aka, if you're interested, go looking for them!).

---
Just come on in and try figuring out something to do. You start off looking out the window and seeing nothing but whiteness. If you come in later than others, just say you slept in or decided earlier not to come out of your room.

Don't forget to put your Tektek character and the profile of your character in your first post!

{Character: Koji Kantura
At 16 years old, Koji is a high school student who's getting fed up with the massive amount of homework being thrown at him in anticipation for SAT's, ACT's, and other assorted acronyms. His friends go to the mountains for a quick retreat and some snowboarding, and once Winter Break comes he decides to follow them. He should have realized blizzards were common in the mountains, and his talkative tendencies would get out of hand when cooped up with the same people....

Koji stared out of the window. Snow blanketed everything, turning all he saw into a vast, empty expanse of opalescent white. He just watched the flurry of snow flakes fall for a few minutes, happy to relax without the bother of work or expectations of tests. Sighing, Koji stood up and went to the door of his room. He took a quick look back, as he always did when he was leaving a room, and went into the main den of the cabin. Someone had lit a fire to warm up the den, but left it unattended; no one else was in the room. He made his way over to an armchair close to the fireplace, practically fell into it, and closed his eyes. He didn't get quiet often, but when it came, it was nice.

Knowing that her aunt is in town (and not in the Inn), Triska wakes up and readies for day. Looking out the window, her heart leaps up.

"It's snowing out!" she cries happily as she dances around her room. She then stops and realizes that she has chores to do.

After readying for the day, she heads out into the lobby to check the fireplace. She notices a guest relaxing in the chair but she doesn't bother him. Keeping her tail away from the fire, she pokes at the logs.

-Not enough.-

She gets up and pulls a few logs from the pile next to the fireplace, putting them on the fire. Once she's satisfied with the fire, she turns back to the male sitting there.

-He hasn't stirred.- she thinks, her ears twitching. Something comes to her mind and, quickly crossing the room without a sound, grabs a blanket for him. She then comes near him and gently lays the blanket over him.

Bio: Triska is the niece of the landlady of the Inn. She stays around the inn taking care of the guests by preparing food, cleaning up their messes, stocking firewood, rekindling the fire, cleaning sheets and (paid) laundry, and checking to make sure all the available areas are neat and safe. She is a Snow Fox Anthro and, since society shuns her, she was sent to live with her Aunt Reyen Levson (away from criticism).]

Feeling something being placed on him, Shin awakened with a start. A girl was standing in front of him, and a blanket was now on him. After a second to get rid of the grogginess, he assumed the girl had put the blanket on him. He examined her more closely. She had an interesting color of hair, a pale, bluish white, and Shin was finally startled when he saw two large, furry ears on top of her head.
"What?" Was all he said, bolting upright in his chair. "I mean...who are you?"

The girl jumped backwards, a bit defensive.

-Dangnamit! I woke him up....- she thinks before her tail is able to settle down (having pricked up in defense).

She bows to him and says, "I'm sorry to have woken you up, sir. I didn't mean to....
"My name is Triska EveLark, niece of the inn's landlady, and I am an Anthro-Human."

She then turns to leave the room, her tail flipping away from him as she walks.

"An anthro-human?" Shin said aloud. He hadn't seen one in person before, although he had heard of them on several occasions. "Do you work here?" Shin stood up, starting to follow the tailed girl.

The girl nods, pulling something out of her pocket. It turns out to be a black handkerchief. She pulls it over her ears (the kerchief having holes for her ears) and ties it at the back of her head. It keeps her hair pulled back but her ears are still able to hear, seeing that they are not impaired by the kerchief.

"Yes and yes," she says, spinning around as she finishes tying her kerchief, "Now, are you hungry? I need to start taking care of the kitchen, including making breakfast."

She squints at him and says, "Aunt Reyen did not tell me about what you like...."

"Oh, don't worry about me." Shin said, still trying to make sense of the fox-girl's appearance. "I'm used to taking care of myself, I can make something later."

Triska frowns and says, "But... I want to. I mean..."

She blushes, her tail sweeping a bit behind her, "I mean, it's my job. ...and no one else is awake anyways."

"Even if it's your job, everyone deserves breaks sometimes." Shin said, smiling. "Besides, it's not hospitality if you force it on someone, right?"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 30, 2008 9:41 pm

The girl says in a monotone voice, "I guess you're right."

She rubs her handkerchiefed head, which she lowers. There is nothing she says for a few minutes, standing across from him.

"...I need to get some work done, though we're trapped inside the Inn...."

"Hey, why are you so downcast?" Shin said. 'I'll help you get the work done, and then you can have some time off. It's not like I was going to do anything in this weather anyway.

Triska EveLark raises her head and says, "You don't have to help me..."

She then shrugs and once again starts towards the kitchen.

"I guess...she likes working alone." Shin watched the fox-girl leave, and thought for a moment. After a few moments, he also headed into the kitchen, simply for lack of anything else to do.
