Seiram rolled his shoulders and twisted his neck to loosen up before setting off. He had decided it was time to take a break from his family, he was a full-grown stallion, he needed to prove that he could make it on his own. And pretty much everyone was fine with that, except for his father's servant Khufu. He snorted at the thought of the fawning bird, he was just lucky Khufu was too loyal to Ramses to leave him.
He neared the boundary of where his family considered their "territory." He hadn't actually crossed the line in this direction and with a mixture of apprehension and excitement he crossed it, there was no turning back now.

He didn't spend much time away from his family either. Despite his mother's free spirit he rather liked hanging around the small camp that the two-leggers had made together, watching over the small herd that his family made up. It was comfortable, really, safe from everything... So why was it that his sisters were always wandering off? That his aunt and uncles never really lingered long enough to do more than check in? There had to be something about the world out there that held their attention.
Jaw set in a determined line and head held high he decided that today would be the day that he'd find out what it was... And then he heard a twig snap not far from him, that sound sending him skittering off in another direction. Maybe another day he'd find out what things were like. Today he'd just... Inspect the other side of the lake.

Seiram barely noticed that he had crunched a twig under his hoof, for his other senses were picking up on something. He thought he...yes, he could smell water. Seiram liked water a bit more than most of his kind. He had been raised around the ocean and had often went on "adventures" as a young colt to the beach. Few things felt better than wading into cool water on a warm day, and right now that sounded pretty good.
He picked up his pace from a carefree walk to a lively trot towards where he thought the water was coming from and was soon rewarded with the sight of a large pool of water. He was about to go straight into the water when he saw a bit of movement out of the corner of his eye. A soquili was moving away from him. But still it wouldn't be polite to intrude on another's territory without introducing himself. He began trotting towards the other, nickering a greeting.

He heard another noise and picked up his pace, slowing only when the noise registered with logic in his mind. A nicker. Nickers were familiar enough sounds; his family made them amongst each other in amusement and in greeting.
Eventually he came to a stop, letting his heart calm as his breathing returned to a slow, even rise and fall. He glanced back over his shoulder before turning so that he could face whoever it was coming towards him... Or be able to run again if what he'd taken to be a friendly nicker really wasn't all that friendly.

His ears pricked forward in interest as he watched the soq slowly stop and then turn towards him. As he drew closer he mentally noted the bright mane and tucked it into memory as he examined the stranger from afar. It was brown with a white chest like him but extremely different in its coloring.
He forced himself to keep a leisurely pace so that he wasn't just rushing up to someone he didn't know but when he was sure the other soq could hear him he called out. "Good day!" his voice rang out cheerily, well to his ears at least.

"He-" He shook his head for a moment to steady himself before trying again. "Hello." There. Much better. He smiled as he looked up to the other. "I haven't seen you around here before... I'd heard a noise and..." He glanced down almost sheepishly before looking up again. "I'm guessing that was you?"

Seiram was lightly puzzled by the other's sheepish looks. It wasn't that he didn't know what shy was as much as having never encountered it. His father was brash, his mother while quiet but had a very intense presence, and his brother was always in the middle of everything. He peered curiously at the other boy as he answered, trying to figure him out.
"I probably did make some noises coming though this forest, I'll have to admit I wasn't paying too much attention to where I was placing my hooves. I'm Seiram by the way, and I'm just going off adventuring which is probably why you haven't seen me before. Who are you?"

"Moto'dara... Some days my family calls me Moto and other days it's Dare. I think it depends on their mood." His nose wrinkled slightly at that as he gave his head a light toss. "Can't say I've ever been on a real adventure... Lived by the lake my whole life." He nodded. "My older brother says you should pay attention to everything because you never know when something might pop out at you."
