WELCOME TO THE PROJECT HOUSE HALLOWEEN PARTY The grounds of the Project had just been finished with a few last minute decorating details. The décor was frightening without being uninviting and all the refreshments were placed about in their appropriate places, much of the refreshments were within the maul of fake cardboard swamp monsters and other fearsome (but not too fearsome) beasts. It was a time to be festive, have fun, and make new friends. The goal of this was to touch base with the new and the old and perhaps to perhaps strengthen any old bonds that had been formed. As far as Shouko was concerned that was exactly what needed to happen.
The games that were set up were the following: bobbing for apples, pin the fangs on the vampire, and so on. A small haunted house was set up near the Gazebo, though the haunted house was more a small tent-maze with various scarier decorations set up within it. All in all it seemed as if people would have to try very hard not to enjoy themselves and even harder to be bored. There was atmospheric sounds playing in the air to enhance the mood of the party.
So, now she played the waiting game. Nothing could possibly go wrong today, the mood of the day was just right. Everything seemed to be in place, except she couldn't stop fidgeting with the hem of her 'Good Witch' costume.

"I'll pick you up around ten, okay?" asked Eshaa, putting the jeep into park. Nahuel had wanted to just take his bike, but his mother insisted that it was going to be cold and dark and Barton was just too far a ride. Reluctantly, the jaguar boy had consented to being chauffeured by his mother.
"Okay, okay," he said hastily, fidgeting with his bandana. Ranza and Orli were at the Liberty Center party already, but this one was just for Nahuel and his friends, and who wanted to hang out with a bunch of smelly cabbage kids when he had his own kind to chill with? "Can I go now?"
Eshaa gave him a kiss on the forehead, which he stubbornly wiped away, and unlocked the door. "Now you can," she said. Nahuel bolted out of the jeep. Behind him, the engine revved and it bounced away down the road leaving a trail of dust in its wake. Now free of parental restraint, the boy made his way across the lawn and around the side of the building. It looked like there wasn't anyone here yet!
Except Shouko.
He put on his best cowboy swagger and strode over to her.
"How ya' doin, little lady?" he asked. Oh. s**t. That came out more Elvis Presley than Clint Eastwood.

Shouko had moved from dress fidgeting to rearranging the cups a bit, suddenly displeased by their arrangements. She heard the jeep, however, and was happy to see that someone had finally arrived. She wasn’t nervous as much as she was just anxious to see everyone and talk to them and just have more people around.
Smoothing out her dress she got ready to greet the swaggering Nahuel with a small giggle as he greeted her. Shouko couldn’t help it! Something about the boy behaving that way just brought it out of her. "Hey! Glad you could make it!"

"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Carl Messing glanced over at Regina, grinning wide, and nodded. "Sure I'm sure. It'll be great!" He exited the black sedan that he'd bought for the sole purpose of chauffering Regina around when Monty was busy. Since meeting Regina, he'd gotten easily sucked into a routine where it was only him and Regina. Monty had gotten a contract that involved working all day and most of the night, until Carl shoved her off to bed. Regina helped when she could, but she got bored with research quickly.
When Carl found out about the invitation, he begged and pleaded with Monty to let him take Regina. After a few hours of begging and pouting, she relented, only a little guilty that she couldn't go. She didn't like dressing up. Carl, however, loved it. And after introducing Regina to Jim Henson and the Labyrinth, their costumes had been decided. Carl glanced down at himself, adjusting the leather jacket he was wearing. Carl had agreed to go as Jareth, Goblin King of the Labyrinth, and Regina came as his little Heir, the Goblin Princess.
Regina giggled at Carl's wig, and shook her head, climbing out of the car. She'd agreed to wear a dress, and it looked like something out of a horrible fairy tale. A leather 'corset', which was little more then a piece of leather that zipped up in the back, and a ratty skirt. She had a leather cloak on as well, black leather like Carl's jacket. Her hair, known to be crazy, now sported a tiara at an odd angle, and a bunch of sticks and twigs. She had dirt smeared on her face, in an attempt to look truly ghoulish. "I look okay?" Regina frowned, tugging at her ears, which blended into her crazy hair easily. Carl laughed, nodding.
"C'mon, Regina." He schooled a haughty expression over his face, and Regina mimicked him, walking into the headquarters with her Uncle Carl, like they truly were royalty.
This was going to be awesome.

The pink haired girl glanced up from Nah only to see a very regal looking pair wandering on into the area. She raised a hand and offered a friendly wave, greeting as a good hostess should, at least people were finally starting to arrive rather than not coming at all.
“This’ll be a good party, I hope.” She said mostly to Nah who was in closest hearing distance. “Going to go check on some last minute treats I have cooking up! Go say hi.” With that she wandered off without much more to say because she, herself, had much to do in order to make sure the party went smoothly.

Alice wiggled in the car as they parked in front of the Eden Project. Mum and Simon had a party of their own to go to with some of her great grand-uncle's and Simon's friends. What this meant was that she was being trusted with going to her party by herself.
"Remember to mind your manners and make sure you don't loose my mobile number." Kiri instructed her daughter, normally she hated her mobile and would have always left it off if not for work but at times like this it was useful, if anything happened Alice could get Shouko to call her.
Alice nodded vigorously then giving her mum one last hug opened the door and got out. She paused to wave to her mum one last time before running off towards the house while Simon pulled out. Alice followed the music and sound of voices around the side of the house.
She was dressed as Puck from Midsummer night's dream. Even though she wasn't intentionally mischieveious her curiousity, friendliness and energy did make her resemble him sometimes. Also it was easy to move around in which was important. It was made of brown leggings, a green and brown tunic, leather short boots and vines woven into her hair.
Turning into the area with all the other people Alice stopped to see if she recognised anyone.

For the first time in what seemed like forever Owen was going to the head quarters not for work but play. As he approached the sounds the holiday music mixed with the sounds of a few voice reached his sensitive ears and a small smile formed. It looked liked he wouldn't be the first one there which was always awkward.
Inspired by the movies his father had been watching lately as well as a general love of photography Owen has dressed up for the occasion as an old school Journalist. Or perhaps something between legitimate journalist and what passed for paparazzi back then. Either way the rabbit Eden was cloaked in a trenchcoat and had a pair of camera hanging from his neck. Both were only toys, plastic replicas of the type of camera used back in those days. Though Owen did have his normal camera stuffed into a pocket in case a good photo opportunity turned up.
To complete his fairly simple costume Owen wore a Gray wide brimmed hat with a black band around the base. Tucked inside the band on his left side were a small note pad and half a pencil. All in all Owen thought the look worked well despite his long ears spilling out from under the hat.
Once inside the backyard Owen's eyes searched instantly for a familiar or even friendly face while admiring the decorations.

Nahuel waved meekly at the girl, who looked like she might bite him, and prayed for a distraction. Not that it wasn't a cool costume, it was just that she looked downright terrifying! But he could never admit that.
Why wasn't there anyone here who he recognized?
He scanned the immediate surroundings and studied the other boy in a fedora. Rabbit ears?
"Owen!" he called, waving.

This was going to be Kyocho's second time here at the head quarters and it would be the first time he had ever brought Riddik here. What better way to introduce him to the HQ and scare the living crap out of his little polar bear... maybe it would help curve his appetite in the long run?
"Come on Riddik lets go we are going to be late!" The elf shouted back behind him as the two of them wandered down the streets of Gaia, gazing at the random Halloween decorations that filtered through the building.
"I'm coming..." The boy shouted back, he wasn't looking to forward to going to this "party", since his day wasn't going all according to plan. First Kyo refused to give him a snack this morning and now he had to give up his plans to have a nice relaxing day...
"Here we are," Kyo gazed up at the building and then looked down at his polar bear friend. "You ready?"
"No..." Riddik whispered back.
"Well deal with it," Kyo laughed and dragged the boy inside.
The first thing that Kyo noticed was the decor, rather spooky... but inviting. "This is going to be fun," Kyo then gave Riddik a small slight rather strong push inside and pointed off to the distance, "Look a snack table."
"Huh?" Riddik looked up, his eyes rather large with excitement. "YAY!" He shouted and ran off towards the refreshments.

There's a rustling of tree leaves before Garrett makes his crash landing. He doesn't crash completely, mind you, but he's certainly not gotten the hang of long distance flight and the effort it takes once the momentum's there to bring yourself down a notch and come back to the ground.
He brushes himself off and picks leaves off of his wings and sleeves of his costume, which happens to be a pretty decent cowboy getup. He hadn't discussed with his friend what he planned on being for the party, hilariously enough, and hasn't yet looked up to notice what Nah is wearing.
The boy plucks a twig from the base of his twitchy right wing and winces as it scrapes a little. Finally! He turns around and walks very warily toward other people, wishing his boots didn't make so much noise.

Evelyn was tightly clutching her mother's hand as they approached the party. The girl was dressed up in Belle's yellow ball dress. She'd wanted her mother to be coordinated with her, but there was no woman in the movie. So Niki had come up with the idea of dressing up as the fairy godmother from Cinderella and claiming to be the fairy godmother of all the Disney princesses. Which had worked for Evelyn.
So the two pretty ladies were headed towards the party. Evelyn eyed the decorations with some apprehension. "Looks scary..." She muttered, moving closer to her mother's side. And there were lots of people already moving around. Niki soon realized she was one of the few parents there. Not that that would've stopped her from coming. Halloween was the best holiday ever, well, besides Christmas. After all, a day of free candy? Who wouldn't love that?!

Teagan kept to the wall, still a bit out of Shouko's good graces. He slipped a pair of dark shades on, completing his makeshift Matrix costume. Normally he would have gone for something a little more extravagant, but since he hadn't been working much outside the project house lately it wasn't something he had the cash to burn on. For now he was planning to keep a low profile for the night and try not to annoy either of the girls. He'd helped with the decorations and setting up, but he wasn't sure yet if he actually wanted to stay.

Regina had yet to spot anyone she was even the slightest bit familiar with, and while her face was schooled into a haughty, regal expression, she was a little anxious. She waved to the woman who must've been Shouko, and another boy who waved, and then glanced up at Carl. "There's a lot of people here." She muttered, frowning and looking around. "But I don't see Naida." She'd been looking forward to seeing her fishy friendd, too. Carl smiled a little and squeezed her hand.
"Maybe she just hasn't come yet." He looked around, and spotted the snack table, grinning. "Come on, let's get something to eat, alright?" He looked down at Regina, who nodded and led the way. She spotted someone standing near a wall, and frowned curiously, sniffing towards him.
"I'll be back." She muttered to Carl, breaking away from him and walking over to Teagan, stopping a distance away and crossing her arms in front of you. "Are you hidin'?" She asked finally, scrunching her face up to regard him suspiciously. Nothing subtle about this puppy, oh no.

Alice since she had started standing she had identified two people she knew, Riddik and Evelyn. She had met them at the zoo. There was also a lot of people she didn't know but she decided it was polite and best to say hi to one of these two first.
Riddik seemed to be busy eating, he had wanted to eat last time she saw him too, maybe he liked food as much as she did. Still he was busy so she headed for Evelyn with a smile, a wave and a hug ready, besides Evelyn had been pretty quiet and a bit shy when Alice had last seen her and so thought she might like to see a friendly face.
She wanted to just run up and hug the flower girl but she didn't want to risk tripping or damaging any of the decorations which had clearly taken sometime.

To say that the boy was shy would be a mistake. He was anything but shy and his walk proved that he was anything but. The teenaged boy walked up to the Project House grounds and their little party with every intention of crashing it. The boy wasn't directly invited. The invitation came to him by serendipitous chance and after a bit of snooping around he decided to attend this 'shindig'...
His mother always claimed he was a gift from some God or another. A God had seen fit for him to be born from a leaf. No one, however, seemed to see fit to come from this place and visit him or his mother to explain things. His mother was convinced that he was some sort of Godly Gift and treated him as such. The perks weren’t bad, but her over protectiveness sucked the life right out of him.
Dressed as Zorro he made his appearance on the scene with his cape fluttering as he stood in the doorway. After a moment’s pause then made his way in. If no one recognized him he would lie his way through.
