Everyone knows who ends up together. It's Aya and Touya, Miaka and Tamahome (or Taka), Alice and Kyo, so on and so forth. Yeah, we ALL know. But what are your favorite non-canon couples and can you justify them? (Yaoi and Yuri allowed)
My favorite couple would have to be AyaxShuro.. okay I know I'm about to get hit over the head for this but hear me out.
a) Shuro's sexuality- Shuro is constantly saying "I'm not gay, I'm not gay, I'm not gay" she said it once, after the first time I think it gets suspicious. I still do this to some people I don't know if they will accept me being a lesbian.
a2) Transgender- We all know that Shuro was rasied as a boy, now I don't like this arguement but someone once said that Shuro was raised as a boy so she has some guy feelings. (I personally feel this is total bull as I know that transgender people can be heterosexual too)
b) Shuro's death- I once read a summary of the Episode of Shuro. In it a girl named Michiru (who admitted to being in love with her even after she found out Shuro was a girl) gave her life to save Shuro, the last thing she did was tell Shuro to live. Shuro died -the same way- to help Aya and I believe the last thing she did was tell Aya to live.

Hm.... Justified non-cannon couples, eh? Heh heh. Oh, I could go on for a while...
Okay, gonna start with my favorite: Tasuki/Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi.
Justification:
Okay, so Nuriko says that he loves Miaka. Still, from having watched the series about 500 times, I think it looks more like he loves her as a sister, not romantically.
As far as orientation goes, Nuriko seems to be of the opinion that gender doesn't matter at all. Thus, wether his feelings would be for a guy or a girl, I don't think it would make any difference to him at all.
Now, for Tasuki. Well, Tasuki hates girls. He says so himself many times. Add to that the fact that Yuu Watase herself once said that out of all the characters in FY, Tasuki was the most likely to be gay.
Okay, so that establishes that neither would have any problems with the fact that the other is a guy. Now, you're asking "So what makes them such a great couple?"
Tasuki and Nuriko have some chemestry going, that's hard to deny. Despite Nuriko's... er... violent tendencies towards Tasuki, they still get along quite well, and it doesn't seem like there's much that can change that.
And now, for the fangirl's argument of why they make an awsome couple: Remember before they went to the Star Gazing festival, there was that one scene where Tasuki was all tired and yawning while Nuriko was EXTREMELY cheerful? You can't tell me that doesn't look suspicious. XD As far as the festival itself goes, inviting Miaka to it seemed to have been a last minute thing, ne? Before they invited her, it seemed like it was to be just the two of them. Seems an awfull lot like a date to me. XD

Uh... how 'bout Tanpopo and Yoji from Imadoki?!
My justification:
No matter how much you guys all love Koki with Tanpopo, you just HAVE to admit that Yoji is as sweet as they come PLUS he makes the couple work.
I mean, do you seriously want Tanpopo to suffer as she gets all emotionally stressed cuz of Erika just to get with her fiance Koki?! Of course not!!! Tanpopo may be nice, but she's not one to take bullshit nicely!!! >.<

My Justification:
They look so cute together!!! whee *squeals* Plus, Mayura still likes Kyo right? And being the nice guy that Kyo is (and being eerily similar to Koki, Toya, and Tamahome) Kyo will have to 'humor' Mayura and lead her to think of them as an item?!
My other justification:
Because I said so that's what!!! xd They make a good couple and that's final!!! Anyone have any objections? *cocks gun*

How about(not main character) Tsuki and Aoi from Imadoki? I think they'd be so cute together! Plus they just seem to fit. Okay, main character: have to agree, Yoji and Tanpopo. Yoji is so sweet!

yea...im all for tsuki & flippy 3nodding at the end though i think kouki implied that they got closer (in the letter he sent tanpopo) so when i read that i was like " blaugh !!!" lol...i wanted to see them as one of those crazy couples you might do a fanfic about heart

how about Miaka and Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi!!
Justification A) It's obvious that Hotohori loves Miaka and I think that he deserves her more then Tamahome does
Justification B) During the Episode with Miaka's Reflection self, the reflection said that she loved Hotohori, and she is sitll a part of Miaka
Justification C) all the things that Tamahome does to Miaka and how much danger he gets her, Hotohori never did that
Justification D) Because I said so! ^^

Justification 1; she is usually seen with him. -- especially during the arisa incidents.
Justificaton 2; flippy knows what to say to piss her off. they say, boys tease girls they like. wink
Justification 3; koki DID say they get closer. of course, being a fangirl, i implied it as a romantic sense. whee

oh yea........miaka and amiboshi!! xd heart
yes, i love tama but amiboshi would be great with miaka too correct? i mean, he apologized and saved her life 3 times in one day...ok i guess that doesnt say much since the suzaku warriors save her sorry butt a billion times a day sweatdrop but i still think they'd be good together. after all, heh, "huiake's" (dang forgot how to spell his fake name) parents said they look perfect together and he basically proposed to her when he told her to live with him in the village (volume 10)
of course its a win win for us tama/amiboshi fans cuz no matter who miaka ends up with we get the other lol

Amboshi and Miaka.
Justification ♥) Amboshi used his chi in manga 10 to relive Miaka of her fever and saved her life.
Justification ♥) He doved into the river earlier when he posed as to try to kill Chichiri himself to try to stop seriyu from being summoned.
Justification ♥) They are around the same hieght and age.
Justification ♥) Amboshi tryed to protect Miaka when Tomo tryed to take advantage of her.
Justification ♥) Amboshi offered Miaka a chance to live with him away from fighting and to try to help her forget her pain after what Nagoke(sp) did.
