Okay, Eirwyn's been testing this since like about June, being SCAS, and I think one or more of you all are zETA testers, but now starting today it's beginning to be OPEN BETA! So, like, we can talk about it! whee xd
Discuss: zOMG, gameplay hints, general advice, when you get to start playing, etc.

I have no clue of zOMG and I'm bit hesitant even to get to know it. Briefing?

It's a big ol' game! The new shop Back Alley Bargains is part of it. You'll be able to roam it like Towns, fighting critters & building your levels like an RP. There are some fun non-combat quests to do too. You can go it alone or join teams to tackle the big bosses & such. And stuff you get from the critters you beat can be crafted into cool new items!
Go to the zOMG link in the drop-down Games menu & read about it! smile

For such a massive game i found it really easy to figure out which is unusual for me 3nodding I really got addicted! Im even looking forward to going back in the sewers for the 3rd time just to have a last look around. They really went all out with the art, the whole thing is just stunning.

I logged in one day and found that i had automatically been added to some zOMG guild without my permission. Needless to say i quit that guild as soon as i found out that i was added. I play too many rpg games and zOMG doesnt look that great to me. But i have been told i am somewhat of a harsh critic.

Goodness, sSgt_Alex! You had been selected as a tester, that is why you were in the guild. Only members of that guild could log onto the test site.

I just tried it for the first time yesterday. It's fun, but I kept running into a glitch or something where whenever I tried to leave the sewers, the game would freeze or something and I couldn't move. D:
I updated my flash player today, so hopefully that fixes it!

Something interesting a friend who was also a tester pointed out: You earn BADGES playing zOMG & never know it! Go to your profile, edit, choose Content. Put the Badges box on your Profile. Every time you earn one it will appear in that box!
Eirwyn had one for killing Peelungers, one for killing Gramsters, & one for the Goof Course & never knew til she put that box up!

I noticed I have a recipe for a Chatterbox badge, but I never noticed the other badges. Huh!
Speaking of Goof Ball...I hate it. >.< I can't aim the ball, no matter which direction I try to hit it, it goes off in some completely different direction. Argh.

Right on!
My remaining complaint now is that my browser closes the first time I make a strike after joining a crew. This makes me stuck at the "get the General" step b/c you really need a crew to even get the monster to come out, yet once I'm in a crew, the game implodes. When I log back in, I am out of the crew ~ and most likely dazed b/c the game didn't completely register that I was out. sad
I sincerely hope this is a symptom of the "memory leak" that they are repairing b/c it is really getting frustrating.
How is the game playing for you all?

Eirwyn is the only one of us playing as yet. She never plays at home now, only on the swift computers in the college library. She has 6 badges now, I think. She now has also badges for flamingos, mushrooms, and for finding the entrance gate to Gnoman's Land. She is trying to get two mushroom caps for Remo right now. It is VERY difficult--they are extremely rare drops. mad She never crews. She is used to being a loner. She sometimes tries to help those with low HP or being mobbed by gnomes, however.
Bria_Teragram has an excellent thread full of detailed information about quests, recipes & items now in the zOMG forum. She too was a tester & this is largely gleaned from her work then. It is HERE!

I noticed Bria's thread also. It is really good! And it has links to other great threads too (like about rings, etc).
Based on my experience w/ those dog-gone cannons, I believe they will only drop the desired mushroom heads when you are in a crew. (Even a 3-man crew got me one. I'm not sure about a 2-man; can't remember.) So join-up if you can!!!
Ok. Well, mule's got to go kill a general!
Have a wonderful evening.
