Umicho lays up on a tall smooth rock sunning herself as she looks out across the miles of grass and dirt. Not too far off was a well-sized lake that she would often swim in. After a while she layed her head down on her paws and closed her eyes, resting as the warmth of the mid day sun engulfed her.

 Red looked out across the barren land with a gentle smile on his face - it was a nice relief from the desert he resided in, and offered a bit more to look at. The lake he came upon made his smile widen greatly - he was thirsty from his random travels, and wanted nothing more than to feel cold water on his tongue.
After bending for a drink, he laid down, the very tips of his front paws dangling into the water, and his flaming tail wrapped around his side (though kept at a distance from the edge of the lake). It was a nice day to leave the desert for awhile and take a walk around on ground that didn't shift beneath his paws.

Umicho opens her eyes after a while, the sun starting to feel a tad too hot. With a small grunt she stands and stretches, then jumps down off the rock. She remembers a cool lake nearby and decides to go for a swim, her favorite pastime. After a minute she begins trotting until she spots the cool, still, almost glassy smooth lake water...along with a red lion. Upon moving closer, she notes him to be about her own age. "Hello."

Red glanced up at the voice, muscles stiff and ears high at her voice. "Hello," he replied, eyes steady and each movement calculated. He hadn't expected to see another lion here, and she had caught him quite off guard. Not really sure what else to do, he held his gaze on her, examining some of the details of her markings as subtly as possible.

Umicho notices how tense the other lion becomes. She must've caught him off guard. "I'm sorry. I thought you might've heard me." Sge smiles softly and sits down looking at him. "I'm Umicho."

Red shifted slightly, "I'm Red XIII... I hadn't expected to see another lion this far out, so I wasn't paying attention. Apparently I'll have to remember not to do that." He relaxed slightly, taking note that she wasn't an adult, so if she were meaning him harm, he could probably easily defend himself.

She smiles looking at him, looking at the fire on his tail. "Are you new around here Red XIII?" She blinks thinking for a moment. "I like the color of your fur, and the flame on your tail."

Red shrugged and waved his tail through the air a moment, "Not exactly. I'm from the desert a bit south of here. Not a place for any lion to wander around, but this is still a bit far out for somelion else who's not from around here. That's really a question I should be asking you." He wasn't a lion that accepted flattery, and her certainly never let his guard down when around a new lion, even one who seemed to be harmless.

"Well...to be honest. I have no home or family. I just choose to live here." She sighs and looks past him to the lake. "I was actually going for a swim until I ran into you." It was obvious in her voice and body language that she told the truth. She felt very lonely out here. "When I saw you..i thought I found somebody to hang out with."

Red eyed her a moment, searching her for any movement that suggested a lie or some way of deceiving him. When he finally decided that she was being truthful, he relaxed a bit more and his ears lowered back to normal and his shoulders dropped to their usual position. "I won't go for a swim... But i'll keep you company while you do, if you wish."

Upon hearing his comment on swimming, she thinks to herself for a moment. Her appearance lightens as her mood becomes happier again, ears normal. "What would you like to do Red XIII?" She walks past him and gets a quick drink, then turns and looks at him curiously. He seems nice enough.

Red shrugged, "I just came to relax, so what we do is wholly up to you - I had no concrete plans." He watched her carefully and a slight smile on his face - she seemed pretty energetic, and it always pleased him to see lions like that - it wasn't so often.

Umicho flexes her paws and looks at him, thinking. He doesn't know what to do...ok. "Do you like to climb or run? Or maybe you'd like to try a silly game instead. Hmmm..." Her tail swishes to and fro behind her as she goes over diffrent ideas.

He chuckled, "I live in a desert - my leisure activities involve finding a nice rock to sun on, or a nice shady tree to relax on, or something of that sort. Like I said, it's up to you. Plus, I wouldn't want to be the one to ruin your swim." He was perfectly happy doing whatever - it was cooler here, so she had no problem running with her or playing a game, but he never had a problem with relaxing in the sun.

For a long moment she thinks, putting an idea together, then smiles brightly. "How about you hang in the sun while I swim, then we could go dunning or sun bathe. How does that sound to you?" She understands him not wanting to swim because of his tail.
