My marching band story. By the way, this happened during the 1 hour rehearsal before our festival yesterday.

We were cleaning up Dirty Deeds Done Dirt cheap, and there is one part at the beginning where we do a 16 count move, 16 count park and blow, another 16 count and then 2 eight ount moves. Well, during the last 16 8 and 8 I am between a bari sax and the flute section leader on piccolo. We are supposed to go just outside of the 30 yard line in a woodwind curve inward. Our BD has us DOT( Direction of travel) it and we do fine getting there. he decides to have the freshman do that again and everyone else slide. Well, this time around she ends up on top of me. Marching on my foot. Pushing me into the bari sax and makeing all three of us almost kill ourselves. It was a clarinet sandwich with me in the middle. It hurt my foot for the rest of the day and somehow during the crash my Clarinet got jammed into my cheek. Now I have a broken reed and a cut on the inside of my cheek. she seems to have problems staying in line. I would know. In most songs I am next to her. Especially DDDDCshe runs me over. It is so annoying.

Discuss:
Being run over by neighbors
Other people getting run over
Instruments jamming into you
Being sandwiched between two people.
Injuries on festival days.

By the way, we got an excellent and 3 out of 5 captions. We are mad at the judges too because our Perc and Auxilary did perfectly fine compared to the two bands that got those captons. One band got a superior and 5 captions and they sucked!

hahaha! I remember nationals last year I kicked a judge during some heavily coreographed part of our show and he wouldn't stop yelling some certain words into his tape recorder. I also tripped one set where I take like a 5 to 5 step size backwards. I couldn't tell if it was my knee anymore after that...

I've never gotten run over completely but I've been pretty close.
As for being sandwiched, my first year of band I had to do this move where our line went left and the other went right to mesh with us before moving off in said directions away from each other. I had to mesh between an ok marcher, and a tuba player who had problems. I was always afraid I'd get mauled every time we did it.
