 Having decided to walk for a while, Mirza smiled as the sunlight warmed his golden coat. His wings were relaxed, slumping just a little as he was almost caught in a daydream. He was in such a wonderful mood! Even humming a little, the angelic lion walked casually across the seemingly empty plains.

As they ever could be, the plains were once again deceiving. Today behind a clump of grass they hid a teenage wanderer. He was currently padded with some intense curiosity at a large lizard.
It was when the lizard skittered out and Phoenix Shelley poked his head out to watch it that the plains gave up this particular secret. He looked up startled at the golden winged lion, "Lizard turned into you?" He asked, pure wonder in his voice.
The lizard had skittered off the side and up a stalk to get away from the lion.

He had caught onto a strange scent as he had drawn closer to the teenager's hiding place so when he suddenly emerged Mirza had been prepared.
"Lizard? I do believe I'm not a lizard, and neither are you child." He said with a chuckle, eyeing the maroon teen. "I am a lion, that much I do know, and my name is Mirza." He said, bowing to Pheonix Shelley. "Did I interupt your games?" He said gaily, his eyes showing how joyous he felt today.

Phoenix Shelley looked relieved at Mirza's first announcement, but crinkled his brow as he tried to understand the last question, "Interrupt? Uhm... The lizard confused me too." He tried to place the word meaning to what he was thinking, having not encountered that one before.
"But, uhm, I'm glad you're not a lizard. I--I didn't think lions could change! King Bowser says so, but everyone else says no. Mirza...." He tilted his head upwards to place lion and name together, then his eyes lit up and he shook his head, "Oh! I'm Phoenix Shelley... mm, uhm... Not King Phoenix Shelley, so you don't bow?"
He blinked, then looked behind him to see if Bowser was standing him. That awarded him a face full of grass and Phoenix Shelley stumbled out away from it.

"Just because you are not a king, doesn't mean I can't bow to you, Pheonix Shelley. It is merely a greeting. That was how I learned to greet others properly." He said with a smile and demonstrated a bow. "It is a very flattering gesture if I do say so myself." Mirza added with a wink.
"Are you ok? You seem a little skiddish this fine afternoon. Is there something that is frightening you?" A flash of concern crossed his eyes as he ruffled his wings a little.

"Really?" Phoenix's eyes lit up at Mirza's first statement, but then his brow crinkled in confusion before he got to the last question, "I am ok, nothing is frightening me right now. Should I be frightened? You bowed to me and that is flattening, really? Am I flat now?" He turned to look at his hindend to see if it had flattened, and turned around slowly as he looked at it, then looked at Mirza.
His ears perked up, "OH! You mean bowing is flattening. Yeah!" He bowed back now, but an exaggerated sort of bow where he tried to make himself as flat-to-the-ground as possible. Flattering, apparently enough, was another word not yet in his vocabulary.
"Is it really proper to flatt--bow to everyone?" He tilted his head as he thought about that. "King Bowser wouldn't like that so much..."

"I would say you shouldn't be frightened if something is not frightening you." Mirza said with a hearty chuckle, this teen was definately amusing.
"It's flattering, my dear Pheonis Shelley, not flattening." Again Mirza chuckled. "Flattering my young friend is pleasing someone with a nice movement, or gesture. Thus we bow." Again he bowed.
"Now when I saw proper, I mean polite. I find it polite to bow to those that matter to me, or new people I have met. If I know someone does not want me to bow to them, I won't." He added carefully, not wanting this King Bowser to be displeased towards the teen.

"Oh!" Phoenix Shelley completely perked up then, again bowing to Mirza with a grin, "That's not what King Bowser said, but I like your version better."
He jumped back up, "I was stalking lizards. What're you doing?" He looked curiously around Mirza, whether it was for an explanation of the other lion's appearance or if it was for lizards was anyone's guess though.

"Enjoying the fresh air of such a lovely day, my lad!" Mirza said in such a joyful tone. "I find myself doing it a lot lately. I can't seem to stay oppupied with anything more than a short while when the days continue to be so lovely..." He was rambling slightly but it was true, angels such as he loved the light...

Phoenix Shelley tilted his head at Mirza, then looked around. "What's lovely about it? Grinch always says how bad these days are! He says the birds are too loud and gossipy and the sun shines too bright and the wind picks up bothersome sounds and smells just to torment us all." Phoenix Shelly made a growlly-sort-of-look, looking more like a bad imitation of a grouchy lion than anything.
