Her pale fur shimmered in the sunlight, the soft blue hues which pattered along her spine caught the light and made her look like she was shimmering. She lived here happily, with her family, her grandmother, old as time, people said, always whispering the words of the coalitions history, always telling a story. She could never tell stories like her grand mother, even though she herself was in one.

her grandmother had told her of a great and powerful cheetah, thought to be a ghost by many, he haunted the world and protected his lovers and friends from those who would cause harm and she, wells he bore his colours for she was his great grand daughter.

It was a proud thing to be related to such a wonderful creature, though she often wondered if she would live up to the ledgend that whispered from her past.

Chasing a butterfly, a dark brown cheetah cub raced acrossed the coalition lands she was so proud of. Her family legacy was closer at heart, her father being one of the very first members of the coalition and the head guard. It was his job to protect the royals, and the whole coalition. She was so proud of her father, and of the coalition, the best day of her young life was when she received her father's mark. The only time she had ever gone without playing much was the day she got it, even now she was more careful about it even if she knew it would never go away now.

One day, she dreamed, she would be the head guard, protecting the coalition and its royal family. It would be so cool! With her father always encouraging her and her siblings she had no shortage of confidence in herself and her future. She was a cheetah, thus born to do great things.

The sharp blue butterfly had taken a path over a small hill, so she ran 'round it. Bad thing about speed and cub legs, stopping was a real trick. Nearly running into the light blue and white cheetah, she had to take a tumble to the side.

Unharmed, falling down a lot made learning how to not get hurt was second nature. Standing up and shaking of the dirt, her white markings duller now because all of it wouldn't come off by just shaking, she looked to the cheetah and smiled. "Hello! I am Noka! Who are you?" excited, she had to force herself to sit still. It wasn't polite to just try to play with someone until you at least knew who they were and told them you wanted to play. Her father had told her that, and said that was the reason the birds never played with her.

((so sorry for the long wait I have been so busy with college!))

The young king marked cheetahress smiled wistfully at the other cub, she knew so few cheetah cubs, only the ones of her family really and those consisted of her brothers and sister and uncles and aunts. She giggled as she thought about that, her uncles and aunts were younger than her. She cast away the thought as she realised she had been addressed.

Blinking away the dreamy look she smiled in a gentle manner her soft blue gaze shimmering like small watery pools made her look almost like she wasn't paying attention. in truth she was a real dreamer.

Licking her lips she searched for what she would say imagining a similarly excitable cheery greeting, looking for the story within this chance meeting where she had nearly been trampled upon by someone just her size. She collaborated the tale she could tell in her head her gaze going glassy before she realised the silence had wandered on for far too long and she needed to state her name.

In a voice that whispered like the wind she finally blinked away her story and bowed her slender slate blue head and spoke "I am Silvatica, daughter of Kito, grand daughter to Colche the story teller and keeper of histories." She smiled, yes that was a good way to start the story by introducing herself properly.

Catching her breath, the young brown cheetah waited for a response. It took her a little while before she started to tilt her head and wonder about the other cheetah. Looking around herself a moment, Noka wondered if the cheetah was blind like her older brother or seeing things she could not. Lady Aailyah was a seer, after all, a powerful gift to be certain.

Maybe she was mute? That was another idea. With the silence, she pondered on all the reasons she didn't get a reaction other than a smile out of the new cheetah. A smile was better than a growl, it would have been awful if she had upset the lighter colored cheetah.

Then the words came, such a light sweeter tone that made the darker cub a bit more aware of her more boisterous tone. There were three things learned in this moment, Silvatica's name, she was not mute or deaf, and there was a new way to greet others. Alright, so it was four, she was hardly counting in this mother. Trying to imitate the other cheetah, she said eagerly, "I am Noka," Okay, repeat, but she was trying to return the greeting, "you already knew that though." Ears lowing a moment, as quick as a blade of grass bends, it pops back up and so does she. "I am the daughter of Nadifa and Kolo the head guard protector of the royal family and coalition lands." While proud of her family, she gave the title to try and match Silvatica's manner of speaking.

((you have permission to kick my butt XD! I am so bad TWT!))

Silvatica smiled, she had never met the guards, she stayed mostly in her family group. Her grandmother was the matriarch of their family she was wise and thoughtful and beautiful and she always spoke with a story on the tip of her tongue, if only she could do that. She blinked again and smiled rather foolishly at Noka, she kept loosing her place in this story it seemed, she was allowing her mind to wander to other things. She had to stay in the moment. Okay how did the story go next?

"Do you have a big family? My family is massive..there are many of us in our quarters." She paused, was that a gloat or was that just something to fill the silence? She wasn't really sure so she ploughed onwards.

"Uhm..do you want to play?" The though fell to her lips before she could think about them and woke her from her story, it would be nice to play with someone new. That's what being a cub was about after all, that's what her grand mother always said.

Noka thought, but it wasn't on her family, it was of butterflies and playing. She didn't focus on family, even if it was the center of her world, and certainly stories didn't hold any interest in her. She loved to hear them, but telling them was her suit. She held a place in the coalition, what it was she wasn't quite sure yet. That smile she recived sent her mind in a nother direction, puzzling over it before trying to return it as she had seen it.

Big family? Well, she thought so, "I do, besides Momma and Daddy; I have three sisters and one brother! Momma and Daddy had five cubs before us, but we haven't met our big siblings. Daddy says that Garai stayed behind but the others went to explore and wonder." Her brother was supposed to be blind, but because her father showed no signs that it was a bad thing, she thought nothing about it being negative. When a trait isn't negative nor extraordinary it doesn't occur to one to mention it.

Ears up, the young cheetah perked right up, standing and dancing on her paws she excitedly proclaimed, "Yes! What to you want to play? Tag? Leap over? Wrestle? Or a new game?" Now learning a new game sounded like a lot of fun, as much as the games she already knew from her family play time.

Silvatica smiled and flickered her tail happily her soft blue eyes smiling. it seemed Noka had quite a big family too. All guards she wondered? she shook her head casting away the thought, it was time to have fun not to ask questions and put it in to her developing tale.

"A new game?" she questioned quietly "What do you have in mind?" She got to her paws smiling happily, Noka seemed to be the inventive hyper sort, maybe this new game would be something that she could take back to her own siblings!
