Half of the girls i have dated, i have met online. I did meet them before i dated them, for the most part. I also did the generic "hang out in public so nothing goes wrong" rar rar rar, since i've heard of a few bad experiences for some people. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with it. I have had one bad experience, where the girl i met was clingy as hell, and told me "she loved me" since the moment we first met, urgh. I met her whilst with my current girlfriend, so that added to the discomfort of both of us.
You're opinions? Experiences? Etc?
NB: IRL = In Real Life

I don't really see anything wrong with meeting someone via interwebz XD But then again I don't see anything wrong with slaping a kid in the mouth when they curse >.<" Both are kinda looked down upon but still razz I never met someone IRL because of searching the interwebs.

I thought you were just supposed to use a water gun on them, or was that cats? ninja It's looked down because the people judging such things are OLD. It was the same before for dating outside the 'race' crap, and dating outside the religion, and outside the family ( ninja ). Just because it is a new idea, doesn't mean it is wrong (aside from adult/child).

Well, Jennie is about 4 hours away and as soon as she can afford it, she'll be visiting. And shortly after that, I might be moving in with her.
Otherwise, I haven't met anyone irl from online.
---
Now, to be the devil's advocate and the one who'll crush hopes from now on (the reality check), I would say give up hopes of meeting your love online and seeing them irl.
Seriously, it doesn't happen to often. It's a delicate situation, right up to the very day, I guarantee that.

Hmm well i've done it quite a few times, and most of them have been reasonably successful. Though i suppose they were only 3 hours away, i wouldn't persue if the person lived overseas or across the country, unless they were planning to move sometime soon.

I suppose that would be where my problem lies. Most of the people I've met online were either in the UK, in Canadia, West Coast, or more than 1 state away (and 18 further compounding things.)

Well I've tecnically met 4 people from online in real life.
1 female, we had a few dates but just ended up as good friends (there was a bit of drama that ment we didn't get together that I only founf out about ages after)
1 of the guys I met and dated for a few months but it was long distance and didn't work out. Another one of the guys I met I just used as an ego boost as I had just become single and he really liked me but I wernt interested (meen I know)
And the other one I randomly ran in to on a night out, we couldn't think why we recognised each other.
I have no problem meeting people online as these days it can be rather hard to meet interesting people, plus the bar sceen does get old fast!
