The SandPainters Canyon was more trickey to navigate then previously thought. Ya Gin was glad he had His familiar with him, as she provided for a great scout amongst the deep water fillied canyons, while he patrolled the the side of it, not wanting to travel deeper lest he become trapped on a rockey side or worse, lose his footing and fall
Originaly, the plan was to scout the area in the hopes that he could find a area to mine minerals with. Although he hadn't heard of the canyon to contain such places, he wanted to confirm this notion to himself, first.

Yuun, the little grassland unicorn was trotting carefully through the canyon, following her master, Kaen. They were just traveling through the area, exploring the world and whatnot.

Glancing back at the unicorn, Kaen chuckled a bit. Not too long ago, they visited a familiar master to get the thing needed to allow Kaen to speak through thought-speech. It proved to be quite useful, though the young unicorn did sound much like a young child now. Though that just proved his beliefs that she was practically an infant when he found her.
"Of course," he said while looking around. There wasn't a whole lot in the area that they could eat at the moment so they would have to keep going on.

A screech came from the sky, which signal to Ya gin that someone else was in the area. He looked ahead to see that there was another Chin lin and his familiar, whom must have found one of the many bridges that linked one side of the canyon to the other.
Quickly he galloped forwards, his speed easily allowing him to catch up to this small group. However he stopped once he got to the bridge itself, unsure as if he wanted to cross over a..skinny walkway

Hearing something coming close, Kaen glanced to see another male chi'lin at the end of the bridge he had just stepped onto. His grassland unicorn companion was a bit skittish about going onto the narrow walkway, but she also didn't want to be left behind. Once Yuun had come, the painter slowly made his way towards the other, giving a slight nod of acknowledgement.
"Greetings! How are you on this fine day?"

Yu-gin returned the courtsey movement. "ah, I am very well indeed! I hope you are in such fine health as well?" He looked over the edge of the canyon, then wished he didn't. Though instead of walking over to the other side, he thought of a much better (and safer) idea.
"I don't suppose you would know if there was any traces of minerals in this area?" he asked the other male. "I have journeyed to this place in search of some extra mineral sources, But I am a little warey of traveling into the canyon. It's...very steep.."

"I am as well."
At the question of minerals in the area, Kaen glanced around in an attempt to recall if he came across such things. After a moment or so, he smiled and nodded before turning towards the bridge he had just crossed.
"Indeed... one must watch his step in these areas, but I do recall spotting some traces of minerals a ways that way. I can lead you there if you'd like."
There was a slight pause before the chi'lin chuckled and shook his head as he realized that he had forgotten to introduce himself.
"And ah! I am Kaen, and this here is Yuun."

Amazed and relieved that he wouldn't have to be searching all day by himself, Yu-Gin nodded in earnest. "I would be most gratefull of you could. It would make things so much easier." He then realised himself he had forgot to introduce himself, and then did so after Kaen had. "Aha, such a interesting name. For myself, am Yu-Gin, and..." he gave a short, shrill whistle, and his Owl familiar then flew to him and used his horn as a perch. "This is Wisor"

After bowing lightly to his new aquaintence, Kaen turned towards the bridge, peering at the general area where he had caught the traces of some sort of mineral.
"A pleasure to meet you both. Now... we should cross but to be safe we should take turns... It may be a little safer that way."
With that said, he began to trek back over towards the other side. Yuun was once again hesitant, and have a bleeting whine while she began to follow her master.

He nodded in agreement. The bridge seemed to hold at least one of them up, but he did not want to gamble on it holding both their combined weight. While his new found friend started to cross, he waited paitenly on his side of the canyon untill he would make it to the other side.

Kaen took his time, but it wasn't too long before he had reached the other side of the bridge. Once Yuun had joined him, he stepped a little further away from the bridge and glanced back to see if Yu-Gin was coming along as well. It was when he was in these canyons, that he almost wished he had the gift of flight most of the other subtypes of painters had.
But, he was happy with how he was.

Okay, so now it was his turn..
Slowly, The chi lin placed one foot in front of the other, it becoming incrinsly clear he did not like heights. His brow furrowed in concentration of not tripping or making any sudden movements However, a small chip of rock feel from the side, and this spooked him into running the rest of the way to the other side of the canyon.
Once on steady ground again, he sighed. "That was more dangerous then it looked.."

Once his new friend had made to the other side, Kaen chuckled at the comment with a nod. He moved away to give the other a little more room, then spoke.
"That it is.. glad to see you made it in one piece. Are you ready to continue on?" he asked while gazing down the rocky paths, "I found some mineral traces a little further down this way; it shouldn't be much longer before we reach it, though I must ask... is there any particular mineral you seek?"

"Ah, that I am" He replied, then followed the others line of sight. As for the question, He smilied. "I was looking for the standard minerals, jade of course, but I was also a little curious if there was others, such as quartz." He then looked up the sky in wonder. "It's always a interesting adventure, to look for new minerals to find. It is also nice to know that once your done, the minerals can be of important use to others."

Nodding in understandment, the male began moving down the path to where he remembered spotting some traces.
"I see... though I don't quite remember what sort of traces I picked up on. Hopefully it'll be what you're seeking however."
With a grin, he glanced back towards Yu-Gin and chuckled, "But I know what you mean. I haven't really mined so much as of late, but it's always a nice feeling to know you're able to get the things others need."

being careful not to step on any lose gravel, and listening to Kaen as he went, Yu-gin was also scanning the ground for the minerals he sought.
"It's alright if I don't find the ones I need, because I can always keep searching untill I find them" He said with a air of optmism, then heard him talk about mining. He knew that most chi lin were miners, just like himself. What places have you been too in search of minerals?" he asked kaen.
